Chapter 83; I have only you

The name made Song Yaya flinch, again. Hatred seeping through her eyes! Her jaw tightly clenched.

Lu Zhi Hao finally stepped forward, his voice low but firm, echoing with finality. "That's enough."

Everyone turned to him.

He looked at Song Yaya, and for the first time in years, there was no warmth in his eyes. No lingering pity. Just cold resolve and nothing else.

"You abandoned the family when I needed you the most. You didn't return now for reconciliation but for gain. You have no remorse, no shame—just entitlement. But my sons are not blind. They have seen who stood with them, and who didn't. Your blood does not entitle you to their love—or their loyalty. You should know that, and I won't stop them if they want to reconcile with you, but I won't let anyone subject them to pain."

"Zhi Hao…" she whispered, tears finally streaming down her face. "We were once married… I had my own reasons."

Lu Wan Ruyi stood quietly, her arm looped through Lu Zhi Hao's, her smirk unhidden. She could see that gaze she was giving her husband.

And in that moment, Song Yaya truly realized—she had lost far more than she ever bargained for.

"All right, that's enough... Let the auction continue, whoever disrupts the proceedings, please kick them out. This ain't the place for reconciliations." Lu Zhi Hao's cold voice rang through the hall. And everything resumed back to what it was. No one dared to say or gossip.

"What if she has feelings for you?" Lu Wan Ruyi smacked her lips glaring at Song Yaya. She was feeling jealous, and looking at Song Yaya, you could tell that the woman had some lingering feelings, and probably she is back to claim her position even though she was engaged to Gabriel.

Lu Zhi Hao didn't respond immediately. He stared ahead at the stage, hands tucked into his pockets, shoulders square like an immovable mountain.

The auctioneer's voice droned in the background, but all Lu Wan Ruyi could hear was the silence stretching between them.

"Are you jealous?" While the crowd concentrated on the emcee and screen, he wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her up a little before planting a kiss on her lips.

"Who says I did?" She mumbled, hugging his shoulders, feeling shy as some people were watching them how they behaved intimately.

"She might have" he spoke up, his tone impassive. "But feelings are meaningless when they come too late. You can't water a tree after it's dead and expect it to bloom. It's an impossible mission."

"In my eyes and heart, I have only you! You are the only woman!" He kissed her temple reassuring her before putting her down carefully. He gently caressed her tummy before kissing her forehead. He adored this woman, no one was gonna be her match.

Lu Wan Ruyi snorted, flicking her gaze toward Song Yaya, who stood at the far end of the hall, surrounded by whispers and cold stares, her carefully curated appearance now undone by streaked mascara and desperation.

"Hump!" She gave a victory gaze. Lu Zhi Hao was her man, no one had any right to take him away from her. Even in death, they should be a married couple.

"All right everyone, we shall continue…" the emcee's voice rang through the hall, drawing the crowd's attention back. The screen lit up with the next auction pieces as the staff brought forward new items.

One after another, luxury goods, rare antiques, and high-value collections were sold. Eighteen items in, the room had grown more animated with every paddle raised and every number called.
