"Yo, bringing roses in, planning to confess to me?"

As soon as I walked into the lottery shop with roses, the lady boss teased me.

I usually like to buy lottery tickets and, since the owner, Li Xiaojie, is quite outgoing, we're quite familiar with each other.

"You just say it, these roses are for you; do you dare to take them?" I pretended to hand the roses over, but unexpectedly, she snatched them away directly.

"Why wouldn't I dare, I've accepted your love."

Looking at her smiling face, I was truly a bit dazed.

Li Xiaojie is tall, with a shapely figure, especially her beautiful facial features that seem like they were made for that charming face, flawless. More than that, her face naturally carries a seductive charm. Such a figure matched with that face is truly alluring.

"Hand over the lottery numbers."

Her voice brought me back to reality, and I reached into my pocket.

When I think of some numbers, I send them to Li Xiaojie, then come over when I have time to see if I've won anything.

"I changed clothes, so let me get two quick picks; I'll come back to claim the prize later."

Li Xiaojie skillfully tapped on the computer.

"Aren't you going to try your luck with the World Cup? Someone made over a hundred thousand on football recently."

I shook my head.

"No, I don't have that kind of luck."

Li Xiaojie looked at me with a smile, saying, "How do you know unless you try? Men need to take a chance." She ended with a playful wink.

For someone else, they might think she meant something, but I'm too familiar with her and know she usually jokes around with me.

"Listen, I don't mind trying, but I'm afraid Old Pang at your home might not agree. No more nonsense; I have to rush home. These are for my wife's birthday." I picked up the roses and left.

Who wouldn't want something to happen with a beautiful woman like Li Xiaojie, but I'm clear in my heart she's just joking; taking it seriously would be foolish.

When I got home, I took out the roses thinking my wife Sun Hui would be pleased, but she immediately frowned upon seeing them.

"Li Pengcheng, you've got money to burn, huh? Why buy this stuff? Don't you know we have a mortgage to pay? If we don't save, how will we afford kids by the end of the year?"

I hurried to explain, "Honey, isn't today your birthday? I wanted to surprise you..."

"Surprise, surprise what?"

Just as Sun Hui was about to continue talking, her phone rang. Without a word to me, she turned and left, slamming the door.

I was quite annoyed that something good turned sour, so I sat on the couch planning to play some games on my phone.

Just then, a message pinged, and I saw it was from Li Xiaojie.

"Is it convenient now?"

"Yes, what's up?" I replied.

"The program on the shop computer is down, could you come and take a look?"

"Sure." I'm the IT guy at the company, so computer issues are simple for me; I grabbed a USB drive and headed out.

By this time, most shops on the street were closed, but the lottery shop was still open.

When I entered, I saw Li Xiaojie frowning in front of the computer, but she smiled brightly upon seeing me.

"You're here, please take a look; the computer is showing a blue screen, and several customers couldn't buy lottery tickets just now."

After taking a look, I saw the program had crashed.

"No worries, it's a minor issue, just needs a fix."

I started repairing it, and she watched from the side.

As I was busy, I noticed the sweet scent unique to women pervading my senses.

It distracted me from the screen, and I couldn't help but glance at Li Xiaojie.

Seeing her up close, her beautiful face made me blank out, even my throat felt dry. I didn't even notice she caught me staring at her.

Once I came to my senses, our eyes met, and I quickly averted my gaze.

She let out a chuckle seeing my reaction.

Her laugh was beautiful and touched my heart; staying with her longer would be trouble, but just then the computer was fixed.

"The computer's fixed, I should head back."

Just as I was about to leave, she suddenly grabbed my arm.

"Don't be in such a rush, stay with me a while longer."

I inexplicably listened and sat back down. She suddenly hugged me, whispering softly, "I haven't had this in so long."

Her words were the final straw breaking my inner restraints of desire, and my mind went blank, overwhelmed by primal urges.

And without caring if anyone was outside, she boldly kissed me; feeling her softness, I embraced her tightly.

I knew tonight, she was mine; I could do anything, but just at the last second, Sun Hui's face flashed in my mind. Instantly regaining my senses, I quickly pushed her away.

"We're married, we can't do this."

Sun Hui stubbornly tried to argue.

"Wang Feng, I really like you."

I could see her genuine affection for me, but I still shook my head.

"I admit you're more beautiful than Sun Hui, and I like you, but I've married Sun Hui and can't betray her."

What man doesn't have a roving eye? I'm no exception. Although angry, when I was penniless, she chose me, so I must stay true to her.

What I didn't expect was that Li Xiaojie's next words completely shattered my beautiful fantasy.

"Wang Feng! Do you think Sun Hui is some good woman? She doesn't deserve your loyalty."

"Li Xiaojie, don't say that," I replied unhappily.

"I won't say it, just look for yourself." With that, she took out her phone, clicked a few times, and handed it to me.

Staring at the photos on her phone screen, I was dumbfounded.

The first photo showed a man holding a massive bouquet of 999 roses while another woman, whose face was joyous, accepted it.

The second photo showed the two chatting intimately.

The man looked somewhat familiar to me, but I couldn't recall who he was. However, the woman in the pictures was unmistakably my wife, Sun Hui.
