The night sky was blue and the stars shone brightly. Now everything has changed, the sky has been filled with thick black clouds like ink spilled on a canvas, the clouds contain red and slightly orange lightning that continuously strikes the ground mercilessly.
Many demonic beasts are becoming increasingly wild because they feel the great power of revenge on Mount Jian Ning. The roar of the demonic beasts made the aura around the mountain even more chaotic.
The flow of energy that spread everywhere caused a quarter of the forest under the mountain to be destroyed and burned.
Bai Zing, who was isolating himself, suddenly woke up feeling the erratic energy of the demonic beasts.
He suddenly opened his eyes with a terrifying gaze and his hand released the same claws as when he killed Lin Jiang.
"Who dares to come to this place?!" Bai Zing felt a very strong qi aura—different from the demonic beast energy under the mountain.
His steps were drawn by the flow of Yin Moon spiritual stone energy as if something was calling him.
"What is happening, how can that energy move on its own?!" Bai Zing heard the voices of two people near him, about 20-40 meters away. When he arrived, he only saw one person in that place.
He saw that person absorbing the energy of the yin moon spiritual stone, he also saw that person being illuminated by the full moon which made the incident even stranger.
Sometime before Bai Zing arrived at that place, Lin Jiang and the Night Goddess were talking about his power a little.
"What do you mean by successor? I don't want to be anyone's successor if it's only to be used," Lin Jiang said to the night goddess.
"Don't worry, Lin Jiang, I have no other intention than to give you this power," the night goddess's face became a little nervous.
"In this world, there is no such thing as a free item, let alone this great power, quickly tell me what you want?."
The night goddess exhaled heavily, her face becoming a little pale.
"Alright, because you are too clever to be deceived, I will tell you the truth. There has been chaos in the realm of the gods, there is a cursed god who wants you as a world-destroying pawn, so I hurried here and chose you first before that god."
Lin Jiang laughed a little, looking at the night sky and the stars. "So this is the destiny I got? Will I always be someone's pawn? don't I have the freedom to live? hahaha. Destiny, you don't have a fair attitude towards everyone."
"Lin Jiang, I have to go and I don't have much time left. But you don't worry, when the full moon comes, I will come back," said the Night Goddess who began to walk up through the moonlight before finally she disappeared.
The departure of the night goddess revealed a silhouette in the sky like a god who was forcibly pulling a creature that was there with ease.
A bitter laugh came out of his mouth, his physique slowly changed starting from his snow-white hair, his pale face, his silvery eyes.
This was because Lin Jiang absorbed too much yin moon spiritual stone energy.
"Night Goddess... you placed your hopes in the wrong person. I am not a hero who obeys fate—I am just someone who chooses my path."
The night air became increasingly chilling, the sky rumbled as if it would collapse from heaven, and the temperature around became colder because of Lin Jiang's yin spiritual energy.
Bai Zing dared to speak firmly to Lin Jiang who was filled with yin energy.
That energy was so thick that the area around it became slightly frozen.
"Hey, who are you?!" Bai Zing's shout sounded very rough like paper being torn apart. "Why are you taking my yin moon spiritual stone energy?!"
Lin Jiang turned slowly. His eyes, as cold as ice in the middle of winter, stared at Bai Zing without emotion. His hair, as white as morning mist, moved gently in the night wind.
"Have you forgotten, Bai Zing?" he said in a voice as soft as silk but with an opposite view.
"What do you mean?" asked Bai Zing who was a little sweaty.
Lin Jiang's hand, which had snow-white hair, controlled all the yin moon spiritual stones that were gathered around him.
"Humans can always forget something easily. I am Lin Jiang who you killed this afternoon," said Lin Jiang who had white hair.
"What?! Impossible, you should have died!!" he shouted in disbelief. "How can you have spiritual power?!"
Lin Jiang gathered spiritual energy in his hand, the energy began to spin.
He played with it calmly while talking, he was like he already knew who the winner was this time.
"In this world, nothing is impossible. I always think, what would it be like to torture someone without killing them first."
