Morning Run for Physical Training

Duong Quang Residential Complex

"Uncle, good morning!"

Understanding Phỉ Phỉ wanted to go to Grandma Lương's house to study, she carried her school bag and ran into Lâm Phàm. With courtesy, she politely greeted him.

"Phỉ Phỉ is truly a good child who loves studying. How is it studying with Grandma Lương? Have you learned anything? Do you feel like it's better than the teachers at school?" Lâm Phàm asked with great concern about Phỉ Phỉ's studies.

He himself had never been good at studying.

He could only wield a sword to kill zombies in the apocalypse. If he had a passion for studying, he might have invented something, developed his intelligence, set traps, and not wasted his strength just killing zombies.

Unlike him, who only relied on brute force.

Phỉ Phỉ answered, "Yes, Grandma Lương teaches very well. I understand almost everything she says. It's better than school; I don't need to focus much to understand."

She still felt a little scared of Lâm Phàm, though.

He bought a lot of practice exams.

No matter how hard she tried, she couldn't finish them all.

And Grandma Lương kept assigning her more homework, opening math and language papers... It was endless, just like when she used to go to school. There was no change at all.

"Hmm, that's good. Keep it up. Once you finish your exams, Uncle will buy you more practice papers," Lâm Phàm said, gently patting Phỉ Phỉ on the head. He might not be able to offer much else, but when it came to studying, even if he was poor, he would still buy practice papers for the child. He absolutely couldn't let her suffer.

The sound of a low growl echoed in the air, and Phỉ Phỉ's little face turned pale.

If the stairs inside the space were bigger, she might have asked Uncle Lâm to dance or sing.

"Thank you, thank you, for being the warmth in my four seasons, thank you for being there..."

She truly felt grateful.

The thought of Uncle Lâm making her do all this homework made her want to cry.

Every time she thought of it, tears welled up.

She really wanted to tell Uncle Lâm, she didn't want to buy any more practice papers, she just wanted to experience what life without homework felt like.

"Go study now."

Lâm Phàm waved his hand.

He walked into the residential garden, where vegetables were planted. As long as the seeds were given time, they would grow and yield miracles.

Lý tỷ and Grandma Từ took good care of it.

He took a deep breath, inhaling the fresh air.

There were no cars emitting exhaust fumes, and the air smelled wonderfully fresh, with an indescribable taste.

"It's really important to train your body," he thought.

He had always had the habit of regular exercise.

The downstairs gym was pretty good.

But today, he wanted to go for a run. The reason was simple—he just wanted to run.

Of course, he could run in the residential area, but he thought it would be nice to run outside while enjoying the scenery.

His day was always well-planned.

Run, work, eat, work, eat, sleep.

It looked like an ordinary day, but if you did things with your heart, it would feel much richer. This was the difference between being serious and not caring.

Leaving the residential complex, he leapt over the gate.

Under normal circumstances, the two metal doors would not open.

It was a little dangerous outside.

He carefully landed on the ground, glancing around at the desolate surroundings.

He entered the pedestrian path, took a deep breath, and began jogging slowly, gradually increasing his pace. Don't think just because there were no cars on the road that he could run freely.

This was very dangerous; even a child knew not to do this.

Although Lâm Phàm didn't read much, he still understood the logic of road safety.

He ran along the path, warming up for the first half hour.

At that moment:

"Good morning…"

Lâm Phàm passed by a zombie gnawing on a corpse. He smiled and greeted it, then continued running.

The zombie heard the sound, jerked its head up, and stared at Lâm Phàm. Seeing fresh flesh bouncing in front of it, the zombie let out a howl and started chasing Lâm Phàm.

It chased while howling.

Any normal person who saw this would feel their skin crawl, sweating all over. The feeling of being chased by a zombie was probably scarier than encountering a ghost.

Zombies were very fast, just like a normal person running at full speed.

"Didn't expect that even zombies know the importance of morning exercise for a healthy body," Lâm Phàm said, not wanting to compete with the zombie. But seeing it chasing him, he wasn't going to lose face. Naturally, he picked up the pace, maintaining a distance between himself and the zombie.

"Let's run together, but I bet you can't catch up to me." Lâm Phàm said, turning his head to speak to the zombie.

The zombie howled again in response, not understanding a word.

"Seriously, a lifetime of competitiveness, even for a zombie," Lâm Phàm chuckled, feeling his body relax as he ran. His blood was pumping faster, and his speed increased.

Gradually, more zombies joined the chase, hearing the commotion.

Soon, Lâm Phàm had an entire running squad of zombies behind him.

These zombies didn't decay over time and showed no signs of weakness. They were lively and strong, even stronger than normal humans.

"Come on, come on, speed up, catch my pace, but don't run too fast. If you fall, it's not my problem," Lâm Phàm joked as he passed several intersections.

"Whoa, look, someone is being chased by zombies. Isn't that too many of them?" In a nearby safe area, some survivors were looking out the window when they saw this strange sight.

Their companions crowded around, pulling open the curtains to see what was happening outside.

"This person is doomed, no one can save him."

"Look at his running posture, you can tell he's smart. He's not panicking; he's keeping a normal state. That's the wisest thing to do. When you panic, that's when things go wrong."

"Yeah, that makes sense."

"Do you think he can escape?"

"Don't even think about it. It's impossible. A human's stamina is limited, and no matter how fast they run, they'll eventually tire out. Zombies' stamina seems endless. There's no way he can outrun them."

The survivors whispered among themselves.

They were slowly gathering together, having sacrificed and saved their comrades. They still maintained their rationality in the apocalypse. Instead of letting the apocalypse break them down, they wanted to stand together, fighting against the zombies.

Lâm Phàm didn't notice these survivors.

If he had, he probably would've greeted them and waved.

He ran on, seeing a group of zombies gathered around, clawing at the rolling shutters of a building, making a clanging sound as they collided with the doors.

"What are those zombies doing?" Lâm Phàm wondered. Had something inside the building attracted them?

He wasn't sure, but he didn't overthink it.

He didn't worry about zombies looking for trouble with him. They were busy with their own things, and he was just going on his way.

He kept running, passing by them.

Suddenly, he stopped.

He heard a crying sound coming from the second floor of a nearby building.

Listening closely, it was the sound of a baby crying.

Could there really be a baby in that shop?
