The man in the windbreaker took slow, confident steps towards him, a cruel smile curling at the corner of his mouth. Victory was within his grasp. A genius was about to fall at his feet.
But then, he saw Renjiro laugh. A soft, almost eerie laugh.
He stopped in his tracks, puzzled. "What are you laughing at?!"
Renjiro raised his battered face, blood trickling from his forehead, and locked eyes with the man. "I'm laughing at you."
The windbreaker man narrowed his eyes. "Laughing at me?!"
Renjiro continued, his voice weak but steady. "Yes. Don't you want to know why Liu Shuyun came to Shuangyang City?"
That question hit its mark. The windbreaker man paused, curiosity overcoming his bloodlust. Yes, why had Liu Shuyun come to Shuangyang City for this boy?
Renjiro seized the moment, speaking softly as he fumbled to pass the Mega Stone to Beedrill. "I'll tell you... if you let me go."
The man in the windbreaker burst out laughing. "Where's your arrogance now, brat? You're begging for your life?!"
In his mind, Renjiro cursed the man's cruelty, but outwardly, he kept the act. "Please... please, just spare me."
The man sneered. "That depends on whether what you tell me is worth it!"
Slowly, Renjiro revealed the shining Mega Evolution Stone. The man's eyes widened for a second, then narrowed in disgust.
"You trying to fool me with a worthless rock?!"
Renjiro didn't answer his insult. Instead, he whispered, "You should be thankful... You're the first in the world to witness this power."
Before the man could react, Renjiro hurled the Mega Evolution Stone towards his Beedrill with all his remaining strength.
"Beedrill! Let's transcend evolution—together!"

The moment Beedrill touched the stone, an explosion of brilliant light erupted. The battlefield was bathed in blinding radiance as Beedrill's form became enveloped in the glow of evolution.
The man in the windbreaker took several steps back, his face pale with shock. "W-What... What is this?!"
His Weavile, too, froze at the sight, confused and wary.
Beedrill's silhouette began to change. Its body became more segmented, black connectors appearing between the sections of its sleek form. Its antennae shortened and trailed behind it like deadly whips. The stingers on its arms became massive lances, and its legs transformed into sharp, black-and-yellow twineedles.
A third pair of wings sprouted from its back, beating furiously as Beedrill's new power surged through the air.
Mega Beedrill had arrived.

The man's greed replaced his fear. "If I get that stone... can my Weavile evolve again? Weavile, kill him now!"
"Nura-nura!" Weavile roared and lunged at Renjiro with terrifying speed, claws aimed at his throat.
Just as the attack was about to connect, a sharp clang rang out.
Mega Beedrill intercepted, its massive lances crossed in front of Renjiro. Weavile's claws met unyielding steel.

Weavile staggered to its feet, bruised but defiant, and unleashed a cold blast. But Mega Beedrill danced around the attack, too fast to track, wings slicing through the chilled air.
"Twineedle, finish it!"
With deadly precision, Mega Beedrill struck. Weavile cried out, collapsing as the poison coursed through its body.
The man in the windbreaker took a step back, trembling. The predator had become the prey.
Renjiro wiped the blood from his eyes, his gaze sharp. "It's over. Leave, or face the consequences."
But the man wasn't ready to give up. His greed burned too hot. He reached for a Poké Ball—
"Fell Stinger!"
In a flash, Mega Beedrill was there, knocking the ball from his hand and pressing its lance against his throat.
