Chapter 73 - Shatter the Stillness

"Now, bring that sword back. We don't have much time," Veil instructed the Elder Lich, voice sharp with urgency.

The Lich raised its ancient, jagged scythe and began slicing into the dungeon core—carefully, as if peeling through the layers of fabric.

"It will take time to change this crystal... and bring the sword back," voice coarse like sand grinding against bone.

Its skeletal finger stretched toward the distance.

"Handle the anomaly. I won't be disturbed."

Veil looked confused. "Anomaly?"

That's when I stepped forward from the fog.

Before me, Miss Sera and Miss Kaelyn lay on the ground—barely conscious, their faces pale, bodies trembling. Around them, adventurers and knights were scattered like broken puppets, gasping, defeated.

"What's… happening here?" My voice came out hollow, drained.

"Alve? You're here too?" Miss Sera weakly looked up.

Kaelyn turns her head taking one glance at me and froze.

"What's happened to you, child? Why do you look like that?"

It was the first time I had ever seen that look on Miss Sera's face. Not anger. Not focus. Just… despair.

"I said, what the hell—"

And then I saw it.

The head.

The king's severed head, lying on the ground.

Everything inside me just stopped. My thoughts. My senses. My voice.

Gone.

Nothing but silence in my skull, like a hollow shell standing still, staring in disbelieve.

I walked forward slowly, every step echoing louder in my ears than the battlefield itself. Kneeling beside the head, my hands hovered in disbelief.

Still not believing what I was seeing.

"I guess I'll have to deal with you as—", Veil tried to speak something but couldn't finished.

In a flash, his body was lifted violently into the air—then **exploded**, scattering blood like rain.

"I didn't ask you," I said softly, standing under the drizzle of blood.

Miss Kaelyn looked terrified, frozen in place. Her lips trembled, but no sound came out. Her eyes locked with mine, and I could feel it—her fear of me.

"What...?" The Elder Lich turned, confused.

Standing back to my feet, I started moving towards Elder Lich.

Mana from air swirled into my body like a flood, each drop crackling with energy. My veins burning in bright blue and skill turning pale white.

Exhales... "Miss Kaelyn, take everyone and leave. Now."
