Chapter 6: The Art Of Cultivation

Kian was feeling light and anew but he knew he couldn't stop just now and after not mulling over thoughts he closed his eyes and started cultivating again. He felt a similar kind of pain but the intensity was nowhere near the first cycle because the first cycle had a new kind of energy enter his body and spiritual energy being the most potent energy in this universe it had some some kind of affects though not life threatening.

It was akin to taking a potent drug(medicine okay: don't look at me like that) and your head fills dizzy for some time because your body is adjusting to the influx of new chemicals in your body so it needs some time to stabilise and once you become a frequent user of prescribed medicine you won't feel a thing. In a similar fashion Kian was undergoing the baptism of cultivation but the only upside of cultivation over prescribed medications is that it had no life threatening side affects no matter how much you intake but this couldn't be said for a potent medicine.

Rafael watched Kian and marvelled at the speed which he was advancing, he was flabbergasted and had no doubt that he was the son of Avian Alvarez and Anaya Sumak.

"No doubt he is their son and that old monster's grandson. I mean this kind of speed otherwise is unheard of." What he just said was true because for a first timer this pace was unheard of. For an average person the time he would take to make the first cycle complete is more than 5 days and yet here Kian did it in his first try.

But it was not just the potential or talent that mattered for the pace of your cultivation but the mindset because without a fighting attitude you would give up the moment there was slight discomfort and the mindset of Kian was that of a beast. From a young age he was hated for being poor and also because he was a genius so his encounters with bullies was nothing new. At first he was afraid and was beaten but after that first encounter he found out that the more he feared something the more it would haunt him and this vicious cycle would go on and on. So the next time he met with those bullies from school he fucked the shit out of them. His father exercised daily and so did Kian so he was physically a strong child. After the second encounter no one in that school bothered him because the bullies he had beaten were all one class above him. So he was immune to bullying and adversity.

The other reason he had succeeded in cultivating in such a short amount of time was because of ignorance. Yes, ignorance since he was not aware of the self imposed limitations of the humans race. Suppose if he had heard before that for the completion of the first cycle he would atleast need 5 days then no matter how much effort he put, his brain would convince his body that all of this effort is unnecessary and you cannot achieve success overnight and the brain would make the body and his mind relaxed because he would be thinking like yeah I have 5 more days to do this so I don't need to put as much effort but the reality was far from that because this was a self imposed restriction akin to some invisible chain but a chain nonetheless which could be eradicated with self belief, determination and perseverance.

But it also had advantages in making it like this as the people wouldn't burnout and collapse if they had ample time to cultivate and take breaks. They wouldn't need to overexert themselves and thirdly cultivation was not a competition because every person had their own pace and their own journey to follow. So no one was fast and no one was late. By this reason alone cultivation speed was not given as much importance as potential, character or mindset were given.

Kian was cultivating nonstop and would only take breaks after being persuaded by Rafael that even breaks are necessary for a sustainable development of his cultivation. So he shouldn't overexert himself. To which Kian responded nonchalant expression and shrugged saying," I will take breaks timely Gramps if you say so but I am not even exerting myself for an effort to be honest let alone overexerting.

Rafael looked at this little monster with irritation and sighed thinking"The cultivation world is again up for a turmoil in the near future." Shaking his head with a smile he suddenly thought about the red hue he had seen in the left eye of Kian when he came out of the pod. Thinking if he should ask about it" What is that mysterious energy ? It feels so close yet so far. What could it be ? I felt that I have known it my whole life but couldn't point it out. Should I ask him about it?" He then decided to ask the boy.

The response he got out him in more confusion.

"What are you talking about grandpa Rafael? I have no idea. What red hue? Maybe it was the virus you saw acting?"

" I think so I guess" replied Rafael but he was not convinced.

Kian was also flabbergasted" What kind of red hue grandpa Rafael is talking about? Does it mean that virus is very prominent in my body? Or am I just going to lose my eye?"

He gulped because he didn't wanted to be blind in this cruel world.

Hearing this Kian was more focused on cultivation because only by cultivating and getting into Arcane Spirit Realm would be better able to cure his virus.

Like this hours became days and two days passed like a lightning. Kian was fully focused on cultivation and only took break whenever he had to take breaks or had to clear some doubts with Rafael. The old man also assisted him with all the care and love. As he was his one of the youngest disciple and just like grandson he would explain every doubt and query of the kid with utmost care and presence.

Now they were 2 million kilometres away from Rova Province and would soon enter the airspace of Nara Province which was prohibited unless you are in an imperial envoy but that was not the case here. Rafael said to Kian"Kid now we will be descending and will authenticate ourselves and after that we will be renting a courtyard for today as it is already 5 PM and now would not be the most suitable time to take the assessment, so we shall schedule it for tommorow. Is that all right with you?"

"Yeah sounds good" as he too wanted to take break from travelling nonstop for 3 days though it didn't made him lethargic or any kind of tiredness but he still wanted to enjoy the sunshine and land.

The plane entered the border of Nara Province and were immediately told to provide their identityand purpose of visit and only then would they be alloted a parking spot for their plane. This was just the first layer of security as this was within the borders outer layer. Rafael immediately took out a device and said" The identity is Rafael Kama and the purpose of visit is Academy Entrance Assessment." As they were talking the plane was being scanned and they found everything inside of it. One of the security personnel said "Identity confirmed please do not panic as we are taking control of the plane and the parking lot has been designated you will be parked in 3..2..1."

The plane has been parked and the duo came out.

This was the first time that Kian had seen another province other than Rova. So he was excited. Because of some high tech security all of their planes sensory devices had been switched off by the security and what was odd was that even the see through glass panel were blurred by some kind of gas and their vision was blocked. So the only way he could see Nara province firsthand was through his own naked eyes. And he expected a very very high tech city but what he saw made him question his life. All he saw was a wall build so high that he was not able to fathom and its end was nowhere to be seen.

After the duo exited the plane and saw only a man standing with his hand behind his back. He immediately thought " What kind of a retard would send only 1 person to maintain the security? What if it was an ambush? " But what the little Kian did not understand was who was crazy enough to fight these mad peoples. Yes this was an officer for the security of the first layer of the Nara Province. They were handpicked from the academy's best combatants and they went through some of the most cruel training and even without that the basic requirement for this post was to have a cultivation of Arcane Spirit Realm. They were spread throughout the outer layer of the Nara Province in numbers exceeding tens of millions.

Seeing Rafael he immediately nodded as if they knew each other but that doesn't mean that he would be lenient in his security check. The man had a lean physique but it could be guessed that his body had an abnormal amount of strength. He took out a token and talked through it as if it was some kind of walkie talkie and the gate opened. The trio walked through and what Kian saw was nothing but a blockade made by some kind of opaque energy sphere at some considerable distance. Even though it was in the distance but still he couldn't find the height or the two ends with his naked eyes simply because he couldn't see that much far. Kian in his mind was intrigued"What kind of place is this first there is so big walls and gates and just after entering the gates you see an energy shield that is opaque that's similar to the walls."

But he let go of the thoughts and focused what was before him. There he saw a building which was not very big and it looked like it was deserted. The trio headed there with the security personnel leading them.

The three entered the building only for Kian to be shocked it looked like he had entered different world altogether because it was so large from inside and well there were people everywhere minding their own businesses.

"Now this is called technology.". He saw people from different races like elves, dwarves, dragons and some other races. This was a different city altogether inside a building. It was a security measure to be honest but it always made the people more excited.

The security personnel took them to a building where they would be getting some necessary items as well as for the further verification and registration of Kian for the Assessment.
