Chapter 10: Invasion Of Venland City (1)

Jin stood patiently watching as the army closed in on the wall, a group of Hunters were handing out special earpieces to communicate with each other. As they made their way to Jin, he noticed a familiar face, Gwen handed him an earpiece, they nodded to each other with acknowledgment as he fitted the mic into his ear. Suddenly he heard a familiar voice come through his comms

"This is captain Zayne, I want 2 teams formed, one will fight on the front line on the ground level which will be led by me! The other I want to stay on top of the wall and provide support as much as possible. This is going to be a war my fellow Hunters, so be ready"!

Jin jumped off the wall landing in front of a small army of about 150 Hunters. Captain Zayne approached him saying

"It's good to see you on your feet"

"I can only thank your healer for that"

Zayne smiled as Quinn walked out from behind him, she smiled as Jin watched her approach him.

"It's good to see you, how are your injuries"?

Before he could speak, she started to check his body and healed some of the minor wounds he still had, he could feel the pain alleviate almost immediately and she says

"I'll be counting on you and Zayne"

"Don't worry, I won't let anything past me"

A loud explosion rung out from the distance and a Reaper appeared that stood hundreds of feet tall, it walked on 4 legs and had a giant gaping mouth with dozens of rows of razor-sharp teeth, everyone readied themselves as Captain Zayne shouts out.

"WE WILL NOT LET THEM PAST US... FIGHT WITH EVERYTHING YOU HAVE"

He began to sprint at the army and everyone followed, Jin with his wounds healed up he started to run, and his body charged with mana shooting him past the Hunters rushing them and he shot himself into a Reaper kicking it into a group of Reapers behind it.

"Sir to keep yourself sustained throughout this battle you must absorb as many crystals as possible. Your primary target should be that giant high rank Reaper; it's red mana crystal should give you a massive boost and maybe a new skill"

As Cain finished talking Zayne appeared above Jin his intense aura leaked from his body as he put his hand up and a blue ball of magical energy formed from the palm of his hand, it kept condensing itself into an even smaller ball until it was almost invisible

"Devastation Wave" 

it fired from his hand and Jin put his arms up to block the wind he was knocked back a few feet, when he lowered his arms he looked back up and it had completely ripped through hundreds of the Reapers, the ground had a massive trails left behind from Zayne's ability, Jin watched as dozens of blue crystals fell onto the ground in front of him.

"That guy is strong"! 

Jin was suddenly surrounded by a group of 5 Reapers; he looked at them and activated his Hyper Tension and he summoned a sword into his right hand. He vanished and each Reaper began to get sliced into pieces until one was left, the Reaper watched as Jin walked him down as his eyes glowed blue and he stopped in front of it and dropped his sword and hit it directly in the chest with a Shotgun causing it to explode into a cloud of blood.

"Now is your chance sir, collect those blue crystals to enhance yourself"

Jin picked up each crystal and absorbed the mana from within them, when he finished absorbing the 5th crystal his body glowed blue, the ground began to crack around him 

"Cain this feels different than last time" 

"These crystals had much more mana stored within them, they have enhanced your mana reserves and made you stronger in every way" 

Jin looked up as the chaos ensued around him and he shot himself towards the battle, he summoned twin swords and began to slice and rip through dozens at a time, dozens soon became hundreds as he made his way deeper into the heart of the army leaving behind a trail of cut up Reapers and blood in his path. He looked up observing the high ranked Reaper as he kept slicing through their troops.

"How could I even kill something that big"

Just as Jin said this a voice came over the earpiece shouting with urgency 

"EVERYONE CLEAR OUT ITS GOING TO ATTACK"!!

The giant Reaper opened its mouth and shot a massive energy beam from its mouth, as it came barreling toward the wall people tried to jump out of the way, but some were incinerated instantly. Jin was blown off his feet and sent flying to the side hitting the floor, when the explosion went off it was like a mini nuke leaving a massive crater where the wall used to be.

"THE WALL HAS BEEN BREACHED. THE WALL HAS BEEN BREACHED" 

Jin heard screaming over his earpiece as his vision was coming back into focus, he stood up shaking his head and when he looked up and saw the crater something in him snapped, anger filled his face as he ripped his earpiece out and started to rush the army, he was suddenly grabbed by his neck and was viciously slammed into the floor. 

"We meet again Mr. Aldeus, what a surprise"!

Jin saw Zaigon standing over him as he tried to get up, he was kicked so hard it sent him flying into the air and back into the city. As his body was flying through the air Zaigon appeared next to him and grabbed him by his hoodie and said 

"I was waiting for this Jin... This time I don't have to hold back"

" Tch... Why are you doing this?... Who sent you"? 

Zaigon chuckled as he pulled Jin closer to him looking him in the eyes 

"Come on... Now why would I tell you that"? 

He dropped Jin and his body began to plummet from the sky, Zaigon was falling with him but was enjoying watch Jin struggle but was surprised when Jin threw a dagger at him. It slightly grazed his face drawing blood, Zaigon kicked Jin downward, and his body hit a building causing debris to scatter everywhere destroying other buildings around him, Jin laid there thinking.

