Chapter 1

Reginald Hemingway is a billionaire with insurance companies all over the world called Hemingway Industries with hopes of passing down his dynasty to his reluctant son, Luther.

Luther Hemingway is a tall and muscular 26 year old man with dark sapphire blue eyes and long brown hair. He has two master degrees in insurance which was forced by his father and software engineering which was gotten from an online university because he didn't want his father to know.

He never saw eye to eye with his father especially after his mother died of cancer a year ago. He and his mother were inseparable before she died.

Now, it made him want to protect his 21 year old sister, Scarlet even more. His mother was diagnosed shortly after having Scarlet, who unknowingly got the cancer through childbirth.

He always takes care of her in helping her go to the pharmacy, hospital for her checkups and her Cancer support group. She is currently abroad receiving treatment but should be home any day from now.

Luther is currently single but Reginald won't stop insisting that he married one of his childhood friends, Regina Hathaway.

Regina is the daughter of my father's business partner who is also a billionaire. They've been forcing Regina on Luther for as long as he can remember.

Regina is a beautiful red haired woman with an hourglass shape and deep brown eyes. She has always been in love with Luther for as long as they can remember and her forcing herself on him was what ended their friendship in the first place.

Now, she does anything to Get him back. From visiting him everyday, to the point he doesn't let her into the mansion all, despite his father insisting.

After Scarlet left and his mother died, they've been very tense with each other. And now the biggest fight is about to ensue in the Hemingway Mansion.

Luther's POV

"You are joking with your life with this tech stuff and I'm running out of time, I'm going to step down very soon and YOU ARE taking my place as the CEO". My father said while raising his voice so high, the maids stopped what they were doing to look.

My father and I always disagreed about certain things but never to the extent he would raise his voice this high

He only ever did this to my mom when she was alive which only made me resent him as a child.

"I am not taking over Hemingway Industries, I am not marrying Regina, and I am certainly not a kid anymore so stop acting like you have control over my life when you don't!"

I said to him with a steady tone giving off a stern demeanor.

His face was red hot and his fists were, clenched. He then took a sigh and relieved himself, he almost looked...calm.

"If that's the case, then you will leave my house immediately and you won't come back until you see reason" he said with a calm but strict voice and walked out.

I had saved my own money from my online job and a software engineer because I never liked spending his money.

I grabbed my things from my room and called Scarlet to let her know where I was and then left the mansion.

I was a bit glad this happened because it reached a point where I had no idea what I was even still doing there. But no longer, I will start my new life and he will never hear from me again.
