Chapter:7

"Zayden"

(Coincidence,capturing the prey)

I emerged from the darkness, seeking refuge in the light. A door loomed before me, its threshold guarded by an unsettling sense of foreboding. With a deep breath, I pushed it open.

Blood-soaked visions assaulted me. My parents lay lifeless, their eyes frozen in a haunting command: "Run." The surrounding faces twisted in malevolent glee, their laughter echoing through my mind like the devil's chant.

A gunshot shattered the air, and I jolted awake, tears streaming down my face.

A stranger's voice pierced the haze. "You look like a scared cat. Did you have a nightmare?"

Disoriented, I scanned the unfamiliar room. "Who are you?" I demanded.

"I'm your savior," he replied simply. "If I hadn't triggered the police alarm, those men would have killed you."

Memories flooded back: Vipa, Max, and the chaos.

"I have to find him," I declared, rising from the bed.

The stranger grasped my wrist. "You shouldn't leave without thanking me."

I shook him off. "How long was I unconscious?"

"Six to seven hours," he replied.

Panic set in. "I've lost him." Max might have escaped or fallen prey to Kaiden's people.

The stranger's question cut through my thoughts. "Who did you lose?"

I brushed him off. "No one."

With a hasty thanks, I departed, descending the stairs into the familiar café where Vipa had struck.

My determination hardened: I would find Max.

The drive to my office seemed endless. As I arrived, the building's darkness enveloped me.

I slipped inside, avoiding my employees.

Harper awaited me in my office, his expression a mix of concern and anger.

"What happened to your head?" he asked.

I downplayed the injury. "Just a minor fall."

Harper's tone turned stern. "You're lying. I told you not to take risks alone."

Our confrontation escalated.

"I thought you trusted me, boss," Harper said, his voice laced with hurt.

I cut him off. "We can't afford to lose focus. We must find Max."

" Yeah but I ask what happened to your head !" Harper said angrily

" it's a gift from kaiden's man" I say

Harper's expression softened. "You got injured fighting Kaiden's men. Do you know how risky that was?"

I nodded. "We can't give up now."

As Harper spoke, a new determination ignited within me.

"The candidate you chose is here," he announced.

My eyes locked onto Harper's. "Tomorrow, he'll come."

A plan began to form.

I sat in my office, exhausted from a sleepless night spent researching Max. A knock on the door broke the silence.

"Come in," I said.

Harper entered. "The new candidate is here, sir."

"Send him in."

Candidate walked in , . He have a fair skin , black wavy hairs , and most important golden eyes , different eye color , broad shoulder he look like a fighter and similar , and I was taken aback. He was the same person who saved me from Vipa's attack.

"Small world," he said with a smile.

"I expect respect, Mr_" I reminded him.

"I'm Aidyn. 22 years old young man "

Aidyn Introduce him boasting about his hacking, device expertise, and combat skills. I raised an eyebrow.

"What brings you here?" I asked.

Aidyn's response was cryptic. "Love for my country… and your offer."

I chuckled. "Country or money?"

"Both," he replied.

I briefed Aidyn on our mission: locating Max and exacting revenge. His eyes sparkled with interest.

Two days passed, and Aidyn proved invaluable, uncovering crucial information about Max.

Harper burst in, grinning. "Aidyn has good news, sir."

I rushed to Aidyn's office, a separate room he'd requested.

"Aidyn, what've you got?" I asked.

"Located Max," he said, beaming. "And others seeking him. I hacked their computers, learning his Indonesia departure plans."

My heart swelled with excitement. "We must act before our opponents find him."

Aidyn cautioned, "Let's not rush. We'll let them find Max, then take him from them."

"Kill two birds with one stone," he added.

I praised Aidyn, then ordered Harper to prepare our best fighters and gear.

In the meeting room, I rallied my team. "Ready to take down those murderers?"

They roared, "Yes, boss!"

"Remember, don't kill Max or his boss. We need information."

We set off for the seaport, determined to outsmart our opponents.

On the whole way I thought many ways if I get max what would I do to him . How would I torture him . What will happen when I know him. The murderer .

We arrived at the seaport after an hour's drive. Evening had just begun.

