THE ENCOUNTER

“Circe i think you’ve had enough”

”………………………….”

”You are so drunk, you’re finding it difficult to properly form your words……. Here, give me that bottle……”.

Meet Circe! Our Female Lead with a heart of gold, a heart so soft and tender it was easy to crush, and that……my dear readers, is where we find ourselves.

Circe just had a fallout with her celebrity billionaire boyfriend, Quentus. It unfortunately ended up with them breaking up, and like you probably guessed, left her shattered.

Why then is she in a club? Well…..she wants to forget all about her ex and focus on her self growth and prosperity. She wants to go back to being a normal teenage girl with the big dreams of being the first lady to fly a space plane…..Or at least that’s what she’s been trying to convince herself, and her best friend, Layla.

But we all know how this going to play out.

She hugged the wine bottle closely to her chest when Layla tried to reach for it

”No! No! No!….Whatd arep youd doip…ing hhh..ee..re Layla”. Missing her words? Yep, definitely drunk.

Layla frowned “You invited me to have fun!….Never would have come if i was going to be your babysitter”.

Circe chuckled, ignoring the empty glass sitting in front of her and just gulping directly from the bottle.

Dropping the almost now empty bottle on the table, she stared at Layla, and blinked…twice “Why do you have one eye Layla, are you a Cyclops?” And she chuckled.

Layla sighed exasperated “Yep! and that’s my cue to drag your drunk a** out of here”.

”Wait a Sec!” Circe insisted stopping Layla from helping her up “ I have something to tell you”.

”This had better be good”.

”Do you know what happened between us? I broke up with Quentus. It wasn't the other way round, I was the one who actually called things off with him”.

Rolling her eyes, Layla took a seat directly beside her best friend “I know sweetie, you’ve told me for like what?…a million times”.

Circe frowned ”You don’t have to be so mean about it”

She sniffed back her tears and continued “………He was cheating on me you know, with one 3rd grade b**** with the weirdest turn-off name i have ever heard. Get this, her name is Pelaporshe, like what the hell is a “Pelaporshe” Couldn’t have least cheated on me with a girl with a more classy and desirable name”.

”Really! That’s your problem”.

”I’m just trying to lighten the mood kill-joy, since you are so terrible at it”.

Layla studied her friend for a while before massaging her temples, clearly frustrated “Look Circe! I’m too sober for this. I’m just gonna head to the rest room and by the time i’m back, you had better pulled your sh** together, cause we are leaving this place”

She turned to leave but stopped and glanced back at her friend who was oblivious to her presence and was busy waving at anyone who passedvher.

”Fucking Quentus” Layla muttered before walking away.

MEANWHILE OUR FEMALE LEAD………………………….

Felt someone occupy the seat Layla just got up from “Done shitting yourself in the bathroom so quick, you scorpion?”

”Excuse me!”

That wasn’t Layla’s voice, or at least Circe did not remember it sounding so hoarse and masculine….Was she dead drunk.

She turned to the direction of the voice and her jaws dropped hard at the glorious sight that beheld her. Everything was so perfect about the god-like creature sitting beside her.

She gulped, still lost in him “Are you real”.

Fascinated with her behaviour, he smirked “Great Sight, huh!”.

That got our cinderella out of her spell. She cleared her throat, her cheeks flushing red with embarrassment “Emm…That seat, That seat actually belongs to my friend”.

”Sorry about that then” and he stood up.

”Why are you standing?”.

He furrowed his brows “Thought you wanted me gone, it’s your friend’s seat after-all”.

Averting his gaze, she pouted “Still didn’t say you should leave” he smiled, then sat down back.

He snatched a glass of champagne from the tray of one of the workers passing by and took a sip, legs crossed “So! What’s a pretty girl like you doing in a place like this?”

”Do you mean only ugly ladies come to places like this?” She replied trying to hide the fact that he’s compliment just made her heart do a somersault.

“ All i’m trying to say is that you’re clearly out of place here, but i guess it’s fine since you’ve come here to wallow in your pain of your break-up with your ex”

Her eyes immediately shot opened “How’d you know?”.

He gave a little smile as he took another sip from his glass “An almost empty bottle of champagne on the table, dressed like a college student, eyes red, bloodshot and swollen, probably from crying from too long?……Yeah, i think it’s pretty obvious”.

Circe groaned with embarrassment. Great! Now everyone knew she just came out from a broken relationship.

She drew circles around the glass in her hand “I’m actually here to celebrate. I broke up with him, now the other way around”

Yeah, Right!

He shrugged “Doesn’t look so to me but if you say so. Wanna tell me what happened?”.

She shook her head “I don’t want to talk about it, just wanna have some fun and then head home”.

A weird grin suddenly appeared on his face, as he dropped his empty glass on the table “I think i can help with that, i also came here to have some fun. Maybe we can have fun…TOGETHER!

It wasn’t a question, more like an offer and Circe was too lost in his eyes to refuse anything he said “YEAH, SURE!”

Smiling, he stood up from and extended his hands which she took with no hesitation “Maybe you ought to inform your friend of our plans to go have some FUN?”.

The emphasis on that word, so cringy.

”I think i’ll do that later, she’s probably having her own share of fun in the rest room, wouldn’t want to disturb her”.

He chuckled and Circe thought it sounded sexy “Fine by me then, shall we?”.

He gestured to the attendant in payment section as they passed by “Add the cost to my tab, we’re leaving”.

The attendant nodded like it was totally fine allowing a customer leave without paying his fees.

Circe leaned against the stranger of a guy she met just few hours ago, she was still feeling tipsy from drinking too much.

Mr Sexy smelled of fresh mint and a touch of seductive fragrance, just the way she loved her men.

She knew what she’d gotten herself into, and she was also aware that there was no going back now.

Circe needed this, a way to get Quentus out of her head, even if it was only for tonight.

She ogled at the sexy idol she was going to spend the night with, and her ears turned red when her gaze wandered to his under belt. That was a huge bulge alright!

“Today is going to be a long night” she muttered as he led her out of the venue.

INDEED IT WAS!
