CHAPTER 90: The Sea King’s Power and Fishman Karate

"I'll give you this. I think you'll need it in the future."

After the sparring match, Mio casually tossed a Den Den Mushi to Tiger, speaking with a faintly meaningful tone.

Tiger caught the Den Den Mushi but looked at it curiously, confused. "Why did your eyes suddenly change just now?"

"Ah, just think of it as a Devil Fruit ability," Mio replied with a smile, offering no further explanation.

Tiger nodded in understanding. Having traveled around the world, he was quite familiar with the strangeness of Devil Fruits. "I see."

To him, it wasn't anything odd. There were thousands of Devil Fruits out there, each with bizarre and unpredictable powers.

"This trip to Sky Island wasn't in vain. I got to see some truly incredible sights—and I met you. You're a good human," Tiger added sincerely.

At least in his eyes, Mio wasn't prejudiced like many others. Most humans he'd encountered looked down on fishmen, and many even treated mermaids like exotic pets. But Mio was different.

"Heh." Mio just smiled and shook his head, saying nothing. Was he a good person? Maybe. But in truth, he was already considering using Tiger's future actions—especially his uprising in the Holy Land—as cover to sneak into Marijoa and obtain some valuable Devil Fruits.

Still, Tiger's words revealed he was preparing to leave.

"See you later," Mio said casually.

"Yeah," Tiger nodded, smiling. "When you visit Fishman Island, I'll be your guide. I've got a few good friends there I'd love to introduce you to."

"I'm sure I'll be heading there soon," Mio replied with a grin, though he quietly wondered whether Tiger would even make it back to Fishman Island before being captured by the World Government.

After some light conversation, Tiger turned and departed.

Once he was gone, Mio turned to his companions with a smirk. "Alright, let's move."

"Leave the gold here for now. We'll check out the poneglyph first."

Once they read the poneglyph, they could come back for the gold. After that, it'd be time to head for Bika.

He could only hope the Rumble-Rumble Fruit was still there.

At the mention of the poneglyph, Robin's eyes lit up with excitement, and she eagerly nodded.

The group made their way toward the location of the historical text. It was located under the massive golden bell in the ruins—a huge poneglyph embedded in gold, with only the engraved surface visible.

After arriving at the designated spot, Robin quickly approached the text. She pulled out a camera to record the inscription and began translating it aloud.

"This is a record of one of the three Ancient Weapons—similar to Pluton," she said as she worked.

While Robin was focused on her translation, Mio sat cross-legged beside the golden monument, staring at the inscription with a faint smile on his face.

Engraved nearby was a message from Roger—simple, but powerful. A legacy he left behind. Something like "Roger was here."

Running his fingers across the smooth, golden surface, Mio asked without looking up, "Do you know what it says?"

"I understand most of it," Robin replied, still focused. "It talks about Poseidon, one of the three Ancient Weapons, like Pluton. Poseidon is described as a being of immense power—capable of saving countless lives, but also capable of destroying the world. According to this, Poseidon is born on Fishman Island and will only appear there. When Poseidon awakens, a guide will also appear with them."

Mio's expression shifted slightly as he absorbed the information.

"So… it's mostly the same as what the original story said," Mio murmured in thought.

  Poseidon—the Sea King.

The title was no exaggeration. After all, this was a world dominated by oceans, and the Sea King ruled the Sea Kings themselves.

Just how many Sea Kings were out there? The number was frightening. With them under one's command, toppling the world would be almost trivial.

But perhaps because that power was so devastating, it ended up in the hands of a kind and naive soul like Shirahoshi.

  And the so-called guide…

  Was that Luffy?

"A terrifying power," Mio grinned as he stood. "But it's also the kind of power I want to claim."

Unfortunately, Shirahoshi hadn't been born yet. It would still be several years before her birth.

Still, that gave Mio time to grow stronger.

By the time Shirahoshi appeared, Mio intended to have already taken control of Fishman Island—and everything on it.

  "Let's go."

"Okay," Robin nodded. As she turned away, she continued thinking about the text. There were a few ancient words she didn't fully understand, so she'd need to check her notes later.

The group returned to the gold they had left behind. Although there was gold near the poneglyph, the majority was still at the ruins. But even then, there was no way they could take all of it—it was simply too much.

Just like Enel's massive golden ship in the original story, the amount of gold here could fill fleets.

Back at their stash, Mio and Warwick each picked up a large box of gold they had prepared earlier and slung it over their shoulders, heading toward the ship.

The total value was easily over a billion Berries.

Once back on the ship, Hei Yan immediately approached Mio. "Master, the people from the other ship returned briefly and then left again."

"I saw," Mio nodded and leapt lightly onto the deck. "Go fetch me some paper and a pen."

He planned to write down the basics of Fishman Karate—then pass it along to Warwick and Hei Yan for training.

Hei Yan nodded and quickly went off to retrieve the materials.

Meanwhile, the crew moved the boxes of gold into the ship's hold. Inside, it sparkled brilliantly—enough to make beds out of, if they wanted.

Not long after, Hei Yan returned with the requested items.

Mio sat down, took a swig from a bottle of rum, and began writing while instructing Erica to prepare dinner.

Once he finished jotting down the technique, the crew set sail for Bika.

As the sun dipped below the clouds, dinner was served—a lavish meal for the whole crew.

Meanwhile, on Angel Island, Gan Fall had been silently observing Mio's ship. Only when he confirmed their departure did he let out a long sigh of relief.

  "They've finally left," he muttered.

As long as Mio remained nearby, Gan Fall had been constantly on edge. Only now could he finally relax.
