.....

Basshah!

The vehicle bashed in; it was a jeep, a large one at that.

Moving at high speed, the car crushed every skeleton monster that was in its path.

Jayhan, immediately curling up like a ball, was able to avoid getting every bone in his body crushed by the car.

Who would be stupid enough to drive a car into a closed garage?

Jayhan thought to himself as he slowly opened his eyes.

He could already hear the sound of the door opening; as such, he knew the person was about to walk out of the car.

Luckily, the person's actions seemed to have killed off all the skeleton monsters, leaving only their red gems on the ground.

Shock!

Jayhan watched as the girl walked out of the car and stood close to him, her blue eyes staring down into his very soul.

He was sure he had seen her somewhere.

"Ohh, it's totally you, haha, I guessed right, didn't I?" The girl spoke with a charming and strangely excited voice.

'It's her. The girl from the game store. Wait, did the compatibility rate go up? And her stats?'

"Thanks for helping me." Jayhan first got that out of the way.

How she was able to kill the skeletons with just her car was still questionable, but there was no use asking such questions at a time like this.

Besides, shouldn't she be with Eric's group? Were they already done checking their stats? Even with monsters crawling everywhere?

That would be insane if that were true.

About to stand to his feet, Veronica suddenly did something he never expected.

[Veronica is strangely drawn to you.]

Veronica mounted herself on top of him, her ass resting on his crotch while both her hands were on his chest.

Calm and collected, Jayhan didn't take it too lightly.

"What are you doing?"

"Getting on top of you."

"The garage door has been broken; monsters can swarm in anytime they want. Get off me."

"I refuse."

[The character Veronica wishes for you to be nice to her.]

'Are all the women in this damn world so chill about monsters or something?'

"Woooow, you really are him, aren't you? That's so adorbs, ahhh~ looking at you, I can die."

'The hell is she talking about?!'

[Survival risks have dropped.]

'What?'

Jayhan immediately looked towards the garage exit, but to his surprise, there was no monster there.

It was then his eyes caught something that was worse than any monster walking through those stairs.

Kara was on the stairs, watching another woman sitting seductively on her boyfriend.

Scared, Jayhan immediately grabbed Veronica by the arm.

"You need to get off me, right now!" he warned.

"Uhn? Tee-hee~ are you getting a boner or something?~"

"Dammit!"

Jayhan pushed her to the side, stood up, and immediately walked towards Kara.

Kara had somehow already gotten down from the stairs, and her hand holding the hammer was up, about to smash it at the back of Veronica's head.

Veronica, realizing this, quickly shifted back; scared for a while, she tried to play it off with a joke.

"Who is she? D...did she try to kill me just now?" she questioned while sweating profusely.

"It can talk. Strange. I should kill it just to be sure," Kara uttered with a low tone, trying to drag her hand from Jayhan's hold.

"Nobody is killing anyone! Give me the hammer!" Jayhan snatched it from her hand and then held her hand so she wouldn't go anywhere.

For some weird reason, Kara calmed down, standing behind Jayhan while still staring down at Veronica.

It wasn't that she was psycho...

"The hell? She just totally tried to smash my head with a hammer just now," Veronica yelled while pointing, "Girl, you can't go killing people just cuz you don't like them. That's, like, villain stuff."

Agitated, Kara was about to move forward again, but Jayhan held her back.

"Not to be rude or anything, after you saved my life. But why are you here? There's nothing in this house that would make you stop here, especially having a car with you," Jayhan now asked.

"To see you, silly, why else, duh?"

Jayhan quickly looked at Kara, just to be sure she wasn't already planning to attack again.

"Why would you want to see me? I don't know you."

"That is true, but we should probably leave this place. You know, monsters are totally going to come running through here any moment now."

[The character Veronica genuinely cares for your safety.]

[The system advises to gather gems before they expire.]

'Gems?'

Jayhan noticed the red glowing gems on the floor; actually, they were too many not to notice.

'Wait, now that I think about it, didn't my absorb skill say something about gems?'

Taking a deep breath, Jayhan replied.

"Fine, I'll come with you. But, I get to pick where we should head to..."

"The convenience store? I'm way ahead of you," Veronica replied while spinning the car key.

Jayhan was surprised she knew that without him having to tell her.

Not like he trusted her to begin with, but since the system already identified she wants him to survive, then he would go with that for the meantime.

"Alright then. I need to gather these red gems first; you can go on and start the car."

"Okies..." Veronica carried on.

Meanwhile...

"Babe, I don't trust her. I say we rid her while we have the chance, just to be safe," Kara whispered.

"I don't either. But killing her on a hunch just makes us animals. We'll just keep our guard up. It should be alright if we don't do anything too stupid."

His reply didn't sit well with Kara.

She pouted, folding her arms while looking in another direction.
