Chapter 113: Mother's Trail

ARIA POV

I ripped the picture in half, my hands shaking with rage.

It showed me as a five-year-old, playing alone in the pack's training yard. Someone had been watching me even then. Taking pictures. Planning. "Elder Malin knew," I whispered. "He knew everything from the beginning."

"Aria, you need to see this," Frost called from across the abandoned temple.

I looked up from the scattered photos. We'd been hiding in the old refuge for three days while I recovered from using too much power. The other freed wolves were sleeping, finally safe behind walls blessed by the Moon Goddess herself.

Frost held up a leather notebook that had been hidden in Vincent's briefcase. "This belonged to your mother. Her real name is written inside."

I stumbled over, still weak from my fall in the forest. Frost opened the book to the first page.

Property of Elena Moonstar, Luna of the Northern Packs.
