Chapter 258: Fractures of the Multiverse

Kael stood at the center of the star map, the glowing fractures of the multiverse reflected in his eyes. Each glowing crack pulsed like a wound, threatening to rip apart the fabric of all realities.

Ashara's voice broke the silence. "If these fractures aren't healed... whole worlds could be lost."

Veyna leaned closer to the map. "How do we even begin to fix something this vast?"

Kael's gaze hardened. "One fracture at a time. We find the weak points, then seal them with the power of the Spark—and the Core."

Lysara cracked her knuckles. "So, where's the first target?"

Before Kael could answer, the star map shifted — zooming in on a particular glowing fracture near the edge of the known multiverse.

"A place called The Shattered Veil," Ashara read from an ancient scroll projected by the Vault's remnants. "A zone where realities overlap and bleed into each other. The inhabitants suffer from constant chaos and mutations."

Thorne smirked. "Sounds like our kind of mess."

Kael nodded. "We don't have time to waste. Let's prepare."

The team gathered their gear and stepped through a newly formed portal. The transition was turbulent; the sensation of slipping through a thousand overlapping worlds was dizzying.

When they emerged, The Shattered Veil sprawled before them like a nightmare painted in shifting hues.

The sky flickered between night and day. Landforms twisted impossibly, rivers flowed uphill, and creatures—neither fully animal nor machine—prowled the shadows.

Ashara scanned the air. "The Spark's energy here is unstable—constantly fluctuating."

A sudden roar echoed.

From the fractured forest burst a colossal beast, its body an amalgamation of scales, wires, and glowing veins.

Veyna readied her bow. "Looks like we've got company."

The battle was fierce and chaotic. The team struggled to keep the creature at bay as its form shifted unpredictably, healing itself with the unstable energy around.

Kael's new power flared—gravity bending, flame weaving. He pushed the beast back, striking at the core of its mutations.

"Focus on the fractures!" Kael shouted. "Seal them, or it will keep coming back!"

Ashara conjured energy barriers to protect the team, while Lysara and Thorne coordinated precision strikes at the creature's weak points.

After an exhausting fight, the beast collapsed, dissolving into shimmering particles.

Breathing heavily, Kael approached the largest fracture nearby.

He raised his hands, channeling the combined power of the Spark and Core.

The fracture pulsed violently, then slowly began to seal—light spreading outwards, restoring the warped land to order.

Around them, The Shattered Veil calmed.

Ashara smiled. "One down."

Kael looked toward the stars mapped out before them.

"There are many more," he said.

"But together," Veyna added, "we'll face whatever comes next."
