Lillian smiled slightly, "You don't think I've changed my mind, do you?"
"It's hard to say. You used to love Jeffrey a lot." Luke sighed, "I think you're rational, but I still can't help but worry due to this delay. Who knows if your emotions might overcome your rationality? I don't want to end up wasting my own efforts."
Lillian chuckled lightly, "Don't worry, I won't lower myself for him again. I'm just waiting for the right time."
She could imagine Jeffrey's anxiety now and was happy to see him like this.
She wasn't kind; she wanted Jeffrey to suffer as she had.
She didn't expect Luke to worry about this, but it made sense. This issue burdened both of them heavily. Lillian looked at Luke and said seriously, "When I was at my lowest, you helped me. I won't betray you. Don't worry, I'm just waiting for the right time."
Luke paused, his expression odd for a moment, then he smiled, "Alright, I believe you."
