Chapter 5: Pure Star Radiance Armament

The campus of Starlight Academy consists of three buildings.

The junior, senior, and university departments each have their own separate buildings, all surrounding a vast central courtyard. Together with student dormitories and other facilities, the entire campus is extremely expansive—larger than even some elite academies outside the city.

Aize walked through the largest of the three buildings: the senior department building, brushing shoulders with students who had not yet left the premises.

His destination was the top floor of this building.

There, an office awaited.

This was the Student Council office.

"Hope I've got the right place."

Standing in front of the Student Council office door, Aize collected his thoughts, then reached out and pressed the call button next to the door.

"Beep beep—"

With a soft sound, a black screen projection appeared in the air, followed by a voice.

"Hello. How may I assist you?"

It was a cold mechanical voice—clearly an automated intelligent response.

Aize slightly raised an eyebrow.

"Pretty advanced..."

Murmuring to himself, he gave a brief, clear reply.

"I'm Aize from the first year of the senior department. I've come to apply for the use of a Pure Star Radiance Armament."

A short silence followed.

"Please come in."

A moment later, another voice responded through the display—different from the emotionless system. This voice was sweet, yet composed and calm.

"Shhh!"

The automatic door in front of Aize slid open, revealing a space far grander than one would expect from a student council office.

Aize paused briefly before stepping inside.

The floor was covered in deep brown carpeting. The room was furnished with full leather sofas and a reception table. Paintings of the academy's landscape adorned the walls—everything reeked of luxury.

At the very end of the room, a huge glass window replaced the wall, offering a view of the city below—like gazing upon a grand diorama.

Before the window sat a heavy oak desk.

Behind the desk sat a girl.

She had dazzling golden hair—not smooth and straight, but in large, voluminous waves. She exuded calm and grace, with a beauty that drew Aize's gaze. She was, without question, a stunning young woman.

"I'm Claudia Enfield, President of the Student Council at Starlight Academy."

The girl introduced herself with a calm smile that matched her demeanor, and greeted Aize, who had just entered.

"Welcome to the Student Council, Aize."

Aize didn't respond immediately. Instead, he quietly observed her.

"So this is Claudia…"

Claudia Enfield—President of the Student Council, and like Aize, a first-year in the senior department.

Unlike the "unremarkable" Aize, Claudia was a well-known figure at the academy.

She wasn't just the Student Council president—she was the second-ranked "Genestella" (Star-Pulse Generation) in the academy. Her parents were high-ranking officials in the conglomerate "Galaxy," making her a perfect combination of strength, beauty, and background—a true top-tier "white-rich-beauty."

In fact, she was one of the main heroines of the original story, and her popularity once surpassed even that of the primary heroine.

For Aize, meeting her here was like seeing a two-dimensional anime heroine in real life—significant, to say the least.

Thankfully, he had prepared himself mentally before coming, so he didn't embarrass himself.

"Hello, President Enfield."

Aize gave a slight bow and replied with equal composure.

"Just call me Claudia," she said with a polite smile. "I've already received your application. You're here to request use of a Pure Star Radiance Armament, correct?"

"Yes," Aize nodded. "I heard that, theoretically, any student can apply to the Student Council for permission to use one."

"So I'd like to trouble you with the request."

The so-called Pure Star Radiance Armaments, like the regular Radiance Armaments, were transformable energy weapons using mana-elemental crystals.

However, while the standard Radiance Armaments used Mana Ore as their core, Pure Star Radiance Armaments used Pure Mana Crystals—a far rarer, more refined energy source.

They contained immense power and unique abilities.

Using Pure Mana Crystals made the weapons far more powerful and capable of drastically enhancing the user's combat strength.

Naturally, Aize had his eyes on them.

Unfortunately…

"It's true that, in theory, any student can apply for a Pure Star Radiance Armament," Claudia nodded. Then her tone shifted slightly.

"But as a student of this academy, you should know—that's just theory, isn't it?"

Indeed, it was only theoretical.

In reality, obtaining one from the academy was far from easy.

"Unlike standard Radiance Armaments, Pure Star variants are extremely rare and specialized. Most of them are managed directly by the Integrated Enterprise Federation."

"The Federation only provides a few of these armaments to each academy, allowing Genestella students to borrow them. Students only have usage rights—the ownership still belongs to the Federation."

"Their purpose is to collect usage data on the armaments."

"Also, these weapons choose their own users. Not everyone can wield one."

Claudia's explanation was thorough—and Aize already knew all of it.

It was said that each Pure Star Radiance Armament possessed its own will and could choose its master.

Without its approval, it couldn't be used.

Claudia patiently explained, while also gently expressing her doubt.

"While all students can apply, due to their value, rarity, and unpredictable nature, the academy's screening process is extremely strict."

"Only those who rank highly or perform exceptionally in the tournaments typically get approved."

"But you, Aize... I don't think your application will pass easily."

With those words, Aize understood—Claudia had clearly done her homework.

She knew about his unimpressive grades and standing. With such an ordinary profile, his application would likely go nowhere.

But Aize had anticipated all this.

"Please submit my application."

His voice remained calm.

"Alright," Claudia nodded, seeing he wouldn't back down. She smiled and said, "I'll submit your request under the Student Council's name. You can wait for the results."

"Thank you." Aize bowed slightly again, turned, and began to walk away.

Thanks to this, Claudia didn't see the flicker in Aize's eyes as he turned around.

In that moment, he subtly activated the hidden power within him.

"——"

A wave of power, invisible to human senses, radiated from Aize.

"Hmm?"

At the same time, Claudia's expression shifted slightly.

Her serene smile wavered—for just a split second.
