CHAPTER 13
✮•✮•✮•✮
"Ding-dong! Ding-dong!" The alarm blared loudly, She groaned, stretching her stiff body as her hand slapped at the clock to stop the noise.
"Ahh," she yawned, sitting up and rubbing her eyes. A few books slid off her lap and hit the floor She must have fallen asleep while studying again.
When she finished, she wrapped herself in a towel and stepped out of the bathroom. Her reflection in the mirror told the whole story disheveled, tired, but still trying her best to look put-together. Fuck, she thought, she really didn't have time for this.
She quickly threw on a suit shirt and skirt, letting her long hair fall messily around her shoulders, then she gave a quick smile to herself in the mirror. It was all she could do.
"Fuck," she muttered, rolling her neck. Her whole body ached like she'd been hit by a truck.
She had spent hours buried in books, trying to catch up on homework and assignments. Now, glancing at the clock, she realized it was already 8 p.m. and she was way behind.
"What," she muttered to herself, jumping out of bed. "I'm so damn late."
Panicking, she rushed to the bathroom, stripping off her clothes in a hurry. The hot water of the shower hit her skin.
Once she was done, she quickly grabbed a towel, wrapping it around herself. As she stepped out of the bathroom, she quickly grabbed her suit shirt and skirt from the closet. She threw them on, still half dazed from the rush. H
er long hair cascaded down her back as she ran a brush through it, leaving it to flow freely. A tired smile formed on her lips as she looked at her reflection in the mirror.
Then, there was a knock at the door.
"Ma'am, your breakfast is ready," came a voice from the other side of the door.
She muttered, walking over to the door. "Coming."
Lily shook her head, muttering to herself as she opened the door. The butler, an older man with a polite smile, stood there waiting.
"Thank you," she said, her voice still groggy, as she walked past him and down the stairs.
Lily walked down the stairs, still half-asleep, her messy hair falling over her shoulders. She rubbed her eyes, groaning softly.
She walked down the stairs, trying to calm her nerves. He was at the dining table, a newspaper in hand and a cup of coffee resting near his fingers. Even in the simplest black shirt and dark slacks, he looked dangerously elegant,
Damn it, she thought, raking her fingers through her hair, how can someone be this devilishly irresistible and yet so annoyingly distant?
"Good morning," she said, as she slid into the chair opposite him.
She ran her fingers through her hair, trying to tame the mess. "Good morning," she said, forcing herself to sound normal as she pulled out a chair opposite him and sat down.
Lucifer lowered the newspaper, "Good morning," he replied He glanced at his wristwatch, then back at her. "You're late."
She gave a sheepish smile. "Yeah, I stayed up too late reading and overslept."
His lips twitched, almost like he was suppressing a smirk, but he didn't comment further. Instead, he returned to his paper, his focus leaving her feeling dismissed. She bit the inside of her cheek, muttering in her mind.
She sighed, standing up abruptly. "I have to go. Damien's here."
"Make sure you're back before dark."
"I will," she muttered, rushing toward the door. She paused for a moment, her fingers brushing against the handle. "Thanks for… breakfast." Even though she hadn't touched it.
He didn't reply, his attention already back on his newspaper.
Outside, Damien leaned against the side of his car, His messy dark hair fell over his forehead, and he looked effortlessly cool in his leather jacket.
"Finally," he teased as she approached. "What took you so long? Getting beauty tips from Lucifer?"
She rolled her eyes. "Shut up, Damien." Sliding into the passenger seat, she buckled up as he got behind the wheel.
"Relax, princess. You're lucky I didn't leave without you." He smirked, revving the engine.
She crossed her arms, staring out the window as the car pulled away. Her mind kept drifting back to Lucifer's indifferent expression.
Damien glanced at her, his voice pulling her from her thoughts. "You okay? You seem… distracted."
"I'm fine," she muttered.
"Right," Damien said, giving her a knowing look but not pushing further.
"Damien, can I ask you something about Lucifer?"
Damien raised an eyebrow, What about him?"
Lily bit her lip, trying to find the right words. "I don't know… it's just that lately, he's been... distant. I don't get it. One minute he's fine, the next, he's completely... cold. What the hell is going on with him?"
"Fuck if I know, princess," he said, a small smirk tugging at the corner of his lips. "Lucifer doesn't exactly share his feelings, you know?"
"Lucifer... he's got a lot of shit on his plate. More than you probably realize."Damien's jaw tightened, his grip on the steering wheel shifting slightly. "Lucifer is a fucking dark man, princess. You don't want to know everything about him. Believe me."
"Thanks for nothing," she said bitterly, pushing the door open and stepping out of the car. She slammed it shut, not bothering to look back as she headed toward the school.
Lily stepped out of the school gates and froze, this place was huge way bigger than her old school. The buildings were tall and perfect, everything looked so fancy. .
it was a freaking palace for the rich. Everything was perfect, from the tall buildings to the expensive cars parked out front.
This wasn't a school for people like her. She had always been used to her old school, where things weren't so polished or perfect. But this place? It felt like a different world.
