Chapter Thirty One (Shares).

We gathered in the dimly lit study. Mr. Thompson, Dad's trusted assistant, stood before us, his eyes somber.

"The time has come to settle your father's estate," he began, his voice low and measured. "As you know, he was a man of considerable wealth and property. He wanted to ensure that each of you received a fair share of his legacy."

West, as the eldest, received the largest share, including the family's ancestral home and several lucrative business ventures. Blossom, received a significant portion of Dad's real estate holdings, as well as a controlling interest in one of his companies. Brixton and Blue, the youngest, received smaller but still substantial shares, including trust funds and investments that would mature in time.

As Mr. Thompson finished outlining the details of our inheritances, he paused, his eyes misting over.

"Your father wanted me to share one final message with you," he said, his voice cracking. "He loved each of you more than words can express. He was proud of the people you've become and the potential he saw in each of you."

Mr. Thompson cleared his throat, composing himself.

"He also wanted to remind you that with great power comes great responsibility. He entrusted each of you with a piece of his legacy, and he expects you to use it wisely."

As Mr. Thompson finished speaking, the room fell silent. We looked at each other, the weight of our father's words settling upon us. We knew that we had big shoes to fill, but we were determined to make him proud.

As Mr. Thompson departed, we stood there in silence for a moment, processing the weight of our father's legacy. Then, Blue, the youngest of us all, a teenager with a sarcastic streak, spoke up.

"Great, just what I always wanted. A trust fund and a lifetime supply of therapy bills," she said, rolling her eyes.

We laughed, and the tension in the room dissipated. West shook his head, chuckling.

"Only you, Blue," he said, smiling.

I smiled too, feeling a sense of relief wash over me. Brixton ruffled Blue's hair, and she swatted at him, laughing.

"Hey, watch it, Brixton," she said, grinning.

Blue, bouncing up and down on the couch, turned to West. "So, senior bro, what's your story? What have you been up to all these years?"

West smiled, seeming to relax into the conversation. "Well, Blue, I've been keeping busy with work. I've been running my own business for a few years now."

Brixton's eyes lit up with interest. "No way! What kind of business?"

West leaned back in his chair. "I'm in tech. I've been developing some new software."

Blue's eyes widened. "Whoa, that's so cool! I'm more of a creative type myself. I love art and music."

I smiled, happy to see Blue opening up. "No way, art and music is my thing too!."

Blue grinned. "Wow, I guess we have so much in common! I've been thinking about starting my own YouTube channel."

Brixton chuckled. "You'd be a natural. You're already so dramatic."

Blue playfully hit Brixton on the arm. "Shut up, Brixton! I'm just passionate, okay?"

" I remember going all social media-ish at your age and sheesh!! It didn't end well for me." I shaked my head in disappointment.

The room erupted into laughter, and for a moment, we forgot about our grief. We were just siblings, joking around and having fun.

"But, I've got to say I am curious as to how you ended up with Vincent.

Not trying to pick offense or anything... Just curious." West stated as stared at me.

The others joined too, looking at me with curious faces.

"Okay, I think we're all curious." He added.

I sighed and sinked into my chair as they eagerly awaited my response.

"Ahhcck, alright. I really hate explaining this though." I rolled my eyes.

"My friend's decided it was a great idea to celebrate me getting a new job after I arrived at Canada, so we went to a party... And everything unfolded just like that." They're interested faces all turned to frowns.

"Come onnnn. We can't tell the rest. Pleaseeee." Blue begged me to continue.

"I don't know why you guy's are so interested but if you say so.

I was discussing with an old friend at the party then I noticed he was staring at me and that was how we met.

Eventually a month into my job at the same company, Vincent appeared out of nowhere and surprisingly knew the CEO, who was his brother by the way." I quoted.

"Wow, so it's like the both of you where fated to meet."Blue said waving her hands in the air.

"I don't think life works like that Blue." Brixton said to her.

"Well I think it does." She puffed her chest and placed her hands on her hips.

"Should I stop?" I asked eagerly.

"No!!" She screamed immediately.

"Yeah, so the CEO told me I was going to be transferred to Vincent's company and I resigned instead." I immediately buried my face to the ground feeling a wave of shame.

"Wow!" Brixton exclaimed.

"Why?" Blue asked.

"I didn't like his feel. ", I chuckled.

"So I started a job at the mall, he eventually followed me there, proposed the deal again, I declined.

And later he kidnapped me and forced me to sign an ownership contract. And there you have it" I smiled and looked at all of their hurrified and shocked faces.

"No way!, That was crazyyy." Brixton exclaimed.

"Yep, look I'm only telling you guy's because we're siblings and I should be able to trust you. Please don't go ratting this out to anyone." I pleaded with them and they all nodded in agreement.

"You know, you actually made it worse for yourself sis. If you had accepted being transferred to his company it would have been better or even if you accepted his second offer.

Now he owns you!" She looked a bit terrified.

"Yeah, I already know that. Thanks." I smiled sarcastically.

"I think he likes you." Blue giggled out.

The air in the room suddenly tensed as the same thing must have been going on in their mind.

"So what kind of things, does he make you do?" West asked.

"Ummm, not much really he made me his assistant back at the office but as things started getting complicated and unsafe.

He stopped me from going." I explained.

"Don't you think he's really nice to you? Nice to point there should be side benefits." Brixton stated.

"Don't tell me you guy's are doing stuffs!!" Blue said mischievously.

"Doing stuff's?! Stuff's like what?

As a matter of fact, I highly doubt that. I despise him and he kinda treats me like shit, so ya." I lied in so many different ways I couldn't understand.

"Seems to me like he treats you perfectly fine, compared to how he really treats shit." West nodded in clearance.

"You've known him before?" I asked him surprisingly.

"Not know him, heard of him. He's a Mafia legend, Blossom. Not only in Canada, almost every where." He said seriously.

*Well, he doesn't look like that kind of person to me. Of course I know he's a Mafia but not as intense as West just explained. I guess.*

"Are you sure?" I asked him confusion clearly written on my face.

"Do I look like I'm joking?" He said seriously.

"Why is he so popular-" I was cut off.

*Ring*

West's phone chimed.

"It's my wife, I have to go. You all should take care, we'll meet up very soon. I'll send you guy's the address", and he dashed out of the room.

*Whoa! He's married?!*
