Chapter 4:

"Knight you don't want to do this, killing won't change, or make a difference" Emperor said, standing in front of Issa, with blood dripping from his eyes, nose, mouth, and ear, arm spread, as if using him self as a human shield, to shield her from the ghostly blade.

"you stand here to protect a normie, after all they've done to your kind, why does it seem like to me, that I care more about the supers than you, even though they are your kind not mine" Knight asked, with his face crunched up from anger, eyes bloodshot, with veins turning his blue eyes, into a darker hue, whether that was from anger, or something else, is unknown.

" I am well aware of the evil their kind committed, but I believe everyone could change, and you are a perfect example of that, you use to be a menace to supers, the number of supers you hunted down during the days, numbered in hundreds, but look at you now, you protect supers, getting angry in their stead, so Author for old time sake, could you please let this one live" Emperor pleaded.

Shing! sheathing his sword into his scabbard, he turned his back to the Emperor before speaking,

"for old time sake I will spare her life, but this will be the last time you disrupt my duty, there wouldn't be a next" Knight spoke before walking away.

"thank you friend"

.....

Two weeks after the intruder incident.

"now thinking back on it, it kind of seemed that Knight was relieved, not killing her" Emperor spoke.

" so where he heard to anyway" Zoom asked.

"I don't know after letting her keep her life, he just left" Emperor answered.

"its fiiiiiiine! I bet he would be back, I mean with him and his code of honor, "I would never leave my people, and duty behind" I am sure he would show up, so what about the girl" Zoom asked.

"she is locked up in the holding cell" Emperor answered.

They were the only one present in the council room, making it seem empty.

"would we ever go back to the way we were" Zoom asked.

"I hope we do, I hope we do" Emperor answered with a sober look.

.....

I hesitated why, for some reason I felt like she was like me, which is strange since she doesn't look like me, was it her eyes, that oddly reminded me of the time I use to be a menace to the supers, I placed my misguided hatred on them, thinking they were the same as the alien who took my family from me, I hunted them for a long time, until I finally learnt they were victims of evolution, caused by exposure to the gama rays of the green sun, then I thought back to all the supers I had murdered, the families I destroyed, placing my anger hatred, on innocents who done me no wrong, am I just like him, a monster, just like the one who took my family,

And with that realisation, I changed my name, from huntsman to Knight, and I swore an oat to protect the supers, as an act of redemption, I know all the atrocities i've done cannot be forgiven, but for as long as I live I will abide by my oat.

' you swore an oat, Author, so why hesitate, all you need to do is swing that blade' I thought to my self, steeling my resolve, straining my arm to keep my shaking hands steady, I swong blade, but I stopped seeing emperor appearing before her,

"stop Author, killing her won't change a thing" he spoke, I was suppose to feel angered at him standing in my way, but for some reason, I felt relieved, I didn't want to kill her she reminded me of the past me, misguilded beliefs.

" after all the atrocities they've committed, you still stand before me in her defense, it feels like I care more about the supers than you" I spoke squeezing my face in a frown, I had to, to hide my relief.

" I believe everyone changes, knight, you are the best example, so for old time sake, let this one live" he pleaded, bringing out the past.

Shing! sheathing my sword, I turned my back on him to hide my expression, before speaking.

"I will spare her, but never come between me and my oat again, or I will cut you down" I said, but really I was relieved.

........

In the containment cell, inside was pure white, the chair, bed, and even the walls, were white, the wall were line with a cushion, to prevent the prisoner from attempting suicide, laying there on the floor was the same, red hair lady whose, life was spared, laying there sprawled on the floor, lost in thoughts.

' what have we done, we've killing people who didn't even want to hurt us, destroying innocent life, families we destroyed, just because stories we were told, how do we even know if they were real, we called them infected, monsters, but maybe the real monsters have always been us'
