Sarah was asleep on a bed in a strange facility. She woke up and looked at her surroundings. She saw her sister Samantha and her cousin Susan, the two were still asleep. Sarah tried to figure out how she got here. Sarah then realized that she can't remember anything. She doesn't remember where she came from or how she got here. Sarah then heard footsteps coming. Sarah, filled with fear, covered herself with a blanket pretending to be asleep.
The door opened slowly, Sarah was scared to look at who was coming. She was filled with fear of what they may do to her. Then Sarah felt a warm hand touch her shoulder. Sarah Shivered in fright, she then heard a man's voice from behind her.
"So you're awake" said the voice. "Don't worry, don't be scared. Come on look at me."
Sarah sat up with the part of the blanket covering her face. The man tried to remove the blanket but Sarah kept pulling it back. The man spoke again but in a calm light and soothing voice.
"What's your name little girl?" The man asked but Sarah did not respond. The man tried again "What's your name? Don't be shy." Sarah still kept silent. The man then touched Sarah's right hand that was holding the blanket. Sarah felt a spike in her hand and let go of the blanket. There she saw the man's face.
The man looked young on his face as If he is in his twenties, he was sited on a stool and wore a white lab coat there his name was shown on the ID card. Luke Magawani, age 38, sex male. Sarah then turned back to Luke's face. He had a smile on his face that made Sarah feel warm inside; it gave her a sense of comfort.
Sarah then got off the bed Luke then looked confused and said "Young girl I don't think you should be moving right now." Sarah then turned to Luke and said "I want to wake up my sister and cousin."
"Are you sure?" Luke asked, "There asleep peacefully." But despite him saying that she kept going.
Luke's smile faded and his voice sounded a bit dark. He then stood up and held Sarah's hand he then said "listen you're not safe here we have to leave this place, okay" Luke then tried to take Sarah to the door but Sarah kept resisting and soon she screamed. Her scream echoed from the room she was in all the way to the halls. Luke's face turned pale as he looked at the door with fear and he looked back at Sarah.
Sarah and Luke began to hear children screaming from way beyond the room. Luke's eye's then widened in fear. He then turned to Sarah and said "When you leave this place¬" He then handed Sarah a piece of paper, "Call me don't tell anyone about this paper alright." Just like that he went running down the halls. Sarah went to sleep but it was difficult to do so with all the children screaming.Soon Sarah fell asleep. She woke up the next morning, she still felt tired. She looked at her sister and cousin's bed and they were not there. "Where are they?" Sarah asked herself "they can't have gone far."
Sarah removed the blanket and got off her bed she then noticed that she was wearing a white long-sleeved shirt, trouser and socks. "What's with the clothing? How long have I been wearing this?" Sarah asked herself. Sarah walked out the door and was in the hallway. There was a clock on the wall, the hall seemed to stretch endlessly with turns and doors in every corner. "How can I find them in this place?" Sarah was festered: where could her sister and cousin be?
She then felt a soft hand on her shoulder, she turned around spooked. There she saw a young girl about her age, she was smiling and was wearing the same clothing as Sarah. Sarah then asked the young girl, "Who are you?".
The young girl looked at Sarah with a curious eye and answered her with calm voice, "My name is Mai Hunter. What's yours?"
"My name is Sarah Greenwood."
"You know your parents?"
That's the part Sarah begins to ask herself: Sarah can't remember her parents nor does she remember how she got here. Sarah looks at Mai and looks at her own feet. "I don't remember. Where are we?"
Mai looked at Sarah, her smile faded away like the wind and the expression that remained was that of content. "Me too; I also don't remember my parents as well as how I got here."
Mai looks at Sarah and realizes that her attempt to make Sarah feel better is a waste: Sarah continues to ask herself that question still wondering how she got here and thought of why she can remember her name, her sister's name and her cousin's but can' remember her parents faces.
Mai snaps her fingers causing Sarah to look at her. Mai then draws a deep breath and says, "Don't beat yourself about it, we're just the same: no memories of where we came from, who we got here or who took care of us."
Sarah, hearing that made her feel a lot better but still a little gloomy. Then a young doctor came from one of the rooms he looked at Sarah and Mai and said, "Sarah and Mai we are waiting for you two in the examination room. Please will you two follow me?"
Sarah did not know if it's to follow them or to stay away. Mai took Sarah's hand and gave her a look that made her feel comfortable. The Two went with the doctor to the examination room.
Then everything went dark.
Sarah opened her eyes, she had a gas mask on her face and was strapped on a hospital bed she felt sleepy she couldn't get move. She could only move her head slowly from side to side. She then saw the same doctor holding a strange syringe. The tube was transparent; she saw what was inside: It was some red substance.
The doctor injected the red substance in her arm. Sarah only felt a sting on her arm. She then went back to sleep.
She woke up on her bed, standing next to her was her sister and cousin: Samantha and Susan.
They looked worried.
Sarah asked them where they've been. They asked her the same question.
"I can't remember but it had to do with something called...I'm sorry, it still a little fuzzy." Said Sarah, "Enough about me, where were you two? I was worried."
"We were sleeping. "Said Samantha, "We woke up and found you were gone."
Sarah was confused: she woke up and found they were not on their beds the first time and the second time she wakes up they asked her where she was and that they woke up not seeing her. None of this makes sense in Sarah's mind but she shakes her trying to forget about it: as long as she is with her sister and cousin, it's fine.
She got off the bed and still felt the sting in her arm. What is inside the syringe is still in Sarah's mind?
Sarah then remembers about Mai and goes out the door to look for her Samantha and Susan follow her behind.
Sarah stood there in the hall with shock: She doesn't remember a lot of other kids like her and especially not this much. They were kids all over the place some looked younger than Sarah while other were either the same age as her or older.
Sarah continued to walk with her sister and cousin down the hall. Sarah then noticed the cafeteria and wished to check inside: she believed Mai could be inside since she didn't manage to find her in the hall.
She opened the door and saw her talking to two girls. Mai then noticed Sarah come through the door.
What Sarah saw made her stand at a distance: their eyes made her feel scared. Mai's eyes were green while the two that stood in front of her: one resembled Mai but her eyes were a dark purple, then the last one looked only a bit younger and her eyes were blood red.
The two groups looked at each other at a distance.
