The library

As they explored the place, Luz was amazed by everything she saw. She asked so many questions that Aliana decided to take her to the small library of the pack.

Inside that place full of writings, Aliana greeted an old werewolf in charge of the books warmly, and he returned the greeting. He was as big as everyone else in this place, but his wrinkles were prominent, and his gray hair exuded an aura of wisdom.

As soon as Zirus laid eyes on Luz, he exclaimed, "Bless my eyes, I never thought I would live to see a human!"

Luz smiled at the man, greeted him, and introduced herself, confirming that she was human. Zirus's eyes sparkled with joy.

"How do you know?" Aliana asked in surprise.

Zirus raised one of his eyebrows, then tilted his face, looking over his glasses. He straightened up, adjusting his glasses, rolled his eyes, and then spoke:

"Little one, you forget that I know every corner of this place. I've read all the books. I know many things, and as soon as I saw Luz with her green eyes, I knew she was human. Unfortunately, the information about her people in our books is poor, almost taken from storybooks. I always wanted to read more about them, but I never found the opportunity to go to other places to get more information.

While they were talking about trivial things, Luz noticed Zirus' curious gaze.

"Go ahead, ask what you want to know." The girl already knew that she would arouse the curiosity of many in this world. She was beginning to tire of it, but at the same time she was resigned to the curiosity of others. She tried to be empathetic, since she too was a curious questioner, and it would be her turn to ask about the shape-shifters.

Before Zirus could open his mouth, Luz automatically blurted out, "Ask me anything, but I'll tell you right now that I don't have any powers."

Zirus's mouth fell open before he could ask his question. His disappointment was evident, but he smiled at the thought that crossed his mind: "She beat me to my question. Could that be a power?"

The afternoon passed almost entirely in the library. One of the topics discussed was how Luz came to this world, and they debated how she could leave it. They touched on many other topics, but it was impossible to discuss each one in depth as there was not enough time.

In the midst of the debate, a roar was heard. GRRRRRRR!

Luz covered her stomach with both arms, but it was useless because it roared again, now louder: GRRRRRRR-GRRRR-GRRRR. Her cheeks turned red with embarrassment, and she apologized for the sound of her hungry stomach. "I'm sorry, I can't control this noise."

A burst of laughter erupted from everyone in the room.

After drying her tears from all the laughter, Zirus urged them to go out for dinner.

Both girls left the library, threatening to return another day to continue their conversation.

They went straight to the kitchen. Luz was happy to eat there. It was full of Omega females preparing dinner to be served in the cargo house casino.

The aroma was wonderful. She served herself some fruit and began to watch the cooks at work.

"Can I help?" Luz asked once she had swallowed her fruit.

Serem watched her with pleasure. "Are you sure you want to do the work of an Omega?"

"Of course, what's wrong with that? Your work is one of the most important jobs. You keep the wolves fed and, of course, me too," Luz said as she rubbed her belly with one hand and flashed a mischievous smile.

The Omegas applauded her as they put a white apron on Luz and urged her to slice a vegetable that looked like a purple carrot.

Each wolf gave her advice on how to wash, peel, and cut the food they handed her. Luz's face was focused as she cut each slice of vegetable.

While the creature kept her concentration on the cutting board, the Omegas stopped what they were doing and stood in a position of obedience and submission, bowing their heads slightly when they realized that the Beta was standing in the doorway with his eyes fixed on the creature's body.

Feeling a penetrating gaze, Luz looked up and found herself staring into the Beta's dominant black eyes. Caught in the act, he looked away and, without saying a word, withdrew. After that, everyone resumed their activities in the kitchen.

Squinting and wrinkling her nose, Luz asked Aliana, "Who is that?"

"Who, Xioma? He's the Beta, second in command of the pack and my brother's best friend."

"A precise and concise description, as they would say in my country," Luz thought to herself. Without giving it much thought, she continued working and meddling in the lives of the other wolves to pass the time.

The Omegas invited the girls to eat in the kitchen, while some began to serve the food in the cargo house's dining hall. Serem wanted to thank the sweet human and as a reward gave her a small piece of honey. Luz could see the hexagonal wax cells of the honeycomb with the honey inside.

