Richard's POV.
I froze, my ears perked up.
"Did you hear that?" I asked the others, but they shook their heads.
"No," they chimed in unison.
But I knew what I heard. It was Serena's voice, screaming for the doctor. My heart skipped a beat as I heard her scream again.
I pushed the others aside, my feet pounding the ground as I sprinted towards the hut.
"Nothing must happen to my Serena," I muttered to myself, my mind racing with worst-case scenarios.
The guards and healer followed close behind, but I burst into the hut ahead of them. The doctor was already inside, and I rushed to Serena's side, relief washing over me as I saw she was okay.
I wrapped my arms around her, kissing her forehead. "Serena," I whispered, holding her close.
"Ross is alive," she whispered back, her eyes shining with tears.
My gaze darted to Ross, and I felt a surge of hope. His eyes were blinking, and I could see the faintest glimmer of consciousness.
