I'm not that much of a villain, I swear

Synopsis:



It all started with an innocent web novel written by an anonymous author. Set in a school for nobles with magical abilities, its story of romantic fantasy and harem won over audiences, inspiring manga, anime and video game adaptations. Everything was perfect... until one day it changed.



On the release of the new volume of the light novel - considered the canonical version - the world was shaken: the author destroyed his own work. A secondary villain murders the main antagonist, kidnaps the heroine and other key figures, and transforms the story into a nightmare of manipulation and darkness.



The internet goes wild. Furious fans revolt, and the author, far from apologising, mocks them all... until his fate is tragically changed and he is murdered by a mob of desperate readers.



Kenzo Katō, one of those fans, witnesses the viral video of the murder. But just before the author dies, he seems to look directly at him and utters some mysterious words. In an instant, Kenzo loses consciousness... and wakes up in the headmaster's office of the same magical school in the fictional universe he loved so much.



Was it divine punishment, or just the beginning of something darker?
