Rebirth: World of Magic(2)

Arctic Ocean, 400 meters below the sea surface:

The remnants of an old temple could be seen standing in the middle of the sea bed in a half-ruined state. This was a temple that had recently become the headline of all the newspapers.

After a massive block of ice slid into the sea, archaeologists discovered the existence of this temple about 400 meters below the surface. Its architecture was similar to that of ancient Indian temples, and by primary estimates, it dated back more than 9000 years.

A group of archaeologists from different parts of the world who were skilled at diving had gathered here to explore the temple. Though most of the archaeologists were like Alvin, just juniors without much practical experience.

It could not be helped. If you asked old professors to dive 400 meters, they might die due to the cold and pressure before even seeing the underwater temple.

"Alvin, let's go inside the temple. We have already searched the surroundings, but there is nothing particular to note," just as Alvin was looking at some strange fishes with the light from his diving headlamp, a voice rang out from the communicator attached to his ears.

Alvin turned to look toward the temple and saw a person blinking a flashlight at the entrance of the temple.

Although he was feeling uncomfortable due to the cold water, Alvin still swam toward the entrance of the temple.

After the twelve archaeologists had gathered at the entrance, they swam inside and started exploring the interior.

Alvin saw many strange statues of humans and different types of animals inside the temple. There were also words written in some ancient characters on the walls. As Alvin was looking around, he saw a picture of a man holding a book depicted on the wall.

"If this temple really is 9000 years old, from where did this book come from?" Alvin mumbled to himself and called out to his companions on his communicator.

"Guys, I have some important discovery here. Come over..."

All the other archaeologists swam to Alvin's side when they heard his voice through the communicator.

As Alvin was looking at the picture carefully, he suddenly saw that the book in the picture was glowing slightly.

"Huh, is there any radioactive element in this picture?" Alvin slightly touched the glowing book.

"Sizzle"

Suddenly, Alvin felt as though millions of small ants were biting all over his body, and his vision went dark.

When the other archaeologists reached Alvin, they saw his lifeless body floating before the picture. But what nobody ever knew was that the picture on the wall no longer had the golden book in the man's hand.

....

In a parallel universe similar to Earth, called Celestia:

The sky was dark, and rain was falling to the ground non-stop with unusual thunder and lightning crackling without pause.

Suddenly, a shooting star whooshed through the sky and a milky white lightning ray detached from it and struck a one-year-old little girl sitting near the window of an orphanage while playing with a ball in her hand.

The little girl froze for a moment when the milky white lightning struck her. After a moment, the childishness in her eyes disappeared, and a sad look replaced it. "So you really did abandon me, brother?"

She then looked outside through the window and clenched her little fists. "Don't worry mom, I won't allow you to die in that rotten prison like in my previous life."

.....

Inside a secret laboratory situated at the center of a dense forest:

More than one hundred kids ranging from the age of four could be seen submerged inside glass capsules containing green liquid. Several researchers in white coats could be seen walking here and there, observing the readings from small tablets attached to each capsule.

"Bang"

Suddenly the metal door of the research center was blasted open and a group of people in golden armor with an eagle symbol on their chest walked in. Their armor looked like the high-tech suits seen in alien movies, unlike the traditional ones made of metal. It appeared like skin-tight suits made to perfectly fit their body.

The researchers walking around all panicked upon seeing the golden-armored people.

But even before any of them could react, a man from the group placed his hand on the ground and said, "Freeze."

Suddenly frost spread all over the floor and within seconds all the researchers turned into ice sculptures. Only the glass capsules remained unaffected by the burst.

"Captain, these kids seem to be still alive. What should we do?" the man who used the ice spell asked the beautiful woman near him.

This woman's name was Catherine and she was the captain of this group of law enforcers. "Contact the base and ask them to send researchers who are good with this kind of technology immediately. Meanwhile, interrogate these people and try to save the lives of these kids."

The next day, Catherine was looking through her phone when someone knocked on her door.

"Come in," she said while placing the phone back on the desk.

"Captain, from the kids we rescued yesterday, only one boy survived. He has opened his eyes. I am here to ask permission to interrogate him," the man who entered saluted Catherine and spoke respectfully.

"From the 124 children we rescued, only one survived. What a pity." Catherine sighed. "I will personally interrogate him, no need for others to intervene in this matter."

"Yes, Captain." The man left after saluting Catherine once more.

Catherine also followed him to the medical room.

On one of the beds, a little boy around the age of ten could be seen lying down with wide-open eyes. His eyes were purple in color, but they were now motionless, as though the boy was in a coma.

Doctors in white uniforms could be seen examining him from time to time.

"Lilly, cast a spirit-soothing spell on him," a middle-aged doctor said to a young doctor beside him.

Lilly nodded and placed her hand above boy's head, and a golden light burst from her body and engulfed the boy.

Suddenly, the boy who had a blank look on his face sat up while holding his head. He looked around him in confusion. "Huh... am I in a hospital? What about the research... holy hell, why is your hand glowing like a bulb?"

Alvin pointed at Lilly in fear before collapsing back onto the bed like a block of wood.
