It was already midnight. Mike had gone home after saying he would come back tomorrow. Now that I was alone, I finally had time to look around and take everything in.
The room was nothing like a normal hospital room.
It was large and fancy, like a five-star hotel. The blanket had a logo stitched on it—Lumora University Medical Center (LUMC). Even the elevator outside the door looked special. It needed a fingerprint to use, which meant not just anyone could go in or out. I must be in a VIP ward.
From the big glass windows, I could see the whole city below. The place I was in was called Lumora, a big city filled with skyscrapers, bright lights, and glowing signs. Far in the distance, I saw a calm bay called Veris Bay, sparkling under the moonlight. Everything looked modern and expensive.
How much does this room cost per night? I wondered. I hoped my so-called unknown brothers had enough money to pay for it. If not, things might get worse for me.
I sighed and leaned back on the soft pillows. The name of the city, the country—Velmaria—none of them sounded familiar. This world was strange. Different from my world.
Is this a book? A web novel? Something I had read once but forgotten? I thought. I tried to remember, but my head was foggy. I couldn't think of anything clearly. It was like a dream I had once but forgot.
If I'm here… in this body… then what happened to the real Mia? Where is she now? And my original body—did I die back there? Was I just erased from my own world like I never existed?
The thought made my chest tighten.
What if I can't go back? What happens to my real body if I stay here too long? Will it wither away in some hospital bed… or worse, rot alone, forgotten?
Mia
That name was mine. From my real world. And the girl I've become is also called Mia.
Was that just a coincidence?
I pulled the blanket tighter around me. The room was warm, but I felt a chill deep inside.
Who is she? Who am I now?
And most of all—
What kind of story have I fallen into?

"Mia Isabella! There you are!"
A loud, thunderous voice yanked me from sleep — followed by a painful, choking grip around my neck. I gasped, clawing at the hand tightening like a vice.
"Do you know how many days I've searched for you?!" the man roared in my face, his fury scorching. "How dare you try to drug me! You think faking an illness will earn my forgiveness for what you did that night?!"
My eyes widened in panic. A man stood before me — tall, immaculately dressed in a three-piece suit, his obsidian black hair slicked back, his amber color eyes burning with rage.
Who is he? Who is Mia Isabella? Is he talking to me?!
"I— WHO… WHO ARE YOU?! I DON'T KNOW YOU!! LET ME GO!! HELP…ME!!!" I screamed, kicking, struggling with all the strength I could muster. The world blurred with tears and fear as the pain in my throat worsened. I couldn't breathe—
"Sir! Stop—What are you doing?! Let her go! She's a patient!"
A nurse rushed in, trying to pry his hands off my neck, but he didn't budge. His fury drowned out reason.
"Don't interfere!" he snapped at the nurse, then turned his scalding glare back to me. "And you! Still pretending? Amnesia now, huh? What's next, coma? You really think this pitiful act will make me forget what you did?"
Finally, he released me. I collapsed against the pillows, coughing and gasping for air. My vision spun. My throat burned.
He reached into his coat pocket and pulled out a paper, eyes cold with disgust.
"Here," he said, throwing the paper in my face. "This is the annulment agreement. Sign it, and disappear from my eyes forever. I would never marry a filthy woman who uses drugs to trap a man into bed!"
I stared at him, stunned, my body trembling.
Who is this monster in a perfect suit? How dare he touch me?! Who the hell raised this man—wolves?! His handsome face was wasted. Beautiful, yes — but twisted by arrogance and cruelty.
Damn! Who the hell are you, Mia Isabella? What kind of fucking mess did you get yourself into before I woke up in your place!

Lucas Vellard. Twenty-five years old. The youngest heir of the powerful Vellard family—one of the wealthiest families in the country. A tech genius and founder of a cutting-edge company called LUKA, he's also the supposed fiancé of the Ceneric family's infamous young lady—Mia Isabella.
After catching my breath from the earlier chaos, I grabbed the phone on the bedside table. Technically, it's not mine… it's Mia's. Thankfully, it only took face recognition to unlock it.
How did I find out about my alleged fiancé? Simple. His name was printed in bold on the annulment paper he threw at my face like I was filth.
I typed his name into the search bar—Lucas Vellard.
And there he was. Countless articles. Business awards. Fashion magazine covers. All painting him as a golden boy with unmatched looks and genius-level intellect. The country's most desired bachelor… who just tried to strangle me and called me trash.
Rich guy, huh?
SCREW YOU, LUCAS!
You want me to sign that stupid paper right? Fine. I'll sign it, frame it, and gift wrap it in gold if you want. Just wait!
