I grabbed his head, driving a powerful knee into his jaw. The impact reverberated through me, but I didn't let up. With a swift, calculated move, I followed up with a brutal elbow to the face, the force of it snapping his head back. Without giving him a chance to recover, I spun mid-air, my body twisting with deadly precision. My leg shot out, landing a devastating hook kick to his jaw, the force of it cracking his teeth and leaving him reeling.
Its eyes flared with fury, and it clapped its massive hands together with a deafening sound. I dropped to the ground, narrowly avoiding the strike, my breath heavy as I prepared myself. In one fluid motion, I launched a powerful punch to its ribs, the sound of cracking filling the air. It roared in pain, but before it could retaliate, I swiftly dodged its right-hand swing, pivoting and delivering another crushing blow to the other side of its ribs, the crack echoing through the battlefield.
It glared at me with a fury so intense that I could almost feel the heat from its rage. But that anger quickly faded as its body staggered, the damage finally taking its toll. With one last roar, its eyes glazed over, and it collapsed to the ground, lifeless.
I gasped for breath, the pain from the battle finally catching up to me. My body ached, every muscle screaming in protest. I opened my inventory, my hands shaking as I grabbed a health potion. Without hesitation, I downed it, feeling the cool liquid slide down my throat, its healing properties quickly working to numb the pain and patch up the damage.
I dropped to the ground, my back hitting the earth with a thud. Staring up at the fallen monster, I let out a labored breath. "You earned my respect," I muttered, the words carrying weight. "As a token of that... I won't copy your trump card."
System Notification:
The Lord of Copy Paste is impressed by your actions. As a token of respect, you may ask him anything. He will provide an honest answer, as long as it doesn't defy the rules.
I pause, thinking carefully before I speak. "I'm looking for a person… a woman."
Before I could continue, the system interrupts with a mocking tone:
System Notification:
The Lord of Copy Paste says: "Another woman? Are you planning to bang her too?"
I flustered, my face turning bright red. "What the hell are you saying? You—"
System Notification:
The Lord of Copy Paste says: "Not satisfied with just one, huh? You're already looking for another one to add to your collection?"
flustered, stammering, "Wha—"
System Notification:
The Lord of Copy Paste says: "You have only one sword, but you're stabbing two at a time?
I blushed, flustered, and said, "It's the sister of a... friend... of mine, blushing. And the person I'm looking for is Jin-a."
System Notification:
The Lord of Copy Paste says: "Ah, that's one of my sister's favorite players."
I took a deep breath, gathering my thoughts. "May I ask what your sister's name is? And—"
Before I could finish, the god cut me off with a sharp, almost mocking tone.
System Notification:
The Lord of Copy Paste says: Now you're targeting my sister? [eyes looking disgusted]
I froze for a second, completely thrown off. "What the hell are you talking about?" I shot back, glaring at the system notification. "I'm just trying to find my friend's sister! She's the one I'm looking for, not your sister!"
The god seemed to hold back an eye-roll as his voice boomed in my head.
System Notification:
The Lord of Copy Paste says: Oh, so now you're after my sister too? Can't even keep your focus on one thing, huh?
I sighed heavily, rubbing my temples. "Look, I'm just trying to find someone, alright? I didn't even know your sister existed until now. It's not like that."
I glanced at the notification, shaking my head. "Do you always get this defensive when someone asks about your sister, or is it just me?"
I could practically feel the god's eye-roll through the screen, but I wasn't backing down. "Seriously, I'm just trying to help a friend find his sister. Get over it."
After a lot of back-and-forth confusion, I finally couldn't take it anymore.
System Notification:
The Lord of Copy Paste says: My sister's name is Lady of the Flip-Flop.
I blinked in disbelief. "Wow... I'm amazed by your naming conventions," I muttered sarcastically. What kind of name was that?
Trying to hold it together, I asked, "So, where can I find her?"
System Notification:
The Lord of Copy Paste says: How the fck should I know?
I stared at the notification for a moment, completely dumbfounded. "You're really no help, huh?" I muttered, rolling my eyes. What a joke.
System Notification:
The Lord of Copy Paste says: Let's begin the next trial.
I sighed, my face setting into a serious expression. "Alright, what now?"