The girl put it in her mouth and chewed it with relish. It was a very small portion for her taste, but she was grateful nonetheless. As she ate it, she felt the honey flavor fade away, leaving only the wax from the honeycomb, which she chewed and molded as if it were a piece of chewing gum until she formed a small ball of wax with her tongue, which she then took out of her mouth. During the process, Serem explained how they obtained the honey. She was surprised at how they got it, and it was truly an honor for her to be rewarded with a piece of this sweet honey.

Meanwhile, Xioma went in search of Cas. She found him in his living room, absorbed in papers and maps, drawing up different strategies to present to his allies in their quest to defeat the enemy forces.

"I finally met Moon," Xioma said, breaking Cas's concentration. 'I saw her helping in the kitchen. She seemed to be having fun. I must admit that she is a beautiful woman.' He kept the last sentence to himself to avoid angering the Alpha, as wolves tend to be extremely possessive of their mates.

With a surprised look on his face, Cas listened to Xioma's story. He had taken refuge in the living room, filling his mind with strategic plans to free his mind a little from the beautiful woman who feared him. The urge to go see her was irresistible, and without realizing it, he left his friend talking to himself as he moved his feet toward the kitchen. He didn't want to scare her, so he peeked in slowly as he watched this beautiful creature sitting there laughing and talking while serving herself dinner in the kitchen.

Luz, who was eating carefree, felt watched again, but it was a different energy. She glanced at the open kitchen door to see only part of the body of a man who was clearly hiding. Her curiosity prompted her to get up and go to the door. With each step she took, she began to feel her pulse quicken and an intoxicating scent that she couldn't quite identify. When she reached the door, she could see the back of a burly man walking away in the distance. She felt in her heart that he was the Alpha. Confused, she thought, "Is it fear or excitement? My heart is almost jumping out of my chest."

She tried to calm down, resumed her dinner, and continued the pleasant conversation with the female wolves.

At the end of the day, she said good night to Aliana and the guard on duty, and before entering her room, she made the female wolf promise that they would go horseback riding tomorrow.

Once inside, Luz began to review in her mind all the events of her days with the pack. She eagerly awaited her return home, but understood that she must be patient. An uncomfortable memory made her blush. She touched her lips as she remembered her first kiss, then frowned, annoyed that it had been stolen by that man.

She went through her bedtime routine, then turned off the lights and lay down on the bed in a light white nightgown. She never had trouble sleeping, so she closed her eyes and quickly fell asleep.

As always, despite the tragic moments of her past, her dreams always included happy moments from her life. Little by little, her dreams began to change, giving way to total darkness. She was standing in what appeared to be a vast plain of darkness. Strangely, she felt no fear. She waved her hand and a white flame appeared in the palm of her right hand. It did not burn her and allowed her to at least see her feet and arms. She walked what seemed like an eternity until she came to a huge black door with red edges. She could see small rays of light escaping from under the door. "What could be on the other side?" she whispered.

A sinister voice in the distance said, "Luz, come to me." A terrifying chill ran down her spine, making every hair on her body stand on end. Terror overwhelmed her and she ran as fast as she could in the opposite direction of the voice that was chasing her. She ran as fast as she could until she tripped and fell to her knees with her eyes closed. When she opened her eyes, she found herself once again in a scene straight out of a movie. Hundreds of warriors were fighting against the forces of darkness. Among them, she saw a familiar wolf and, next to it, a handsome man with exquisitely masculine features. with silver hair tied back in a low ponytail and pointed ears. He had an aura of majesty as he wielded a large sword with expert skill against the enemy. Luz, who had always been a spectator outside the bloody scene, saw this majestic being turn his head in her direction, his golden eyes looking directly into hers. From his lips came the word "Liki," not as a question, but rather as a statement to her surprised face.

Luz woke up agitated, feeling a tightness in her chest. It wasn't pain, but sadness. Her nightgown was soaked with sweat, and she couldn't control her emotions. As she held her chest, she repeated to herself, "Calm down, calm down, it was just another bad dream."
