Upon hearing Yaoyao's words, the driver immediately turned ashen. "Miss Lisa, what shall we do?"
"It doesn't matter, Old Zhang. Whatever loss you incur, our Mr. Feng will pay you double—just drive off!"
"But, Miss Lisa…" the driver hesitated.
"Old Zhang, I told you: get moving!" Lisa's tone remained firm.
Seeing this, Yaoyao shrugged helplessly and said, "Let's go, let's go. Not reporting an accident is considered the same offense, and encouraging a hit-and-run even more so. I'm sure that you—and that important person in your car—might both end up detained."
"You!" It was clear that no one could argue with Yaoyao.
Inside the car, Feng Chen Yi nearly burst out laughing. "I knew you dummy would go against me! But, truth be told, this side of you is truly irresistible." He then opened the car door…
"Mr. Feng," Lisa quickly bent over, addressing him.
The onlookers gasped, whispering, "That man… he's so handsome. Looks like… like he might be Feng's second son, right?"
"Looks that way, I suppose," he replied with a faint smile.
Turning his attention to the gathering, Feng Chen Yi strolled over to Yaoyao. With a thoughtful frown, he remarked, "Miss, I do agree with your point of view. However, I recall someone once telling me that laws should not be misused—they are tools to uphold justice."
"Uh…" Yaoyao, who had been brimming with confidence moments ago, suddenly deflated. That remark hit her right where it hurt—the very words she had once spoken to Feng Chen Yi. Clenching her fists, she lowered her gaze toward the middle-aged man sitting on the ground and said coldly, "Sir, you should leave."
"Hmm?" the man mumbled.
"What's going on? Whose side is this girl on?" murmured some of the bystanders, clearly confused since moments ago Yaoyao had seemed so triumphant.
"What… what are you saying?" the man stammered.
"Sir, there are some things I'd rather not spell out explicitly. I advise you to leave immediately," Yaoyao continued.
"Then what about my hand? Look, my finger is already broken!" he protested.
Staring coldly at his broken pinky, Yaoyao asked, "Was your finger really broken by that car?"
"Obviously—it's clear to everyone, isn't it?" The man retorted, and those around him nodded in agreement.
"Alright, you have eyewitnesses, right? Well then, I have the physical evidence!" Yaoyao pointed first to the front of the car, then to the man lying on the ground. "First, the car was traveling from left to right and struck your left side. Logically, your landing spot should have been on your right—but here you are, lying face down."
"Second, your injury is on your left hand. Given the height of the car's front, it couldn't have hit your hand. The only possibility is that your finger broke as you fell and tried to catch yourself. But considering the first point, your left hand couldn't have even reached the ground, let alone broken a finger."
"Finally, judging from the car's earlier speed, it wasn't going faster than 40 miles per hour. When you appeared, the car had decelerated sharply—down to at most 10 mph, as evidenced by the brake marks on the ground. This means that, based on where you fell, the car must have been traveling at least 20 mph to have hit you."
"And as for your so-called eyewitnesses—I believe those people only noticed the accident after hearing your voice, and legally they don't count as direct eyewitnesses. Their testimony is invalid!"
A round of spontaneous applause erupted from the gathered crowd. At that moment, the bustling street transformed into an impromptu courtroom, and the young Yaoyao looked every bit like a loquacious, brilliant lawyer.
"Wow, this girl is amazing! How does she know everything?"
"Yeah, who is she anyway?"
Amid the continuous praise from the bystanders, Feng Chen Yi gave a gentle smile. He had long believed that Yaoyao possessed the extraordinary ability to turn decay into something miraculous.
No matter which side she chose to support—whether strong or weak—her sharp mind would eventually secure victory! Just how powerful her talent really was might even be beyond her own realization. And this was a perfect example…
"You damn little girl—what business do you have here?!" The extortionist, seeing his plan crumble, cursed loudly.
Yaoyao shook her head helplessly and crouched down. "You'd better watch your mouth, or I can have the car owner sue you, and you'll end up paying out your entire fortune. Do you understand?"
"What do you mean? Didn't you just say he was going against traffic?" the extortionist sputtered.
"Exactly. According to traffic law, he's driving against traffic—making him fully at fault. However... you, the extortionist, will then be held completely responsible, with an extra charge for extortion!"
"You… what evidence do you have to prove I'm extorting?" he demanded.
"Hmph, sir, if we went to the hospital for an injury exam, a freshly broken finger should show swelling and redness. But your broken finger clearly looks like an old injury from half a month ago. Moreover, the front of this Rolls-Royce has been deliberately dented by you, and the repair cost is at least 3 million. Do you really want to bankrupt yourself?"
"You… you…" The man was at a loss—how could this little girl know so much, know everything? "Damn it!" Angrily grinding his teeth, he shoved Yaoyao roughly and then ran off.
"Yaoyao?!" Seeing her pushed to the ground, Feng Chen Yi's face darkened instantly. "Old Zhang, get that man back right away!"
"Yes, young master."
"No need." Feng Chen Yi understood the wisdom of forgiveness. If that man weren't so desperate, he wouldn't have resorted to extortion—and with his broken finger? Sigh… money really is important.
"Heh, you're something else—turning into a different person at times, but when you get bullied you always swallow your pride," Feng Chen Yi remarked with a hint of helpless amusement. He had been with Yaoyao for over two years now, and while he recognized her talents, it was strange how she always acted so foolishly when it came to her own matters or minor details. Perhaps it proves that some people have high IQ but zero EQ.
Gently, Feng Chen Yi helped her up.
Annoyed, Yaoyao rolled her eyes. "Why are you driving against traffic if you're fine?"
"I have business to attend to."
"So having business means you can drive against traffic? The reason that man extorted you earlier is precisely because he discovered you were breaking the law too, dummy!" She bent down, collecting the items that had scattered on the ground.
"Hey, I'm being called a dummy? Now that's an insult," Feng Chen Yi snidely laughed as he helped pick up the scattered things. But then…
Not far away, something glinted in his view. Feng Chen Yi quickly strode over and suddenly picked it up. "Is this… yours?!"
When he saw the pregnancy test stick in his hand, Yaoyao's heart sank. "Give it back!" she cried, snatching it from him and stuffing it into her bag.