Bai Zing began to be afraid of the words that Lin Jiang said.
"Damn! It seems like he wants to kill me cruelly!" he whispered to himself.
"Why are you just staring at me this time? Don't you want to kill me anymore? Oh, is it because I have this power? How funny, where is your cruel nature?" Lin Jiang who was still floating and surrounded by spiritual energy made him look more like a cultivator who had a high realm.
"You!!" Bai Zing clenched his hands tightly, his face became very, very annoyed, but he couldn't act rashly, if he was rash he might die.
"Damn! why can't I see the level of the realm he has!" Bai Zing muttered, biting his teeth hard, his expression mixed with fear and annoyance.
Lin Jiang radiated the spiritual aura in his hand. That aura surrounded Bai Zing but not to be absorbed, instead, the energy made him feel suffocated and unable to move at all.
"I've always wondered... they say a cultivator has something special like immortality or something else, so let's start the experiment," Lin Jiang's hand which was initially open now began to clench hard followed by the sound of bones breaking, squeezing an orange that had no skin.
Bai Zing screamed in pain when Lin Jiang's hand clenched.
"Ahh!! What are you doing to me?!" Bai Zing shouted as his body began to crumble like a squeezed orange.
Blood spurted out profusely, soaking the dry ground. Bai Zing's bones were crushed under the invisible pressure of energy like glass being hit by a hammer. His eyes widened wildly, his eyeballs slowly pushed out—as if wanting to escape from the crumbling body.
"Ah, it seems like a cultivator doesn't have anything special at all," said Lin Jiang, seeing Bai Zing being tortured and slowly losing his life.
Lin Jiang's gaze was like he did not pity at all. His face was flat and expressionless. With a hand gesture like shooing away a fly, Lin Jiang cut off his spiritual flow. All that was left of Bai Zing was a bloody lump of flesh.
The night wind whispered as he turned around—there was still one place to visit before dawn. Lin Jiang walked towards the Yin Moon spiritual stone mine. His body was still weak—he had only reached the sixth level of the Qi Gathering realm. Bai Zing was already at the peak of Foundation Establishment, almost breaking through to the next realm. But tonight, the power of the moon gave him a chance.
Before he went to the spiritual stone mine, he felt someone watching the incident.
"It seems like an ant has found something big, huh?" he said without looking at that person. "Yes, even though one ant won't be able to kill a praying mantis, but still, one day it will call its friends and kill that praying mantis."
Lin Jiang was able to kill Bai Zing because he also absorbed the spiritual energy of the full moon which made him have power equivalent to Bai Zing.
That night, a slave woke up hearing a commotion in the food queue area, because the slave was curious, he came to that place by sneaking behind the big trees. After he arrived at that place, he was so surprised to see Bai Zing had been killed sadistically.
The slave put on a scared face, even unintentionally a few tears fell, he fell backward to the ground because he was so scared.
"W-What is this, who killed him so sadistically like this?" sitting on the ground his body trembled in fear, he didn't even seem to have the strength to leave that place anymore.
"Like you are the ant I was talking about," said Lin Jiang who was suddenly behind that helpless slave.
The slave turned around and begged in front of Lin Jiang.
"M-Master Immortal, please—" He said tremblingly, his hands shaking like dry leaves in autumn.
Lin Jiang raised his hand, spiritual energy spinning at the tip of his finger.
"Sorry, little ant. You saw something you shouldn't have."
Sreeett!
The slave's body was split before his voice was finished, and blood spurted out like a mini waterfall.
His eyes were still wide open—still full of hope that he didn't have time to lose Lin Jiang left those two corpses lying there.
Not long after, he arrived in front of the Mine, even though it was late, it turned out that there were still people patrolling to guard the mine.
"Halt! Who are you?!" shouted the first guard, his spear glinting in the moonlight. Lin Jiang did not answer.
Just stepped forward. The second guard moved his finger, forming a seal to call an alarm—but that hand was cut off before he could finish the movement.
"You guys are too slow," Lin Jiang whispered before their heads were thrown away.
"You are just insects while I am an eagle eating snacks before the main course."
