Chapter 8

  "What you guys..."

I clenched my fists, trying hard to suppress my anger, and pushed Jerome beside me forward, smiling.

"This is truly the son-in-law you deserve."

I turned my head and looked at Tristen coldly, saying, "Come out with me."

Turning around and walking out, I didn't forget to instruct Jerome.

"Just chat with my parents for a while. They're easygoing."

Jerome worriedly glanced at me, and I comfortingly smiled at him. Only then did he nod.

After obediently nodding to my mother, Tristen silently followed me.

Reaching the landing, my restraint finally snapped. My palm cracked across his cheek, trembling uncontrollably as arctic fury froze my gaze.

"Tristen, you once hurt me so much, and now you want to disturb my parents? What exactly do you want to do?"

Tristen grabbed my hand without any anger, and a hint of anxiety appeared on his usually cold face.

"It's not what you think, Aubrey. I just wanted to come and visit your parents."
