I stand in the office in the north of the city, looking out at the bustling street scene outside the window.

The pace of life here is so fast that it's suffocating, but I enjoy this busyness.

The phone rings suddenly, interrupting my thoughts.

"Sisi, you need to come back," the neighbor aunt's urgent voice comes through, "your grandmother has fallen seriously ill."

Fallen ill so soon? I felt a bit surprised, and driven by curiosity, I took a leave and booked the nearest flight back.

After landing, I headed straight to my hometown. On the way, the neighbor aunt narrated the events that happened during my absence.

"Your father sold the house to repay debt and treat your grandmother," she sighed, "now they're all living back in the village."

I listened silently, but my heart was filled with mixed emotions.

The car drove into the village entrance, and familiar yet strange scenes appeared before my eyes.
