Opal stood up and looked at the man sitting on the sofa, pretending to be nonchalant.

"Mr. Stratton?"

Everett looked up, his face etched with confusion, as if he had just snapped back to reality.

"Oh?"

He put down the book in his hand, smiling gently.

"You're leaving? Take care, don't bother seeing yourselves out."

"Mr. Stratton, we should..."

"Opal," Everett interrupted, his tone laced with warning and dismissiveness.

"Take care, don't bother seeing yourselves out."

Seeing this, Opal had no choice but to drag a reluctant Vivienne away.

The living room suddenly fell silent.

In the silence, my patience was slowly wearing thin.

He was always like this after losing his memory, clearly knowing everything but pretending to be clueless.

I stared at him coldly, my tone oozing impatience: "Everett, are you going to leave on your own, or do I need to show you out?"

His smile faltered, his face turned pale, and his eyes filled with panic.
