The same routine.
Over and over
And Over again.
And Over again.
And Over Again!
Anna did everything perfectly. She wasn't even focused on what the teacher was speaking in front of her.
Something about the X looking for Y.
The bell rang.
Now it was again X look for Y, except in literature.
It was all Xs and Ys in Anna's head now.
During lunch, she took her bag and went to the library.
Reading Moby Dick, she munched on her sandwich.
Hmm...raspberry jam. Too sweet.
The seat opposite her scraped against the floor.
The book from her hands was snatched.
Figuring it was the normal reaction, she looked up.
"Hi."
It was one of her classmates.
Anna forced a smile.
"Hi."
Flipping the pages, he placed it on the table.
"Tom Sawyer." his eyes were teasing.
Great, she still hadn't found a blood bank and a living breathing one is testing her temper already.
She broke her big toe to make some blood to rush all over her body. To resemble a blush.
"Yea, you're never too old to learn right."
The boy laughed. For what reason, Anna could never understand.
"Eli." He extended his hand.
"Anna." Anna gave a firm handshake.
"Why the library?" (I think I have a theme today. all libraries)
"The air conditioning's good here. You?"
"Hiding." He...Eli smirked
"Be my guest then." With that Anna spent the whole lunch break, with Eli sitting with her reading.
The school day wasn't really all that uneventful, just Anna had been to so many High Schools now, that it all started blending together.
When school ended, waved her over to the parking lot.
"Want me to drop you off?" He offered.
"Sure." And without a second word got into his car.
"Your address?" Eli asked gesturing to the navigator screen.
"No need, I have to go to a hospital."
Eli turned to her surprised.
"Really, which one?"
"I just need a blood transfusion, any hospital with a blood bank will do."
Eli's lips hooked up.
"If you want free prescribed meds, just say so."
Anna didn't bother to reply.
"Turn left."
"Huh." Eli questioned her.
"Just follow my lead." Anna purred.
Ten minutes later try were stuck in traffic on the highway.
"Um...so where are we going." Eli questioned, unsure of what was going on.
Anna raised the glasses and turned the radio on high.
Eli seat suddenly started falling.
It was Anna.
Without as much as a change in expression, Anna climbed on top of Eli.
Flashing him a bewitching smile, she kissed him.
Eli responded back quick, getting really into the kiss.
By the time traffic cleared, Eli and Anna were both sitting awkwardly staring out their respective windows.
"So Saint John's." Eli asked with an awkward chuckle, trying to break the uncomfortable tension.
"No, I think I'll get off here." Anna unlocked the door.
Eli placed his hand on top of hers.
"No, it's really ok."
"Ok..." Anna gave into his insistence.
Ten minutes later they were stuck on a red light.
"So the Principal, huh."
Eli flashed her a look. Anna found that somewhat amusing.
"I mean, you were only being nice to me because the Principal asked you to."
Eli tensely nodded.
"A brand new type of teacher's pet."
Anna mused. It earned her a glare from Eli.
The light was green now.
"He's in his sixties you know-or is it eighties."
"Mr White's only 65." Eli intervened through gritted teeth.
"Aren't you like 16."
"I'm 18." Again Eli interrupted her.
"Calm down, I'm not judging you. Just that you're not really bad looking and for you...for him..." Anna left her sentence hanging with a sigh.
Seeing Eli sweating so much, Anna felt bad.
"If it makes you feel better, I once dated a guy in his eighties." To be fair, they met when he was twenty and Anna was....let's say older than twenty. The memories flashed passed Anna's eyes.
Seeing the complicated feelings reflected in her eyes, Eli believed she wasn't lying.
Jerking out of her memories, Anna quickly apologized.
"Sorry for stealing your first kiss."
Eli lightly laughed to disperse the sad atmosphere.
"It was a good kiss, so you're forgiven."
Anna laughed along with him