"I can't lose...I... I have to beat him" 

"Sir, I would estimate he his is slightly stronger than you, but those 5 mana crystals have boosted you quite a bit... He caught you off guard, if you use your speed against him, you should be able to beat him".

Zaigon descended from the sky and landed next to Jin, he looked at him and said 

"I will fill you in on one little secret.... I know someone, the one who caused your wife's death" 

Suddenly Jin's body started to glow blue, Zaigon noticed this and tried to stomp on Jin's face, but he vanished. Zaigon looked up and saw Jin standing just a few feet in front of him, Jin's white hair shrouded his face and Zaigon could see his eyes glowing from behind it 

"Hmmm so you did have more in you" 

Zaigon attacked Jin again throwing a roundhouse kick towards him but just as it was about to collide, he flipped up and struck Zaigon on his head with an axe kick. Zaigon fell onto one knee and looked back up at Jin whose face was cold and dead, and Jin softly muttered 

"Have you finally decided to fight for real now... Fine" 

Zaigon's body began to charge up with a black and red aura swirling around he, he stood up and looked at Jin as his body slowly transformed into a smaller, leaner version of his original form. Now they stood at eye level and before either of them could speak they each threw a punch at each other which destroyed the building they were on. Jine jumped off the falling ground he was on, charging at Zaigon.

"Shotgun"!

Jin shot his fist forward at Zaigon just slightly missing his face. Zaigon grabbed his arm threw Jin onto the street, he landed and slid across the ground ripping up the asphalt in the process. Zaigon immediately used a move that Jin has seen previously, he lifted his hand up and shot 4 beams and Jin sprinted towards them dodging them with such precision it looked as if Jin wasn't even trying.

"How... How are you doing this"?

Zaigon rushed at Jin, they collided completely matching each other in speed and strength now. Zaigon threw multiple punches at Jin, but he continued to evade until Zaigon threw a straight right and Jin ducked under it and threw a devastating uppercut at Zaigon sending him into the air. When Zaigon regained control of himself in the air he let out a laugh and said 

"Dark Skies: Rain of Death" 

Suddenly dark clouds took over the sky and soon everything became dark with just some visible light. Zaigon waved his hand down and dozens of giant fireballs came raining down, Jin began to sprint around trying his best to avoid them as explosions were going off all around him, he quickly activated his Hyper Tension and leapt off the ground flying at Zaigon when he was nearly struck by one of the fireballs. 

"Still too slow" 

Before Jin could react to the fireball he was struck across the face sending him through a window in a building, he rolled across a floor and collided with the wall on the other side. Zaigon grabbed him by his hair and walked over to the hole in the window and held his body up to look out at his city.

"Look at it! Your city is in ruins and soon it will be nothing but dust"

He pointed at the giant Reaper and held Jin's body over the edge, Jin struggled and squirmed to loosen Zaigon's grip 

"No matter how hard you try... My master will win. When that Reaper reaches the center of this city, he was self-destruct and take this entire city with it"

"I won't let you... I'll stop you... And then I'll get answers before I kill you" 

Zaigon dropped Jin's body and struck him in the back sending him into another building and his body became embedded in the side of it. Zaigon followed up trying to stab Jin through his stomach with his arm that he turned into a blade 

"Weapon Forge: Dual Daggers" 

Jin hit Zaigon' blade arm to the side with his dagger and stabbed Zaigon in the arm and kicked him back. Lightning began to crackle around Jin as his daggers blades were suddenly engulfed in flames. He Jumped off the building falling to the ground. Zaigon followed him and they gave each other an intense look as they rushed at each other again. 

"You bastards took too much from me already... I won't let you take this city either" 

"We already have"! 

They clashed and engaged in a lightning-fast blade fight, their attacks as they collided with each other were ripping up city blocks. Suddenly Zaigon broke through Jin's guard and kicked Jin back sending him back into a crater that was created from Zaigon's Rain of Death. Jin wasted no time and shot himself at him again with Hyper Tension throwing a dagger at him to which Zaigon swatted away. Their blades clashed and sparked from each hit. Jin slipped one of Zaigon's slashes and struck him in the chest with a Shotgun.

"It hasn't been long, but you've grown strong since we last fought. For a human you are strong, but allow me to show you something wonderful"

Zaigon's body began to leak a dark black smoke, it gathered on the floor around him, two clones of himself suddenly appeared to materialize from the smoke. Zaigon chuckled as his clones began to slowly walk towards Jin, and he began to follow.

"You could've been a destroyer; I now understand why Master is so interested in you... He wants a weapon".

"Cultivation level 4 achieved, commencing enhancement now".

Jin looked down at his hands, he saw a spark crackle from his hands, he looked up at them as they approached him letting out a chuckle. 

"A new passive skill is available. Mend is a healing skill that uses your mana to heal minor wounds on your body such as cuts, bruises and basic broken bones. This skill cannot be leveled up" 

Jin's pain started to slowly fade, and he could feel the mana surge within him. Jin looked at Zaigon and his clones and smiled as they approached him. Zaigon noticed the shift in Jin's demeanor and him, and his clones came to a stop and Jin muttered. 

"You're going to wish you never attacked this city... I'm going to kill you all"