System Notification:
The Lord of Copy Paste says: You can freely use skills now. Oh, and by the way, you leveled up twice. Check your skills first. You're going to fight 5 rare monsters.
I raised an eyebrow. "Two levels in one go?" I muttered to myself, quickly pulling up my skills.
This wasn't going to be easy, but I was ready. Five rare monsters... sounds like a hell of a challenge. Time to see what I had to work with.
It was 2:00 in the afternoon. The heat was unbearable, the sun beating down relentlessly. But honestly? I felt like I was hotter than the weather.
I looked up, wiping the sweat from my brow.
System Notification:
The Lord of Copy Paste says: Yuck. Ew. I'm gonna puke and fart at the same time.
I rolled my eyes and muttered under my breath, "Shut up, man. You're not helping."
The system had a way of making everything feel like a circus, but at least it kept things... interesting.
I checked my skills, and there it was: a new buff skill. It focused on speed. Perfect.
"Well, this is exactly what I need to shock my opponent," I muttered to myself, already feeling the adrenaline kicking in.
Speed—this was the edge I'd been missing. If I could move faster than they could react, I'd have them in the palm of my hand before they even knew what hit them.
Time to put this to the test.
System notification: The Lord of Copy Paste says:
"You're gonna take forever finding those rare monsters. Let me help you out."
He then added, "I've marked down five locations for you. Also, I'll need you to buy six teleportation pendants from the shop."
I stared at the notification, sighing. "Fine, I'll get it done," I muttered, heading over to the system shop.
I browsed through the items and found the teleportation pendants listed. I bought six of them, the transaction completing smoothly.
With the pendants now in my inventory, I looked back at the list of locations he gave me. "Alright, let's get this over with."
The first location on the list: Blue Grace Forest(Cheongcho Forest in Korea). I took a deep breath and activated one of the teleportation pendants, the world around me warping before I was dropped in the middle of a lush, vibrant forest.
The trees towered above me, their leaves shimmering with an almost magical glow. It was quiet, peaceful, even serene. I glanced around, nodding to myself. "It's nice here," I muttered, before hearing the familiar ping of the system.
System notification: The Lord of Copy Paste says:
"Walk straight. You'll find the first one ahead."
I sighed, adjusting my gear and setting off down the path. No time to admire the view. I had a task to complete.
I walked straight, my senses sharpening as I moved through the dense underbrush. Something was off—a shift in the air, a faint growl echoing in the distance. I could feel it. The monster was closing in.
Without a second thought, It lunged forward, barely dodging to the side as a massive red blur shot past me. I spun, eyes locking onto the creature that had just tried to ambush me.
A wolf—no, not just any wolf. This one was different.
System notification:
Monster name: Bloodmane (Tier 1) [Rare– Monster]
A fearsome wolf whose fur is stained red with the blood of its prey.
The beast snarled, its crimson fur gleaming under the dappled sunlight. Its yellow eyes were cold, calculating. Bloodmane. It was a predator, no doubt, and I was its next target.
I cracked my knuckles and grinned. This was gonna be fun.
The Bloodmane let out a savage snarl, and before I could blink, it shot forward with terrifying speed. A blur of red fur and fangs, it lunged at me with explosive force. I could feel the ground tremble beneath its paws as it charged, its body a living weapon.
Feral Lunge. The beast had a move that could shatter bone and tear through anything in its path. But I wasn't about to be a victim.
I stood my ground, muscles coiling in preparation. The air around me felt heavy, as if the moment would stretch into eternity. With a roar, the wolf crashed toward me, its jaws snapping inches from my face.
In one swift motion, I reached out, grabbing its neck mid-lunge. The wolf's momentum pushed against me, but I held firm, the brute force of its body rattling my frame. I slammed its face into the concrete with a sickening thud, sending a jolt through my arm.
Its eyes were wild, but I didn't flinch. I twisted its neck slightly, hearing a dangerous creak, but I wasn't done yet.
"You're tough," I muttered, watching as the Bloodmane struggled to regain its balance.
Its claws raked the air, but I kept the pressure on, keeping it locked in place. The wolf let out a low growl, trying to squirm free. Its massive body flexed beneath my grip, but I wasn't letting go. The fight was far from over, and I was ready for whatever came next.
