Luelle got to the location Cecilia had sent her. She was quite surprised that a person like her could come to such a place.
*I guess people just misjudged her*
'Good evening ma'am. May I sit?.'
'Sure dear, please do'.
'Thank you ma'am. I must say though, I didn't think you'll dine in a place like this. I thought this will...
'Be considered as lowering my standards?...
'Well I...
'It's okay dear, I understand but I too am human right? We're all human after all, dining in a bit crowded place is nothing.'
'You're really not what people think you are ma'am.'
'Thank you. I called you here for a reason and that is my son, Liam.'
'Okay, please go on.'
'You must have found out that the blind date was a mistake and nothing else.'
'Yes ma'am and thanks to that mistake, I met Liam. I think he's a really good person, the date was fun.'
'Really? But I hope it won't happen again.'
'Huh?.'
'Listen Luelle, I want you to do me a favor. By getting close to Liam, you're ruining his life!.'
'What are you saying ma'am?!.'
'This may come as a surprise to you but please, you might ruin my son's marriage.'
'Please ma'am , Calm down. I'm not a homewrecker and I am sure that Liam is not married so please don't accuse me falsely. I didn't even do anything. Yes, I might have asked him to marry me but if I knew he was engaged, I wouldn't have.'
'You should've find out before getting that close to him. The other day, while he was with you, the poor girl he was supposed to meet was waiting for hours! You held him down.'
'Listen ma'am, I'm really trying to be polite. Stop accusing me of something I know nothing about. It's not my fault that Liam came to me the other day. You already said it was a mistake, so be it but please, don't accuse me.'
'Fine, if you say so. Please take this'.
Cecilia pulled out a cheque and handed it over to Luelle.
'Please take this and leave Liam alone forever, please.'
Luelle finally had enough, she stood up immediately.
'I don't know what you think of me ma'am but you're dearly mistaken. What do you take me for? Do you think I need your money?!.'
'Listen, there's no need to shout, take the cheque and leave.'
'You know what? I was wrong about you, you're way worse than I thought you were. I'm leaving,Goodbye.'
*Oh no! If she tell this to Liam, I'll be finished!*.
'Wait, please listen.'
Luelle stopped to listen to what she had to say .
'I'm only doing this for my son. Please try to understand, I have no choice. If I don't do this, my father in-law will throw me and Liam out.'
'Is it that serious? Wow.'
'Listen, you may think that this is ridiculous but it's true. Of course Liam has his own house but what use is the house if he's thrown out of the family?.'
'Alright ma'am, if that's what you want, I'll definitely stay away from him.'
'Thank you, thank you so much.'
'I should leave now ma'am.'
'Sure, thank you.'

'Mom, why would you do that? Why are you trying to force me to get married when you know that I don't want to?.'
'I did it for you son! We don't want that singer here and that's it.'
'So that's how you want to do it. Fine, grandfather, you gave me a week to get married right? I'll definitely get married before the end of this week. I promise you that.'
'Really?.'
'Yes grandfather. I'll take my leave now.'
'Wait.. I hope you're not...he's gone.
Cecilia, your son is a pain in my old ass.'
'I'm sorry father in-law.'
'Listen, there will be no need to meet Claire's parents anymore. I don't know who he will get married to but it's definitely not her.'
'Alright father in-law.'
***
'Come on Xavier, I have to meet luelle.'
'Wait. What will you do.'
'I don't know yet but let's go.'
***
'Grandfather, I've changed my mind. I'm leaving for country S tonight.'
'Tonight? Why so soon, you were leaving tomorrow right?'.
'I changed my mind.'
*oh no! How do I stop her, Liam is coming*.
'Pops, I'll leave tonight. Don't worry about me, the surgery will definitely be successful.'
'You should say that to yourself, you're taking a big risk.'
'I know grandfather but it's not entirely my fault you know. If I don't leave, I'll become too attached to Liam and that is not good right now.'
'Really? Let me ask you a question Luelle, do you like Liam?.'
***
'Drive faster Xavier!.'
'I am! Do you want us both to die before meeting Luelle?!'.
'Just shut up and drive faster!.'
***
'It doesn't matter anymore. Even if I do like him, I can't do anything about it.'
'Why not? That's not like you at all.'
'Well, the thing is....
***
Liam finally got to Luelle's house. He knocked on the door. The old man came out.
'I'm afraid you're late doctor.'
'What?! Is she gone already?'.
'Yes and she told me everything. Listen doctor, I love my granddaughter a lot and I don't want her to be in a place where she's not accepted. I'm sorry but this is where we say goodbye.'
'Wait! Please.'
'Yes?'.
'What if I can change that?.'
'How?.'
***
Luelle sat down in the plane and sighed.
'I can't believe I'm leaving so soon. Coming to country M was a bad idea.'
Luelle decided to text Liam.
'One last time. I should say goodbye to the doctor.'
***
Liam was pacing around the airport and there was still no sign of Luelle.
Then, he got a message.
'Off to county S doc, it was nice knowing you.'
Liam smiled.
'Come on Xavier, book a flight.'
'Are you leaving? Wow, I can never. this is giving 'cinderella.'
'make it fast Xavier.'
'Sure.'

Luelle was in a Private Hospital – country S. It was a snowy morning. Luelle lied in a sterile, white-walled pre-op room, IV in her arm. A new doctor, Dr. Verner, reviews her scans beside her.
"You understand the risks, yes, Miss Vale? Once we begin, there is no stopping."
"I'm used to the point of no return."
The doctor smiled.
"Good. Strength of mind improves recovery."
He steps out to finish the final prep. Luelle stares at the ceiling, her heart hammering.
She's utterly alone. No family. No friends. No Liam.
She shuts her eyes, trying to block out the ache.
Then she heard footsteps. Heavy, and Familiar. Her eyes snap open.
And there he was.
Liam. Dressed in dark jeans and a grey coat, snow dusting his shoulders. His hair is a mess, his face drawn—but his eyes are fierce, locked only on her.
'You—you're not supposed to be here—
"I wasn't supposed to care either."
Without hesitation, he pulls something small from his coat pocket—a simple ring. No speech. No hesitation.
"Will you marry me?"
The words crash into Luelle harder than any diagnosis ever had.
"What are you doing, Liam?"
"Giving you something to fight for. I guess I'm the one proposing now."
The monitors beeped louder, faster—Luelle's heartbeat raced . Nurses glance nervously from the hallway, but Liam doesn't move, doesn't blink.
"You're insane."
"So are you. Say yes."
'Liam, do you think this is right?'.
'Yes Luelle, let's get married.'