She glanced around, seeing girls in designer clothes everything from luxury handbags to shoes that probably cost more than her entire wardrobe. Their perfectly styled hair and subtle makeup made them look like they were stepping onto a runway instead of into a classroom.
What caught Lily off guard was that almost everyone had their phones out, chatting, texting, or scrolling through social media like it was a normal part of school life.
They even bring phones to school? she thought, . In her old school, phones were strictly banned during class hours, but here? It seemed like no one cared.

"Can you believe it. Liam is here, all the way from LA" Bluely said , tapping on her phone to refresh the news.
Rose popped her lollipop into her mouth and smirked. "And he's performing! I heard it's one of his old songs. Ugh, I can't wait! Maybe he'll notice me," she said, twirling a strand of her curly brown hair.
"Notice you Get in line, girl. Every single person here is ready to faint for him."
Rose raised an eyebrow, licking her lollipop slowly. "Faint,, I'm ready to propose! He's literally the Liam. Perfect face, perfect voice, and from LA. Like, what more can you ask for?"
" I heard he's singing his new song during the assembly today. It's supposed to be one of his unreleased tracks. Rumor has it, it's a romantic sad song. I swear, if he sings something that makes me cry, I'm never going to recover."
Liam sat on a stool with a guitar in his lap. His tattoos covered his arms, giving him a dangerous, irresistible look. His white hair hung messy over his forehead, and his blue eyes His black shirt hugged his toned frame, and his pink sexy lip.
He played the guitar, each strum smooth and easy.
Fuck, he was so handsome.
"RYAN, MARRY ME!"
"You're so fucking perfect!"
"Ahhh, look at his SMILE!"
And when his lips parted in a smile, the whole room collectively gasped.
Fuck, he was perfect.
. "Did you see him? Oh my god, I think I'm going to pass out." One girl clutched her chest, her face flushed red. "He's so fucking hot. I can't breathe."
"His tattoos... they just make him even hotter," another girl murmured.
Liam adjusted the mic and looked out at the crowd, "Thanks for the warm welcome. I've got a song for you all. Hope you like it."
His hands reached for the mic, and he held it effortlessly. As his fingers brushed the guitar strings.
🎶 "The rain falls hard, but not as hard as I do,
Every tear that falls is one I can't undo.
I gave you everything, I gave you my soul,
But now I stand alone, in the darkness, in the cold..." 🎶
🎶 "I can't forget the way you looked at me,
I thought we'd always be, you and me.
But now all that's left are broken dreams,
I reach for you, but you're just a memory..." 🎶
The audience was silent, hanging on every note, every word.
"Aww, he's breaking my heart,"
Rose muttered..
🎶 "I thought we had forever, but now it's gone,
The love we built, now shattered, undone.
I'll carry the weight, but I'll never be free,
In the echoes of your goodbye, you'll always be with me..." 🎶
The girls wiped away tears, still in a daze from the song.
LIAM!! WE LOVE YOU!" screamed a girl near the front, clutching a banner with his name on it.
"DATE ME, LIAM!" another shouted,
"LIAM, MARRY ME!"
"I'LL LOVE YOU FOREVER!"
"LOOK OVER HERE, PLEASE!"
Some girls were openly crying, while others clutched their chests, gasping as if they couldn't breathe.
"Thank you, everyone," Liam said, with a sadness that made the girls swoon even harder. "I appreciate you all more than you know."

Few hours Later
The teacher, a middle-aged man with glasses, looked at her expectantly. "And you are…?"
Lily swallowed, standing a little straighter. "Lily Jenkins," she said,
"Class, this is Lily . She'll be joining us starting today."
Lily gave a small, somewhat nervous smile, trying her best to look confident. The teacher gestured to an empty desk near the back of the room.
"Please take a seat, Lily," he instructed, and she made her way to the chair, trying not to let her nerves show.
"So, you're the new girl. Heard you were from a pretty... ordinary place," she said,
Lily blinked, her cheeks heating "Excuse me?" she said.
She scoffed, crossing her arms. "You heard me," she said, "This school isn't for people like you. It's for people who actually belong, not some… charity case trying to act like they fit."
. "Wow," she said, her voice icy. "You must have worked really hard to become this much of a bitch."
"Watch your fucking mouth," she said, leaning forward. "You don't know who you're talking to."
Lily raised an eyebrow but didn't respond.
Lily felt a tap on her shoulder as she left the classroom. Turning around, she saw a girl with glasses perched on the edge of her nose, her brown hair tied into a messy bun. The girl was smiling warmly, holding out a brightly colored notebook.
"Hey, do you need some notes? I saw you didn't have much time to catch up earlier," the girl said, offering the notebook.
Lily blinked, surprised. "Oh, uh, thanks a lot," she said, taking the notebook. "That's really nice of you."
The girl waved it off. "Don't mention it. And don't let that bitch, get to you," she added, rolling her eyes. "She thinks she owns the damn school just because her dad's rich. Urgh, I can't stand her."
Lily gave a small laugh, clutching the notebook. "Yeah, I noticed. She's definitely… something."
"I'm Ava, by the way," the girl said, holding out her hand. "Scholarship kid here, too."
