Chapter 53: The Auction Begins

"Specially for me?" Chen Mo looked at the maid, whose eyes were filled with admiration, and asked in surprise.

"The person who delivered the invitation said it was for Young Master Chen Mo," the maid replied with great envy. After all, not just anyone could receive an invitation from the Miteer Family.

"I see," Chen Mo suddenly understood. He took the invitation, realizing that this must be one of the benefits of fame.

The auction was scheduled for the evening, but the Miteer Family had already started promoting it throughout the city early in the morning, making it known to everyone in the capital.

They had even opened the rarely used Earth-grade auction hall.

The Miteer Family headquarters had four auction halls, categorized as Heaven, Earth, Mystic, and Yellow grades. The Earth-grade auction hall was enough to cause a stir among the crowd.

Especially when they used the Mysterious High-Rank Dou Skill as part of their promotion, it was as if the people had been ignited like matches, rushing frantically into the Miteer Auction Hall.

However, entering the Earth-grade auction hall was not so easy. One had to undergo a wealth verification process, and without at least a million, the guards wouldn't let you in.

Of course, there was one exception—those who had received an invitation.

But those who could receive an invitation personally issued by the Miteer Family were undoubtedly of high status and wealth, so this was hardly an issue.

As night fell.

At the entrance of the Miteer Auction Hall.

Various luxurious and elaborately decorated carriages were gathered, each bearing the emblems of different families and factions.

The Nalan Family.

The Mu Family.

Soon, a dragon carriage adorned with dragon patterns also arrived swiftly.

The dragon carriage wasn't pulled by actual dragons but by third-tier Magical Beasts with a trace of dragon bloodline.

The curtain of the dragon carriage was opened by a dedicated attendant, and an elderly man in a gray robe and a young girl in a pink dress stepped out.

"It's the Little Princess!"

"Who is the old man beside the Little Princess?"

Many recognized the Little Princess of the empire, but few knew the gray-robed elder beside her.

Nalan Yanran, however, was among those few.

"Jia Lao, Your Highness," Nalan Yanran greeted with a respectful bow.

"Ah, it's the girl from the Nalan Family," the gray-robed elder, addressed as Jia Lao, smiled.

"Yan Ran Sister," the Little Princess quickly ran over and hugged Nalan Yanran's arm. When she noticed the young man behind Nalan Yanran, she asked, "Yan Ran Sister, who is he?"

"Young man, we meet again," Jia Lao also noticed Chen Mo and greeted him with a smile.

The Little Princess was stunned and asked in surprise, "Great-grandfather, do you know him?"

"He is Chen Mo," Jia Lao said.

"Chen Mo greets Jia Lao and Your Highness," Chen Mo said, his eyes examining the gray-robed elder. So this was the Dou Emperor powerhouse from the royal family? He hadn't expected him to attend this auction.

"So you're Chen Mo," the Little Princess scanned Chen Mo curiously, thinking to herself, what a handsome young man. The rumors weren't entirely false.

But was his relationship with Yan Ran Sister really as described in the books?

Recalling a scene from the book, a faint blush inexplicably appeared on the Little Princess's face.

Seeing this, Chen Mo was puzzled. Did the Little Princess, who had little mention in the original story, have a habit of blushing when meeting people?

After chatting for a while, the group headed inside.

They presented their invitations, and the guards immediately allowed them to proceed through a separate passage.

"Is this the so-called VIP passage?" Chen Mo looked at the crowded main entrance and then at the smooth, unobstructed path they were on.

The treatment of a VIP is indeed different.

Absolutely love it.

Walking into the passageway, a waiting maid naturally led the way.

They arrived inside the auction hall, where some of the high platforms were already occupied by major factions.

When they saw Jia Lao, they were all surprised. Could such an auction really be worth the presence of such a big shot?

Little did they know, Jia Lao had nothing to do tonight and had specially accompanied the Little Princess for this outing.

Several gazes intersected.

Under the guidance of the maid, they arrived at the high platform designated for them.

As soon as Chen Mo sat down, a gaze swept over from the left.

Chen Mo slightly frowned; this gaze made him uncomfortable. Turning his head, he saw a man dressed in a blue and white robe with a delicate appearance.

In Chen Mo's memory, he did not recognize this man.

"These are people from Jia Nan Academy. The one sitting in front is their mentor, named Ruo Lin. As for him..." Nalan Yanran recognized the disciple robes of Jia Nan Academy but wasn't very clear about their identities.

"The man is called Lan Baixi, and the one beside him is He Chuzhang, both are inner court disciples. The two beauties in front of them, one is Hu Jia, the granddaughter of the vice president of Jia Nan Academy's outer court, rumored to be bisexual, and the other is Wu Hao." The Little Princess was quite clear about their identities.

"Bisexual?" Hearing this, Chen Mo and Nalan Yanran exchanged a knowing glance and then exclaimed in surprise.

Hearing their exclamations, Hu Jia's gaze noticed them. When she saw their faces, her eyes couldn't help but linger, and she licked her lips at them.

Seeing this, Wu Hao's face darkened, and he whispered, "Is that Chen Mo?"

"Chen Mo and Nalan Yanran are senior and junior siblings, with an unusual relationship. From the looks of it, it should be him," Ruo Lin, sitting in front, said.

"Aside from being handsome, I don't see anything special about him. Saying he possesses three attributes, isn't that a bit exaggerated?"

Lan Baixi looked at Chen Mo, thinking that he could take on ten of such pretty boys like Chen Mo.

"Don't cause trouble. If you want to fight, there will be plenty of opportunities in the upcoming friendly matches," Ruo Lin reminded him upon hearing his hostile tone.

"Alright, alright."

More than ten minutes later, the vast auction hall was already filled.

Soon after.

A crisp bell chime sounded, and the curtain at the staff entrance on the right front was gently lifted. A woman dressed in a bright red brocade robe walked in with elegant steps.

Under the well-tailored brocade robe, her two fair long legs swayed, captivating everyone's attention.

"It's Miss Ya Fei," a commotion arose from the front seats.

The woman in the red robe, known as Ya Fei, responded with a smile and walked gracefully towards the dazzling crystal platform.

"Welcome everyone to the Miteer Auction House. I am the auctioneer for today, Miteer Ya Fei." The usual opening remarks, paired with the woman's enchanting voice, had an exhilarating effect.

Her gaze swept over the sea of heads, lingering subtly on the high platform for a moment before she announced, "I declare the auction now open."

"Let us welcome the first item up for auction."

"This is a fourth-tier Wind Magic Core, obtained by a Dou King who slew a Wind Devilish Tiger," Ya Fei captivated the audience, and just as their curiosity peaked, she waved her jade arm and announced, "The starting bid is 150,000!"
