The princess bodyguard.

It is a Sunday morning, the day for the princess to meet with her tutor's for the day lessons.

Even though she is now a full fledged princess, with her knowing and acting all of her princess's duties, she never for once stopped going for her classes.

Her father won't hear of it.

He won't want her as the future queen of BADRITH to lack in any way.

He is training her to be the great future queen of BADRITH.

" But my lady you need to rest, you can't just start stressing yourself again after what happened yesterday", Nina opposed as the princess stood in her room fully dressed .

" I am alright Nina. You don't have to worry about me ", she said with an assuring smile.

Nina frown deepened," Yes, iwill worry about you my Lady. You should not be stressing yourself my lady "

" But I have to attend the moral class ", she sighed.

" You don't have to. I will personally go and meet the king and tell him you can't go because you are still in shock. You can't go my lady ", Nina whined.

Princess Sabrina laughed heartily, her heart filled with warmth of how much her maid cares about her.

" You will go meet father? ", She said amidst laughter.

Nina frowned," yes or can't I? ",

" Oh please Nina ", she said her laughter subsiding.

" You yourself know you can not. Someone who can't even look into his face . ", She smiled.

Nina scratched the back of her head nervously.

" Really? But there can always be a first time, isn't it? "

" Oh please Nina, don't think about it. I will be fine",

Nina shoulders slumped down defeatedly.

" But what if something...",

" Nothing Nina, moreover you will be there with me so you have nothing to worry about"

" Okay then my lady,I will definitely protect you", she said placing her palm on her chest in a vow.

Princess Sabrina smiled broadly, ". Yes you will protect me",

Nina smiled ," The let's go my lady. You will late for the lesson ",

" Let's go ", adjusting her princess crown properly on her head, she made to the front ready to leave.

Nina carried the princess books and walked beside her to the southern palace where her lesson will hold.

Out of nowhere, jade appeared right in front of them obstructing them from moving any further.

" Greetings princess ", he greeted respectfully, inclining his head slightly.

Dressed in his usual black outfit, and as usual his sword beside him.

" General Jade, it is such a coincidence getting to see you. I planned on inviting you over In the evening", princess Sabrina said.

Immediately two pair of eyes roamed on her face, one eyeing her suspiciously and the other blank as a paper.

She cleared her throat, "Of course to thank you for your generous act yesterday ", she said clearing the air.

Nina stifled a laugh, her princess was red with embarrassment already.

" It is my duty princess ", he muttered.

" Thank you for saving my lady", Nina said in her quiet tiny voice . An appreciative smile plastered on her smallish face.

" It is nothing maiden", he replied briefly glanced at her.

" Maiden? No no no ….. ,.I'm just the princess maid . You can't say that", Nina mumbled, trying to hide a fleeting blush.

Princess Sabrina was taken aback, the way he spoke to Nina, with respect. Even though he had no kind of expression on , his demeanor was a less harsh as he spoke to her.

But when he looks or talks to her, his eyes and words are always cold .

Does he have some kind of grudge against her?

She cleared her throat noisily," Thank you for carrying me to my quarters yesterday",

He simply bowed to this,not saying a word but he still stood right there in her front.

" We have to go now. See you later", she muttered and moved to the other side to leave.

But surprisingly he followed them as they kept on walking, princess Sabrina once thought they were going the same thing at before but when it persisted she stopped on her track.

She turned back abruptly and there he was standing, five feets away from her.

" Are you going through the same route as me?", She asked curiously.

" No", he replied curtly.

Seeing his mistake he bowed his head lightly and repeated,

" No … my lady ",

Princess Sabrina sighed, "Then what?", She questioned.

"I will serve your highness as your bodyguard as from today"

" Bodyguard? ", She asked again to be sure, utterly shocked.

" Yes …. Princess"

" My lady maybe his Majesty made him because of what happened", Nina whispered beside the princess.

" He didn't mention anything to me ",

Having an assigned bodyguard means she can't be alone anymore.

Everywhere she go , he must be there with her.

Not like it is all a bad idea, but jade being the one who will serve her as a guard bothers her.

He is someone who doesn't respect her as the princess even if he tried concealing it but she knows.

She is not comfortable with him .

" I need to see father later ", she mumbled to herself before continuing her walk to the southern palace.

The fact that he is just five steps behind her and will have his eyes on her throughout today made her cringe.

The decision needs to be rescinded.

For the lasting five hours of her lesson, princess Sabrina could not concentrate properly.

Her mind solely on what happened the day before.

Watch your back Judrith, I have my eyes on her !

Does that her meant her? Does that mean someone is after her life? Meaning one of her father's foe is trying to get her killed?

Is that why her father made jade her guard? To keep her protected?

All her life being the princess of a very powerful kingdom, she has known the King her father as someone with several enemies.

King Judrith has in many years back defeated many kingdoms and small vulnerable villages, taking everything and expanding his kingdom.

Several kingdoms at his mercies, barely surviving all due to the demanding tribute he received every time.

He is someone who care of nothing in the world, he thinks only about himself and she needs no one to tell her that.

Not growing up with her mother, the Queen, beside her made her face a lot of challenges.

With the way her father wanted her to be, just like him.

But she does not want to be anything like him.

He maybe cruel and merciless to people around him, but trust me when it comes to anything dealing with his daughter, Sabrina.

He doesn't joke with it, he has dedicated his life in bringing her up, and giving her the best life.

Showing his fatherly care in his own way, even though it may be harsh.

If only he could be like every other king, and not wanting to have everything to himself.

If only he isn't dreaming of owning an empire, then everyone won't be out trying to kill him.

But princess Sabrina swore to change everything, as the one and only heir to her father's throne.

She had sworn to never be like her father and that is the main reason she is keeping a blind eye to everything he does.

Acting like she is not aware.

She will definitely rewrite the history of kingdom BADRITH.

Immediately her teacher announced the end of her lesson, she stood up immediately and dashed out of the library.

She needs to talk to her father, the king.

He can't be in the same space as her.
