Chapter 17: Entering the Lake of Life

"Dong!"

"Dong!"

"Dong!"

The Dark Demon Evil God Tiger had already abandoned its pride in order to survive, kneeling on the ground, continually kowtowing to Fu Ye, begging for mercy.

The humanoid creature in front of it was simply too bizarre. The Dark Demon Evil God Tiger dared not gamble its life with this strange being in the life-and-death arena.

"Have you thought it through?" Fu Ye inquired, his eyes glinting as he observed the tiger kneeling before him, offering an apology. A playful smile crept up on his lips.

"Master, I was blind! I failed to recognize your greatness! From now on, I will be your most loyal servant. I will follow any command you give!"

Fu Ye couldn't help but smirk. He wasn't convinced of this tiger's loyalty, but with the power of his system, a simple talisman could make anyone—tiger or otherwise—his most loyal servant.

"In that case, if you're going to follow me, there are things you'll have to give up. I wonder if you have any objections?" Fu Ye asked, his tone cold yet oddly humane. After all, if the tiger was going to follow him, it had to let go of certain things. He was offering it a chance at a clean death, should it refuse.

"No problem! Absolutely no problem!" the tiger responded eagerly, before suddenly howling in pain, "Ah!!!!"

A flash of colorful light erupted as the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger was instantly transformed. Blood oozed from its lower body as it collapsed in agony. The Titan Giant Ape and Azure Bull Python, who had been silently watching, exchanged fearful glances.

Fu Ye paid little attention to their discomfort. He was a tyrant, after all, and anyone who followed him had to be either a girl or a eunuch.

He casually stuffed a golden talisman and a powerful recovery pill into the tiger's mouth. The tiger's wounds healed instantly, but things that hadn't existed before couldn't be restored. The pill's power was to heal injuries, not bring back what was lost.

The Dark Demon Evil God Tiger's eyes, once filled with fierce pride, now revealed a childlike stupidity. It was still intelligent and strong, but it was now completely subservient to Fu Ye's will.

"Master!" the tiger mewed, rolling over to expose its belly in an almost comical display of submission. The Titan Giant Ape and Azure Bull Python watched in stunned horror.

However, as the tiger rolled over, the two ancient beasts couldn't help but notice something… rather awkward. The tiger's… male pride had been severed.

This discovery left the two soul beasts cold with dread.

"You two, are you in charge here?" Fu Ye casually kicked the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger aside, turning his gaze to the Titan Giant Ape and Azure Bull Python, who were frozen in place.

"Yes, what brings you here?" the Azure Bull Python responded. His voice was courteous, polite—clearly recognizing Fu Ye's immense power.

"Nothing in particular, just wandering around," Fu Ye replied nonchalantly. "By the way, I wanted to see the local customs and animals of the Star Dou Great Forest."

He pointed at Xiao Wu, the big white rabbit, who was still lying on the ground not far from them.

"This little rabbit tried to sneak attack me earlier. I want her to take me to visit your core area. Is that a good request?"

Though it was phrased as a question, Fu Ye's tone was commanding, leaving no room for disagreement.

"Xiao Wu," the Azure Bull Python said, his voice filled with helplessness. The strength of Fu Ye was simply too terrifying. The Dark Demon Evil God Tiger, a 50,000-year-old beast, had been brought to its knees and was now begging for mercy. Had Fu Ye chosen to target them, they would have been done for.

Xiao Wu hesitated, clearly uneasy under the gaze of the two beast kings. She rubbed her paws together, a nervous gesture.

"Xiao Wu, just take this senior to visit us," the Azure Bull Python added, almost pleading. He recognized the futility of opposing Fu Ye's overwhelming strength.

"I understand. I'm sorry, Daming, Erming," Xiao Wu apologized softly.

Fu Ye withdrew his pressure, allowing the three beast kings to move again. The big white rabbit, Xiao Wu, hopped forward and obediently squatted next to Fu Ye.

Fu Ye wasted no time. He climbed onto the rabbit's back and grabbed her ears, not the least bit shy. "Ying, don't pull on the ears."

Xiao Wu was faster than both the Titan Giant Ape and Azure Bull Python. She darted through the forest at top speed, with Fu Ye holding onto her ears like a roller coaster ride. Behind them, the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger, now a loyal slave, followed closely behind.

Two and a half minutes later, Xiao Wu brought Fu Ye to the true core area of the Star Dou Great Forest: the Lake of Life.

As they arrived, Fu Ye felt the concentration of soul power in the air intensify. The mist rising from the lake created an ethereal atmosphere.

At the lakeside, a beautiful girl was gathering water. Her steps were graceful, and her aura was serene.

Upon seeing Xiao Wu return, the girl's expression shifted to one of mild anger.

"Xiao Wu, I've told you countless times that it's dangerous outside. You must stay here. Do you understand?" The girl's voice was calm but firm.

At the mention of Xiao Wu's name, Fu Ye's voice rang out, "So your name is Xiao Wu. It's a lovely name."

The girl's eyes widened in shock at the strange voice, and she immediately summoned five soul rings—two yellow, two purple, and one black. She stood on high alert, her eyes filled with nervous tension as she glanced at Xiao Wu with regret.

"Xiao Wu!"

The girl's voice carried a clear trace of anger, and the big white rabbit lowered her head, unable to meet the girl's gaze.

Suddenly, a dark figure emerged behind them, and the girl in the pink skirt stiffened upon recognizing the figure.

"The Dark Demon Evil God Tiger? How did it get here? Where are Daming and Erming?" she demanded, her voice rising in alarm.

But before she could take action, she saw the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger lying on the ground in a submissive position, begging to be touched.

"Bang!"

"Ouch~~"

Fu Ye had no interest in the tiger's pathetic display. He gave the creature a swift kick, causing the tiger to let out a miserable howl.

Ignoring the tiger, Fu Ye turned to the girl standing by the Lake of Life.

"So, this is Xiao Wu's mother? She doesn't look too old," Fu Ye mused, observing the girl.

Xiao Wu's mother had only recently undergone her transformation. Despite her youthful appearance, she was technically only around eighteen or nineteen years old. She maintained a strict yet gentle demeanor around Xiao Wu.

But since Fu Ye was a guest, it was only proper to follow etiquette.

"Hello, Miss. I've come here because of your reputation. I hope you will forgive me for disturbing you," Fu Ye said politely, acknowledging her presence.
