As each attack missed, Illumi gradually understood in his heart that he and the other were not on the same level.

"His speed is terrifyingly fast."

Although he really didn't want to admit it, he also knew that Irumi was currently beyond his reach.

"You've slowed down. What are you thinking about?"

Irumi stood back-to-back with him, arms crossed, head tilted up at the sky, his tone flat.

"Swish!"

Illumi struck with a backhand knife-hand, but the opponent instantly disappeared, then abruptly reappeared behind him, back-to-back.

"I'm not fighting anymore."

Irumi's expression faltered. Illumi stopped his movements, let out a light breath, and walked towards the pavilion where Kikyo was.

"Although I really don't want to admit it, the current me is indeed no match for you."

Irumi watched his retreating figure. Sunlight filtered through the gaps in the leaves.

The spring breeze blew, leaves rustled, and ripples spread across the water's surface.

From the open space to the pavilion, there was a stone bridge. Illumi leaned on the stone bridge railing, gazing at the carp swimming in the river, quietly lost in thought.

At some unknown point, Illumi had not only started wearing long robes but also began to grow his hair long, perhaps to differentiate himself in appearance from him.

"Madam is about to give birth."

Suddenly, a head housekeeper's loud call came from the pavilion. Several female housekeepers immediately appeared around the pavilion, carrying Kikyo Zoldyck to the already prepared delivery room for childbirth.

As for doctors and midwives, there were talents among the female housekeepers who had specifically studied this kind of knowledge; they could manage on their own even in a hospital.

Irumi and Illumi followed the group of housekeepers to wait outside the delivery room. Silva and Zeno, having received the news, rushed over at the same time. The four of them waited together outside the door.

"Click."

After a long while, the delivery room door opened a crack. A female housekeeper dressed in green walked out, bowed to Zeno and Silva, and said.

"The delivery was successful. The baby is now in the nursery and is very healthy."

Silva's tightly furrowed brows relaxed, and he let out a sigh of relief in his heart. Zeno glanced at him, closed his eyes and shook his head, then had the female housekeeper take them to the nursery to see the baby.

"So small, so ugly."

Illumi stared blankly at Milluki Zoldyck lying in a translucent box and suddenly said.

Silva glanced at him out of the corner of his eye but said nothing.

The three generations, four people, gathered around to look at an infant. The baby had just been born, its skin wrinkled and particularly unsightly, but it would smooth out in a few days and return to normal.

It was already April. After Milluki Zoldyck was born, Irumi continued to stay at home.

The sky was bright, without a cloud in sight.

The golden sun baked the earth, bringing high temperatures and, at the same time, infinite vitality.

"Chirp chirp..."

Within the forest, the sound of cicadas was incessant, and the calls of various birds and insects rose and fell.

Beside a small stream in the Kukuroo Mountain forest.

"Splash..."

Irumi cupped stream water to wash his face. The clear stream water washed away the dirt from his face, making him feel cool and refreshed.

Another three months passed. For these three months, he had been training in the Kukuroo Mountain forest.

His father, Silva, was still idling at home and generally wouldn't go out easily.

Grandfather Zeno, on the other hand, went out every few days, practically the model worker of the Zoldyck family.

Illumi, however, eagerly accepted a commission and, accompanied by Tsubone and Gotoh, went off to carry out assassination activities.

"Phew~"

Irumi exhaled and looked up at the volcanic crater at the summit of Kukuroo Mountain.

During his training these past few months, he always felt that something seemed to exist there.

"Drip."

A water droplet condensed on his short bangs and dripped into the rapidly flowing stream.

Irumi stood up, swept his hair back with his left hand, and his short bangs instantly transformed into a slicked-back hairstyle. He was going to test out that volcanic crater.

"Swoosh!"

Irumi leaped onto a tree branch, jumping from branch to branch, the surrounding scenery continuously blurring past.

After a long while, Irumi arrived at the foot of the volcano, looking up at the barren crater.

"This volcano is strange."

Standing at the foot of the volcanic crater, Irumi couldn't help but feel a strong sense of crisis welling up from the bottom of his heart, and his skin tingled slightly.

This volcano was inexplicably eerie, giving him an extremely ominous premonition.

It was very dangerous there. Approaching rashly would lead to some extremely troublesome changes.

This inexplicable premonition and physical reaction were his instincts warning him.

"Better leave."

Irumi turned around with a grim expression. He could vaguely guess what existed on the volcanic crater.

And to be repelled by such a groundless premonition, he felt unwilling.

But one day, he would ascend it.

"Eee yaa yaa..."

When Irumi returned home, little Milluki saw him and immediately stretched out his small hands, cooing and gurgling, very cute.

A female housekeeper with short yellow hair was holding him. She placed him on the carpet, and little Milluki happily crawled towards Irumi.

"Only three months old, not only can he make sounds, but he can also crawl."

"Truly gifted."

Irumi looked at little Milluki slowly crawling on the ground and thought to himself. At the same time, some of the negative emotions in his heart dissipated.

Smiling, he squatted down, picked up little Milluki, and slowly walked towards his father Silva and mother Kikyo.

"Irumi, here's a commission to go to Meteor City."

Silva sat on the tatami mat, placed a file on the tea table, and said to him.

"I haven't been free lately, so you can go this time."

Irumi, holding little Milluki, came before his mother Kikyo and placed little Milluki in Kikyo's arms.

"Meteor City?"

He picked up the file bag from the tea table, opened it in front of everyone in the room, and took out the photos and documents inside, examining them carefully.

The first thing Irumi picked up was a photo of a capable-looking woman in a pure white suit.

"Sylvia Siglit. She is the client this time."

"Her father, Severiano Siglit, is a wealthy man from the United States of Edonia, and also a famous collector."

"But a month ago, her father was ambushed and killed on his way home after an auction."

As Silva explained, Irumi placed the photos on the tatami mat, laying them out one by one in the order of events.

A photo of the client, a photo of the client's deceased father, photos of the accident scene, and photos of the culprit taken from a dashcam.

In the photo, the culprit had a ferocious, bared-teeth expression, his hair of medium length standing straight up, like a hedgehog growing on his neck.

"This is your target."

"Spero, a somewhat famous thief, robber, and perverted serial killer."

Father Silva, seeing him looking at that photo, spoke again.

"His main profession is thievery, occasionally engaging in robbery."

"But unlike other thieves, he often tortures and kills the owners of the items in a cruel manner while stealing."

"Therefore, he was upgraded from a thief to a home-invasion murderer."

"But he has one characteristic."

"That is, he only kills people who have happy families and live blissful lives."