"Sir, we're here," Harper said, opening the car door.

I instructed Harper to have our team blend in with the workers, armed and ready.

In the owner's room, I announced our "inspection." He dismissed me with a wave.

Back outside, Harper opened a container, revealing a surveillance hub. I settled in, watching the parking area.

An hour passed. Black cars arrived, courtesy of Aidyn's intel. A main car stood out, and a girl emerged, dressed in black, her face hidden behind a mask. I was taken aback – she was stunning. Her face is hidden but just the way she style and walk it's to good .

Wait why am I thinking like that . I'm not fool . I don't really like this kind of things .

But I refocused. "You're a Mortifer, a murderer, a monster. Remember that."

The girl proved to be the boss, commanding her men. I alerted my team, watching as she received a call and rushed out.

Her team captured Max. It was time to act. I ordered Harper to silently eliminate her men.

After taking out half her team, we made our move. I shot a man, but his companion saw me and run away shouting "boss run " I follow him . In the screen I saw him getting to close to her and talking to her maybe he's her assistant. I shot his leg.

The girl rushed back, he's shouting "Run!" her assistant cried, "Nala, run!"

So, her name is Nala . Nala what does it mean . She's different . Her maks is down . Her fair pale skin with brown eyes, big lashes , her black hairs not to long but not to short . Her face is cute but something made it ruin . She's looking like an angel fell into the hell . Her shine seems to be lowest at this point .

Then I remember . I should focus on my work not the names or girls .

I revealed myself, gun drawn. "Hands up or you're dead."

Nala's eyes blazed with anger and pain. Her assistant shouted, "Kill Max, or boss's secrets are ruined!"

In a split second, her assistant tried to shot me but fail and then by tooking advantage Nala shot Max. My rage boiled over. "You should have feared me." I shout .

I aimed at Nala, but her assistant took the bullet. She screamed, "Lenny, no!"

" please don't leave me like mother" che cried hard .

Harper stopped me from killing her. "She's their boss. We need her for Kaiden's intel."

I signaled Harper to knock her unconscious.

Then I ask Harper to get back to my house .

As we drove back, Nala's words echoed in my mind: "Don't leave me like my mother"

Back at my office, I ordered Harper to secure her in my car I took her to my house . I put her in basement. My house is far away from my office .

As soon as we reach my mansion I look back at her she's still unconscious. Her face is covered with her black hairs . She looking pityfull . I never feel pity , sympathy for any one before especially my enemies. She different but I don't want her to .

I slowly open the door walk out and went back I open the back door . I wanted her to wake up but what if she scream it's okay that no one live here it's far from city but still ... I ..

I have to take her .

I pull her by her arm and pull her closer . I slowly and gently make her stand and then I pick her up .

I don't wanna look at her face . What if ..what if I get ...no no I can't . I walk straight to my door.

Oh god how can I opens the door now . My both hands are not free . Suddenly someone open the door .oh its my maid . Thanks god . I call her before coming here .

"Sir, oh sir are you okay ? " She ask

"Yes I'm okay" I say and walk ahead .

"Sir it's blood are you hurt and who's this girl?" She ask again .

I completely ignore her .

"Is she your girlfriend_"

"No she's not and stop asking questions or else you wanna get fired and what is this sir . I told you to call me boss" I said it in anger . I don't know much . It's what I'm feeling. Can't she just see it .

"Oh, sorry sorry boss" she says .

"Forget about ait bring me basement keys" I say and she run .

After some minutes she bring the key .

While handing the key to me after opening the door . She looked at me with a strange expression like she wanted to know what the hell is happening?.

"I'm meeting this girl live here . You have eto take care of her but don't forget she's my enemy" I say and then I walk downstairs and put her in the chair .

"Boss, if she's your enemy then why she's here and why didn't you kill her" she ask again .

I give her a stare . A Death Stare .

She look down okay .

"Go back now"

She went back I hear the door close .

I look Infront of me .

This girl is helpless, sympathic . She lays there unconscious . Her face is pale . My thoughts swirled with questions.

If she's the boss then why did she cry .

"Don't leave me like my mother".these words echoed in my mind cause of it I didn't even take a nap .
