"Are you playing hard to get again? Or are you trying to provoke me?"
"Does that person know about your past? If she finds out..."
Before she could finish, Stella snatched the phone away.
Her expression was colder than ever before.
"I'm sorry, but I'm his girlfriend now, and he's responsible to me."
"My name is Stella. You'd better remember that name."
"Lavender, using someone's pain as leverage is pretty low."
"Remember what I said, or I won't hesitate to cause another crisis in your career."
With that, Stella hung up the call.
I opened my mouth to say something.
But she held me tightly in her arms.
"Dashiell, don't be afraid."
"I'll always be by your side, now and in the future."
My eyes welled up slightly.
"Stella, thank you."
When I saw Lavender at the police station, I was too shocked to speak.
I had imagined countless possibilities,
But never thought the culprit would be her.
After all, she had once been my salvation.
I used to see her as my guiding light.
