Chapter 92

The miracle of "coming back from the dead" unfolded before his eyes.

Naruto rubbed his temples, slightly annoyed.

"Seriously? He prepared Izanagi in advance?"

Of course he knew what technique Danzo had used.

Izanagi — a forbidden dōjutsu of the Sharingan that allowed the user to reject reality within a brief period, altering it to their benefit. Even death could be undone. As long as the technique was active, the user became practically invincible.

Naturally, such a jutsu had a terrifying price: every time it was used, one three-tomoe Sharingan would be permanently blinded.

And to activate Izanagi, the user had to prepare the seals beforehand — only then would it activate automatically in a given timeframe.

Which meant...

Naruto looked helplessly at Danzo.

That guy had indeed prepared the hand seals long before the fight. That's why, even after Naruto gouged out both his eyes, the jutsu reversed cause and effect — rewriting reality in his favor.

"Coward. Got lucky this time. I almost had both your eyes."

Unlike Naruto, who felt it was a missed opportunity, Danzo was utterly pale from terror. The feeling of having his eyes ripped out still made his scalp tingle.

"If I hadn't been so cautious... If I hadn't prepared Izanagi before exterminating the Uchiha clan..."

Danzo trembled with rage, glaring at the blond youth before him.

"Namikaze Menma... You dare steal my eyes, I'll—"

"What? You'll what?"

Naruto cut him off with a lazy wave of his hand.

"Count yourself lucky this time. Next time, you won't be so fortunate. Anyway, see ya."

He waved and stepped back into the spatial door behind him.

Danzo froze for a moment, then roared furiously.

"Attack! Don't let him escape! Kill him!!!"

Root members instantly launched attacks.

"Katon: Gōka no Jutsu!" (Fire Release: Great Flame Technique)

"Kikaichū: Arashi!" (Parasitic Destruction Insect: Storm)

"Shintenshin no Jutsu!" (Mind Body Switch Technique)

"Raiton: Kaminari no Jutsu!" (Lightning Release: Thunder Technique)

Various powerful ninjutsu surged toward Naruto's retreating figure.

But with a final creak, Naruto slammed the door shut.

BOOM!!!

The open clearing was left in ruins, scorched and cratered.

The Root ninja stared at the scene, looking helplessly toward Danzo, unsure whether to chase or hold position.

But Danzo wasn't paying attention.

His face was deathly pale, staring at where the portal had been.

"Space–Time Ninjutsu..."

Thinking of Naruto's elusive movements and terrifying combat ability, Danzo couldn't help but feel a cold chill.

As Naruto said — this time was sheer luck.

What about next time?

What if he really got killed?

Right, the Sharingan... he could still transplant more three-tomoe Sharingan and be ready to use Izanagi again...

But then, Danzo's entire body stiffened.

He remembered why he came here in the first place.

After exterminating the Uchiha, the remaining few Sharingan were all taken — by Namikaze Menma.

"Damn it!!!"

Danzo howled at the sky, livid.

Forget stealing chickens and losing the rice — he'd had his legs broken too.

"Such a shame..."

Back at the heart of the Sound Village, Naruto stepped out of the spatial gate, murmuring as he recalled the recent events.

It wasn't often one got to see a high-ranking elite jonin lose his temper to this extent.

If Danzo hadn't dropped his guard, the sneak attack would've never worked.

And even though it did work, and Naruto had already gouged out his eyes, Danzo still reversed it.

"As expected of the leader of Root. If it didn't work this time, it'll be even harder next time. But whatever..."

"I never counted on a sneak attack killing him anyway."

Returning to focus, Naruto turned toward the door and grinned.

"Shisui, you're really unlucky. I almost got one of your eyes back too."

Shisui's heart skipped a beat but he shook his head with a bitter smile.

"It's alright. I've gotten used to these eyes now."

Then he turned to the young Uchiha behind him, speaking with a hollow voice.

"Right now, all I want is to protect them... to help them grow... and rebuild the Uchiha Clan."

Naruto followed his gaze.

The children of the Uchiha clan—no older than five or six—stood crying helplessly, terrified by the sudden trauma.

Some of them, pushed to emotional extremes, had even awakened their Sharingan.

But Naruto wasn't focused on them. His attention was drawn to one girl among them — unusually calm and composed for her age.

"Who's that?"

The Uchiha girl bit her lip. In her eyes shone a three-tomoe Sharingan.

Shisui stepped forward.

"She's Uchiha Izumi — a prodigy of our clan. I couldn't bear to let her die out there, so I brought her here through the spatial gate."

"Izumi, huh...?"

Naruto gave her a curious look.

He immediately remembered her identity — wasn't she Itachi's childhood friend?

At that thought, a smirk appeared on his lips.

"Doesn't matter who you are. From now on, you'll be living here."

"This is the Sound Village — my Hidden Village. No one will harm you here."

"But I'll need your allegiance in return. I promise you — in the future, I'll make sure the Uchiha gets justice."

The children looked around helplessly, turning toward the only two adult Uchiha remaining.

Izumi glanced at Shisui, uncertain.

Shisui didn't hesitate.

With a thump, he knelt on one knee, and said respectfully:

"Menma-sama, you saved my life and rescued our clan. I am willing to serve your village."

Seeing Shisui kneel, the children all followed suit one after another.

One by one, they knelt and pledged allegiance to Naruto.

If anyone else had witnessed this scene, they would've been shocked beyond belief.

The proud Uchiha, kneeling before a young man and swearing fealty?

Even in the era of Hashirama, the Uchiha had never bowed like this.

But Naruto wasn't surprised at all.

Pride meant nothing when your clan had been slaughtered. At such a moment of despair, he had become their light.

And besides, they were just kids — easy to influence.

There were no stubborn adults with Uchiha tempers left to interfere.

Naruto snapped out of his thoughts and smiled, walking toward Shisui, then turned to Izumi.

He gently wiped the tears from her face and, before she could protest, pulled her into a hug.

"Don't cry anymore. From now on, you're one of the only two adult Uchiha left — it's up to you to help rebuild the clan."