I could feel the Bloodmane twitching beneath my grip, but it wasn't the slow death of a beast giving in. No, it was something else. The muscles in its body bulged, its form expanding, growing more menacing by the second. I felt a shift in the air around us, a ripple of something unnatural.
Then, with a savage roar, the wolf threw its head back and unleashed a blood-curdling howl.
Blood Howl.
The sound crashed into me like a physical force, waves of fear slamming into my chest. For a split second, the world around me seemed to slow down. My body froze, caught in the sheer terror of its echo. I tried to fight it, but I could feel my muscles lock up, my heart pounding in my ears as the paralyzing fear sunk deeper into my bones.
"Grahhh!" I gritted my teeth, fighting for control, but it was like my body had betrayed me. The howl reverberated through my core, and I could feel my vision blur.
System Notification: Skill – Blood Howl
Effect: Causes fear or paralysis in the opponent, granting the user a buff in speed and precision, as well as a guaranteed critical hit for 1 minute.
The wolf's eyes gleamed with an eerie crimson glow as it grinned, knowing its effect was taking hold. Its movements became even more fluid, more precise. The speed and power of its attacks ramped up, and I could see the terrifying advantage it now had.
I clenched my fists, forcing my body to fight against the paralysis, but it was a struggle. Time felt like it was stretching, and the wolf was faster now, its strikes sharper.
This was bad. The Bloodmane wasn't just stronger—it was now deadly.
If my two familiars were here, this wouldn't be much of a problem. They'd easily support me, keep me on my feet, and help turn the tide. But I know better than to rely on them. Not like this.
Because if I always lean on others to carry the weight, I'll never get any stronger. I'll never know how far I can truly push myself, how much I can endure before I break.
This is my fight. My challenge.
The Bloodmane howled, a bone-chilling sound that pierced the air as it lunged at me with terrifying speed. Its claws slashed across my chest—Gah!—pain exploded in my body, but it didn't stop. The wolf kept attacking, circling me, its claws tearing at me from every angle.
I gritted my teeth, enduring each hit, but the monster was relentless, its grin wide and mocking as it clawed at me from every side. It was trying to wear me down, to break me.
That was when I snapped.
The rage burned hot, deeper than anything I'd felt before. "Enough," I snarled through gritted teeth.
Colossus Form erupted inside me.
My muscles surged, harder and denser than stone. Every fiber of my body crackled with raw power, the surge of strength making me feel unstoppable. My body grew tense, every muscle screaming with energy as the beast tried to lunge at me again.
I roared, moving faster than it could react.
With a violent twist, I grabbed the Bloodmane by its skull, my grip like iron. I slammed its head into the ground with such force that the earth itself seemed to shake, trees bending under the shockwave. The impact was deafening, and the beast's grin faltered as its skull cracked against the earth.
"You think your paralysis will keep me down forever?" I growled, my voice dripping with defiance.
The Bloodmane twitched, its body convulsing one last time as it struggled to stay upright. Its glowing red eyes dimmed as the life drained from it. With a final, labored howl, the beast crumpled to the ground, defeated.
System Notification:
1/5 Rare Monsters Defeated.
I drink another healing potion from my inventory, feeling the soothing liquid work its magic on the scratches across my chest and body. The pain dulls, and I take a deep breath, steadying myself. Now, time to move on to the next destination.
Next up was Baekdu Mountain. It was a bit far, but I wasn't about to back down now. I used my teleportation pendant, and in the blink of an eye, I was there.
When I looked up at the mountain, I couldn't help but chuckle. The peak had this odd shape that... reminded me of something. Yeah, you guessed it. It looked like Zeyna's—well, you know. The resemblance was striking, and I couldn't help but laugh.
But I wasn't here for jokes. I shook it off, taking in the breathtaking view. Snow-covered peaks gleamed under the sunlight, casting long shadows over the landscape. Focus. Time to get to work
I walked around, taking in the scenery of Baekdu Mountain, the cool breeze brushing against my skin. The silence was peaceful, but something felt off, like I was being watched. After five minutes of wandering, I finally spotted something out of the ordinary.
A small figure was sitting on a rock, her silhouette outlined against the mountain's backdrop. At first glance, she seemed like an innocent child, her long, silver hair flowing gently in the wind, a serene expression on her face as she stared off into the distance. But something about her didn't sit right.
