Trial of titans

Chapter: Trial of Titans

As the sun rose once again, birds began to chirp. Their melodious tunes echoed through the air, waking the young warriors from their slumber. After getting ready, they all headed to the Imperial Academy for the selection exam. Waiting for them at the grand entrance was none other than the dean, Michael Ollivier, standing tall with a devilish smile on his face.

"Welcome back, young warriors. Today marks your second phase test—'Might of Titans.' The previous test was designed to assess your strategic mindset. This one, however, will measure your individual prowess. And overseeing this phase will be the Great Moon of the Empire—the Crown Prince, Alexander August Veridian—heir to the Kiel Empire, wielder of the legendary blade Doom Slayer, and the chosen of Poseidon, the God of the Seas."

He paused, his voice echoing.

"Now, remember the rules."

As the tension in the air thickened, a powerful aura of serenity washed over the area. A figure walked forth, dispersing the hateful energy. That figure was none other than the chosen of Poseidon—the Crown Prince himself. His emerald eyes shimmered under the sunlight, his golden hair swaying gently. His face was like that of a moonlit statue—divine and commanding. Every girl in the audience gasped in admiration, except for a few who remained indifferent.

As he reached the center of the stage, he raised his chin, his voice calm yet powerful, like that of a red hawk soaring through the skies.

"Hello, heroes of this generation. I hope that those who pass this phase will walk alongside me in this academy. May we all strive to improve the Kiel Empire together. I apologize if I've made any mistakes in the past… please forgive me. May the Lord always protect us—and even if He doesn't, we will protect the world ourselves. Thank you."

His words struck like thunder, silencing both nobles and commoners. They stood in awe—not just of his power, but of his nobility. Still, whispers lingered—Was it genuine… or just an act?

Seizing the moment, Dean Ollivier stepped forward.

"And now, we begin Phase Two. All participants, please proceed to the arena and then to the basement. There, you will receive your room assignments and participant numbers. When your name is announced, report to the battlefield."

At his command, everyone moved swiftly. They received their numbers and settled into their assigned rooms. Soon after, the first match was announced.

"And the first fight is—Siegfried Dragunov versus Ellen Mereuone!" the commentator declared.

Upon hearing their names, both Ellen and Siegfried stepped onto the battlefield.

"I shall fight you with all my might," Siegfried said, eyes sharp.

Ellen smirked. "Very well, then."

Clang! Their weapons collided, sparks flying. After a brief exchange of powerful blows, Siegfried narrowed his eyes.

"Time to end this—Thrust of Cosmic Destruction!"

A surge of energy erupted as his spear pierced through Ellen's defense. The match ended in an instant—victory to Siegfried.

The crowd fell into an eerie hush.

His opponent charged first, but Valen remained still… until the final moment. In one motion—Crimson Eclipse—the opponent was down. The crowd gasped. His power was undeniable.

Dean Ollivier, clearly impressed, stood up and raised his hand.

"Here are the names of those who passed Phase Two!"

As he announced the list, all major characters were declared victors. Just as murmurs began to rise about what Phase Three might entail, the ground trembled slightly.

Suddenly, Dean Ollivier stepped down from the stage, his eyes glowing faintly, his coat fluttering from the power leaking from his body.

"Phase Three will begin… immediately."

With those words, he unleashed his aura, drowning the arena in raw magical pressure.

Chapter Ends.
