Chapter Twenty Nine (Dad's death).

Vincent's POV.

As we reached the destination, I swiftly exited the vehicle, my firearm secured at my back. Mr. Harrison followed suit. I approached him to extend my greetings while preparations unfolded around us.

"I apologize for the disruption, sir," I said, bowing my head in a gesture of contrition.

"As long as she's safe," he replied, hands clasped behind him, surveying the surroundings.

At that moment, a man in a black car rushed over, waving at Mr. Harrison as he made his way toward him.

"She's been bleeding and is unconscious," he informed Mr. Harrison, stealing a glance my way.

"I'm West, Sir Vincent," he introduced himself, extending his hand to me with a bow.

"Pleasure to meet you. Were you able to stop the bleeding?" I inquired about Blossom.

"Yes, sir, but we must act quickly; they've tagged her and are likely already in pursuit," he explained urgently.

"They're already here." I raised my gaze to see three vans filled with armed men approaching.

I stood tall, my gun at the ready. "Everyone, ready your position!" I yelled, my voice echoing through the deserted alley.

Mr. Harrison nodded curtly, his eyes scanning the horizon. His men and my men fanned out, forming a semi-circle around us.

Nathan's gang poured out of the vans, armed to the teeth. Nathan himself emerged, a sneer twisting his face. "You think you can protect her? Oh and there's the famous Harrison! Such a pleasure to meet you." he taunted, his voice dripping with malice.

I gritted my teeth. "I'll kill you before you even get close to her."

The battle erupted, guns blazing as both sides exchanged fire. I fought with a fierce determination, my eyes scanning the chaos for any sign of Blossom's movement in the car.

Mr. Harrison moved with deadly precision, taking down multiple opponents with swift efficiency. His men fought valiantly, but Nathan's gang had sheer numbers on their side.

I took down opponent after opponent, my gun firing steadily. But there were too many of them. I could feel the odds stacking against us.

Sharly too hard improved in her fighting and was surprisingly taking down a lot of men.

Just when it seemed like we were gaining ground, a fresh wave of attackers emerged from the vans. I swore under my breath, my heart racing with adrenaline.

That's when I saw her. Blossom stumbled out of the car, her eyes unfocused. My heart stopped as I realized she was walking right into the battle zone.

"Get out of there!" I screamed at her, but it was too late.

Nathan's eyes locked onto Blossom, a cruel smile spreading across his face. "Perfect timing," he sneered, raising his gun.

I reacted instinctively, sprinting towards Blossom. But I was too far away.

Mr. Harrison threw himself in front of Blossom, taking the bullet meant for her. I watched in horror as he crumpled to the ground.

A red-hot rage consumed me. I emptied my clip into Nathan's gang, taking down anyone who stood in my way until I got to the insolent fool that took the shot.

Just as Nathan's finger tightened on the trigger, I burst forth from the chaos, my eyes blazing with fury. "You're not taking anyone again fool!!" I bellowed, my gun trained squarely on Nathan.

With a swift, deadly motion, I fired, and Nathan's gun hand exploded in a crimson burst. His eyes widened in shock as he stumbled backward, clutching his mangled hand.

I advanced on him, my gun still trained on his forehead. "You shot Mr Harrison," I growled, my voice low and menacing. " Do you not have any fear at all? You're just a stupid dog that Crimson's using."

With one final, merciless pull of the trigger, I ended his existence. His body crumpled to the ground, defeated.

I stumbled forward, my eyes fixed on Blossom. She was kneeling beside her father's nearly lifeless body, tears streaming down her face.

I dropped to my knees beside her, wrapping my arms around her. "I'm so sorry," I whispered, holding her close.

But Blossom just sobbed, her body shaking with grief, her eyes were sunk in and we're darkened. She looked pale and weak. I held her tighter, feeling guilty.

West immediately ran over to Mr Harrison's jecking body.

"No, no!!! Don't go!" He cried as he leaned over and held Mr Harrison hand tight.

Blossom stared at her father with her tear-stained face, I knew that I had failed her. I had failed to protect her father.

"It's all my fault." She muttered.

"It's always my fault!!" She cried out in pain.

Blossom's POV

"My dear Blossom, I ask for your forgiveness. I've caused so much pain to you and your mother. Please tell her how sorry I am, and I hope one day she'll find it in her heart to forgive me. I came here with the intention of sharing this with you, but then I learned from a call that you were facing difficulties." He gestured towards the man who aided me.

"This is West. He's your half-brother, Blossom. He's older than you— I met his mother before I met yours. Sadly, she passed away after giving birth to him, so I entrusted him to her parents and fled, feeling like a coward. I had nothing back then. I apologize to both of you." His voice trembled.

"He's not the only child I have, as you know. I recognize it's a lot to ask of both of you, but I wish for you all to embrace one another with love, including the two younger ones. Please care for them, regardless of your mother or their mother's past. You should stand together, supporting each other in times of trouble. The world can be harsh, and it's important you don't face it alone." He held both of our hands tightly.

"Vincent," he uttered while drawing him in closer.

"I'm entrusting my daughter to you. Please care for her; I know she can be quite headstrong at times. But whatever you do, don't let her slip away."

"Absolutely, sir!" Vincent responded, his tone unwavering and serious.

"Tell Blue and Brixton to take care." With that, his head fell heavily into my arms.

*Have you ever felt the death of someone weighing on you with regret?*

I held my father's lifeless body, feeling a wave of regret wash over me. Why had I been so stubborn? Why had I run away from him, ignored his calls, and disrespected him?

Tears streamed down my face as I remembered all the times he had shown me love and concern. The way he had always been there for me, even when I didn't want him to be. The way he had protected me, even if it was in an overprotective way.

I recalled the times he had taken me to the park, bought me ice cream, and listened to me talk about my dreams. I remembered the way he had smiled at me, the way his eyes had lit up with pride.

But I had been blind to it all. I had been so caught up in my own anger and resentment towards some of his stupid mistakes that I hadn't seen the love he had for me.

Now, it was too late. He was gone, and I was left with the weight of my regret.

I looked up at Vincent, West, and the others, my eyes pleading with them to bring my father back. But I knew it was impossible.

As the reality of my loss sunk in, I felt my body begin to shake. I felt my heart breaking, my soul crushing.

And then, I remembered the words my father had spoken to me, West, and Vincent. His final words.

"Love each other with all your heart... The world is vicious, and you can't stand alone."

I took a deep breath, trying to compose myself. But it was no use. The pain was too much, the regret too overwhelming.

I looked up at the sky, my eyes searching for answers. But there were none.

*To anyone who is hearing this, please don't make the same mistake I did. Don't let your pride and anger consume you. Don't let they're mistakes create a drift between you and them. Don't ignore the people who love you, who care for you.*

My body shaking uncontrollably.

*Because when they're gone, it's too late. You can't bring them back, no matter how hard you try.*

I paused, taking a deep breath.

*So love them, cherish them, appreciate them. Because in the end, that's all that matters.*

I immediately felt my body give out. I felt myself falling, felt Vincent's arms catch me.

And then, everything went black.
