WHISPERS OF THE FORBIDDEN CREATURES: A New Dawn

Chapter 30: A New Dawn

The dawn was quiet. Too quiet. The air felt different now—lighter, yet charged with an unfamiliar energy. Lila stood in the center of the now-barren throne room, her breath shallow as she surveyed the remnants of the battle. The King was gone. The Veil was gone. But so much had been lost in the process.

The very world around her had shifted, broken in a way she couldn't yet understand. The foundations that had once defined her life—her identity, her destiny—were gone, and in their place, there was only the open sky and the endless possibilities ahead.

But what did that mean for her?

The weight of her choice still lingered, pressing on her chest. She had defied the King. She had shattered the ties to the Veil. She had taken her freedom. But now, she had to create a new world. A new path.

A hand rested on her shoulder. Niall. He looked at her, his expression unreadable, but his eyes softened with something....hope? Understanding?

"What now?" he asked, the question hanging in the air, as if it were the only one that mattered.

Lila looked at the horizon, where the first light of morning was beginning to break through the clouds. The world was changing, just as she was. She didn't have the answers, but she knew one thing for sure: she wasn't alone. And for the first time, she felt the weight of her freedom settle over her like a cloak.

"I don't know," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "But I'll find out."

The world was waiting.

And so was she.
