My mood eased, so I pulled out my phone and started scrolling through social media, when suddenly a post caught my attention.

It was from Zhao Yurou, thanking someone for picking her up from the airport upon her return to the country.

In the photo, there wasn't a specific person, just a pair of beautiful hands. I've seen them for so many years, I couldn't be more familiar with them; they belonged to Gu Jinzhi.

My head buzzed and exploded:

"Did you go to the airport to pick up Zhao Yurou today?"

Gu Jinzhi slammed on the brakes, first gripping the steering wheel tightly, then he pulled over to the side of the road and started to explain.

"Yurou went abroad early, doesn't have many friends here, and the airport location is quite remote, she's just a girl..."

I interrupted Gu Jinzhi:

"Why did you lie, pretending it was for work?"

"I was just afraid you would overthink like you are now." Gu Jinzhi remained calm, as if he didn't think he did anything wrong.
