Player reactions to Meteoric Salvation varied, but without a doubt, it brought immense attention to Honkai Impact 3rd.
Over on Elysia's side, after Himeko and Kiana ended their stream, she continued chatting with her viewers for another half hour about Honkai Impact 3rd before logging off, fully satisfied.
"Ah~~"
Elysia stretched, then thanked Eden, who had been beside her all afternoon: "Thanks for staying with me, Eden."
"It was just sitting and chatting with you, Elysia. Nothing strenuous," Eden gently shook her head, her voice warm like a big sister who could embrace all.
"That's not it~~ I feel especially in the zone when Eden is with me~~" Elysia emphasized how important Eden was to her.
"Really? Hearing that from you makes me happy."
Eden smiled at her, then glanced at the setting sun outside. "It's getting late. I'll go get ready—shall we head out for dinner?"
"Okay~~" Elysia answered cheerfully, and Eden got up and left.
Once Eden was gone, Elysia tidied up a bit, then opened the group chat since there was still no response from her.
Elysia: [What a delightful and fulfilling day~♪]
She sent the message, but it seemed no one in the group was free to reply.
Mobius: [Looks like our big sister Mei is going to suffer soon. How… "worrisome."]
Vill-V: [Big sister?]
Mobius: [Hmm?]
Vill-V: [Nothing. Ahem. I thought you'd be more concerned about World Serpent than Mei's story.]
Mobius: [Seems like you've caught on.]
Vill-V: [Well, it's kind of obvious.]
Mobius: [Indeed. Painfully obvious.]
Mobius and Vill-V were having an exchange that confused others in the group.
The atmosphere turned rather strange.
Of course, not everyone was affected by it.
Elysia: [What are you two talking about?]
Mobius: [Just some unproven theories.]
—Meanwhile, in a private laboratory.
On the wall, a projector displayed the symbol of "Infinity."
A green-haired woman sat cross-legged on an office chair, phone in her right hand, a bowl of instant noodles next to her left.
"World Serpent? Interesting."
Another green-haired woman walked in holding some documents.
"Dr. Mobius, these are the materials for the upcoming meeting."
She glanced at the noodles on the table and immediately frowned. "Doctor! How many times have I told you—stop eating that junk! It has no nutritional value!"
She grabbed the bowl, clearing it away. "The cafeteria has balanced meals. All you have to do is heat them up. It's very convenient."
Mobius finally looked up from her phone and gazed at her assistant.
"Klein~"
The deliberate stretch of her tone made Klein uneasy.
In a panic, Klein tried to change the subject. "Doctor, the meeting is about to start…"
Mobius reached out and pressed Klein down, cutting her off. "Did you play the game I recommended?"
"Doctor, that's not the priority right now."
Klein really wanted to steer the conversation back, but Mobius held her firmly, leaving her struggling in vain—though rather adorably.
"What do you think of it?"
"…It's fun, but it's a bit distracting from work. I don't play it much." Klein answered honestly.
"So even Klein has played it. I thought you weren't into games."
A hint of satisfaction flashed across Mobius's face. Recommending an engaging game to let Klein occasionally relax—her plan had clearly succeeded.
Of course, she wouldn't say any of that aloud.
Instead, Mobius leaned in with an imposing aura and pushed harder:
"Then what do you think of World Serpent?"
"Doctor, now is really not the time for this."
"Hmm?"
"…It kind of matches your personality."
"As expected, you think so too."
Mobius smiled as she heard Klein's response.
She brushed her fingers across her infinity-shaped earring, stood up, patted the lab coat she wore, and headed toward the exit.
"Doctor, where are you going?" Klein called out anxiously.
"You know I'll be going to Linjiang with Elysia at year-end anyway. I'm just heading out a little early."
"There's someone I really want to meet in Linjiang right now."
"Doctor, we still have a ton of meetings lined up. Like the quarterly research report coming up next—if we're absent, the lab's budget for next quarter could be cut!"
Mobius stopped walking.
"Sigh~~ I guess that is a bit of a problem."
Then she turned back to Klein with a mischievous grin.
Mobius approached Klein, pulled out her own ID badge, and clipped it onto Klein's lab coat.
"Alright, I'll be counting on you for a while—Mobius."
"With all due respect, that's not funny at all." Klein was clearly exasperated.
Mobius waved her hand dismissively. "Because I'm Mobius, they'll understand. Now go. Don't keep them waiting."
"…"
Klein was silent for a moment before muttering, "Dr. Mobius, please show some respect for everyone's eyesight and intelligence."
"Don't call me Mobius!"
Mobius put her hands on her hips, pretending to be angry. "Now you have to call me Klein—it's more convincing."
"Doctor, this is just too—"
"Alright, alright. It's settled."
Mobius pushed Klein out of the lab, then smiled and patted her on the shoulder.
"But Doctor, is this really okay…"
"Klein~"
Mobius intentionally sounded a little aggrieved:
"You know how every time I see them racking their brains at those meetings, like trying to solve calculus with elementary school math—I just don't want to make them suffer anymore."
"So," her tone lifted, "Klein will understand my noble intentions, right?"
"Doctor…"
Klein blinked, hesitated to speak, and finally sighed. "Fine. I'll go in your place."
"I'm counting on you, Klein." Mobius nodded with satisfaction.
Then, impatiently, she left.
Her destination—Linjiang!
