Bab 6: Healing for Leom

In the throne room of Belphegor's palace, Demon King Zephyr sat facing the Elven King, Aerion Silvertree. The glow of violet crystals illuminated their serious expressions.

"So, how are things at the northern border?" Zephyr asked, swirling the wine glass in his hand.

Aerion sighed. "Still chaotic. The human forces keep—"

Knock! Knock!

A demon soldier rushed in. "Forgive the interruption, Your Majesty. Commander Leon has returned... in critical condition."

The glass in Zephyr's hand shattered.

"What?!" He stood so abruptly that his chair toppled over.

Aerion raised an eyebrow. "Trouble?"

Zephyr bit his lower lip. "The young demon I told you about... he's on the verge of death!"

"Ah, that prodigy of yours?" Aerion nodded slowly before suddenly rising to his feet.

"I can help. I possess the finest healing magic."

Zephyr's eyes filled with hope. "You truly—?"

"But later, you'll have to explain why you care so much for this low-class demon," Aerion said as he strode toward the door.

Sylvaine knelt beside Leon's bed, clutching his cold hand tightly. Blood still seeped through the bandages covering his body.

The door swung open.

"Brother!" Sylvaine turned, her face streaked with tears.

"Please... please save him!"

Zephyr nodded toward Aerion. "Stay calm. King Aerion will help him."

Aerion stepped forward. "Before I begin, everyone must leave. This magic requires absolute concentration."

They all exited, leaving only Aerion and Leon in the room.

Once alone, Aerion extended his hand. A shimmering green wind enveloped Leon's body, forming a small, swirling tornado that slowly healed his wounds.

Three hours later...

Aerion emerged, his face pale. "He... will recover in two days."

Sylvaine rushed in immediately upon hearing this. Aerion gave Zephyr a strange look.

"Zephyr... just what kind of monster have you found? The injuries he sustained should have killed him. But his body... it has a bizarre regenerative mechanism. Unlike any low-class demon—perhaps even surpassing high-class ones."

Zephyr could only remain silent, bewildered by Leon's current state.

One day later...

Leon's eyes fluttered open slowly. His vision was still blurry as he saw Sylvaine asleep in the chair beside his bed.

Ding!

His body trembled. His muscles tightened, and all his pain vanished instantly.

"Ha... haha!" Leon let out a soft laugh.

Sylvaine stirred awake.

Without thinking, she hugged him tightly. "Idiot! Don't ever scare me like that again!"

Leon froze, his cheeks flushing. "Y-Your Highness... Sylvaine... I can't... breathe..."

The door opened.

Zephyr stood there with a wide grin. "Ahem. Sorry to interrupt your moment."

Sylvaine jumped back, her face burning red. "I... I should go!" She dashed out, nearly crashing into the door.

Zephyr sat beside Leon. "How are you feeling, Leon?"

"Much better, Your Majesty."

"Good to hear. Oh, by the way, someone wants to meet you tomorrow."

"Who is it, if I may ask?"

"A secret," Zephyr said as he stood.

"Rest for now."

As Zephyr left, a familiar voice echoed in the room.

"Young demon... you're finally awake."

Leon froze. "That voice..."
