Olivia's POV
"My stomach... it hurts so bad. The pup's coming... Where's Alpha Zander?" I rasped at the Omega, teeth clenched on the fur blanket.
The Omega huffed, arms crossed. "Alpha Zander's busy with pack business with Beta Jasmine. Don't make a fuss over birthing like it's the end of the world."
My heart ached as much as my womb.
As the Silvermoon Luna, I wasn't just neglected by my mate—I was disrespected by a damn Omega.
"How dare you—"
My snarl died in my throat. My wolf was too weak to project even a flicker of Luna's aura.
"Ugh, whatever." She spun away, cloak snapping.
Moonlight sliced through the stone hut, casting jagged shadows on the damp straw.
My vision blurred as another contraction hit. Then—a wail.
The pup was here. Mine and Zander's.
"ZANDER! WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU?" I screamed until my throat bled, but only silence answered.
The door flap ripped open. Jasmine sauntered in, fox-fur trailing mud.
"Look what we have here," she purred, scarlet nails scraping the stone. "No bond mark, and you're birthing like a dying whelp."
I lunged upright. "Get. Out."
"Oh, please." She circled the crying pup, crimson eyes mocking. "No mark from your precious Alpha, and you still play Luna? This brat's blood's probably so diluted it'll never shift—"
"KNEEL."
My low growl, laced with the weight of Alpha aura, exploded suddenly.
My roar slammed her knees to stone. The crack of bone echoed as Jasmine screamed, her face pale with shock.
She stared at me, pale with panic, as if she couldn't believe I still had a shred of aura.
"What are you—""I am the Luna chosen by the Moon Goddess." I rose, blood dripping from my claws. "Mark or not."
Jasmine's skin bubbled with matted fur. Her wolf-form transformation was tearing her apart.
"You'll regret this—Alpha Zander will—"
The hut exploded. Moonlight flooded in like liquid silver.
Zander stood backlit, amber eyes scanning Jasmine's twitching body before locking on mine.
His aura slammed into me, crushing.
My wolf whimpered.
I looked at Zander.
"You harmed my Beta?" His voice was ice.
"She insulted the pup. Insulted you." I cradled the squalling infant closer.
He sneered, slamming his staff into the floor. "Without my mark, this thing's just a half-breed mutt. And you—"
He tore open his tunic, baring the perfect crescent mark over his heart. "I told you three years ago—you'll never get the real mark."
My throat tightened.
Jasmine struggled to her feet, lips curled in a sneer.
"You insane? This is your pup!"
Zander's brow furrowed. "I took you for your bloodline. Your parents are dead. Your pack's dust. You're useless as Luna."
He raised his chin, voice like a blade. "I, Alpha of Silvermoon, hereby sever the mate bond with Olivia."
Something inside me snapped. I collapsed, the pup's cries sharp as shattered glass.
"Take your brat and leave. Dawn comes, you're still here—"
He vanished into shadow.
The Omega dragged me toward the border.
Moonlight blazed as I stumbled through thorned undergrowth, blood blooming crimson on the snow.
When rogue howls closed in, I shoved the pup into a hollow and curled over them, heart pounding.
Never in my life did I think my mate would reject me and cast me out the day my child was born.
As I shivered, a silvery voice echoed in my mind.
My eyes flew open. I floated in a sea of starlight, silver hair merging with constellations.
The Moon Goddess's face materialized in mist. Her touch ignited my silver mark. "Lycan blood needs no mark. Open your eyes, child."
Agonizing fire flooded my veins.
My claws pierced the snow as silver fur erupted along my spine.
I was Lycan.
When I lifted my head, the forest lay bare before me—every insect beneath rotting leaves, every heartbeat on the wind... including another pulse, northward.
"Go there," the Goddess's whisper faded with the stars. "Your Second Chance awaits."
