Grandmother Lizzie retracted her gaze from the distance and turned back toward the carriage, her voice calm and authoritative as she spoke without looking back:
"We'll leave in an hour!"
The members of the "Rock" team quickly responded, their bodies relaxing as the weight of their tense moment seemed to ease. It didn't matter that they hadn't known it before, but now that they understood Grandmother Lizzie was a magic caster capable of using third-tier magic, a new sense of pressure settled on their shoulders.
"Captain Dosari, may I take a look at your injuries?" Nfirea asked eagerly, not immediately following Lizzie but lingering to offer help with clear anticipation in his bright blue eyes.
"Of course," Captain Dosari replied, a hint of surprise in his voice before he nodded, allowing Nfirea to examine his injury.
On the side, Lele and Rand, the two brothers from the "Rock" team, were helped to sit down on the ground, wincing from their own injuries. Archer Basque, meanwhile, rummaged through his backpack and pulled out three bottles of recovery potions filled with a shimmering blue liquid. He handed the bottles to his companions, all the while watching their pained expressions as they drank the potions.
Though the potions were far less effective than healing magic, they helped stabilize the injuries and slowly ease the pain.
Basque, the only one in the group still at full strength, finished distributing the potions before standing up and walking toward the battlefield where the ogres and goblins had fallen. He began the grim task of collecting the ears of the ten goblins and two ogres they had slain, placing them in a leather pouch. These ears would serve as proof of their kills when they returned to the Adventurer's Guild, where they could exchange them for money.
Meanwhile, Nfirea was still examining Captain Dosari's calf. His face reflected both curiosity and deep thought.
"What's wrong?" Minori asked, standing nearby and noticing the sudden shift in Nfirea's expression.
Captain Dosari tensed, understanding that Nfirea's concern had to do with the healing of his calf injury—a matter that would determine his future as an adventurer.
"How is it possible for the skin and muscles to heal like this, but the bones inside remain unhealed?" Nfirea murmured, his eyes widening in confusion. "It's not like the typical healing caused by recovery potions."
Minori stood still, considering the situation. This wasn't something he had encountered in the game—healing magic and recovery potions both served similar purposes there, restoring lost health. However, here, in this foreign world, there might be a subtle difference.
He recalled something Nfirea had mentioned earlier about recovery potions in this world being different from those in YGGDRASIL. Perhaps the two types of healing weren't quite as interchangeable as he had assumed.
Nfirea suddenly ran toward the carriage, his voice full of excitement. "Wait for me!"
Minori's attention shifted briefly to Grandmother Lizzie, who was seated calmly in the carriage, watching the events unfold with a neutral expression. She didn't seem particularly concerned, as if this unusual situation was something she had already anticipated.
In fact, it was clear that Nfirea's eagerness to experiment with healing solutions wasn't an unexpected turn of events to Lizzie.
Nfirea had mentioned he'd been studying recovery potions for years, but this was the first time he'd had the chance to truly apply his knowledge.
A few moments later, Nfirea returned, holding a bundle of herbs in his hands. Minori subconsciously glanced over at Grandmother Lizzie again, but she showed no sign of concern. Perhaps to her, this was simply another small test of Nfirea's skills.
Nfirea quickly set the herbs aside and began selecting a few specific plants.
"Pharmaceuticals," he murmured under his breath, as a faint green light emanated from his hands. The herbs slowly began to decompose, their compounds breaking down into fine powder.
The process continued for several minutes, with Nfirea working efficiently, mixing different types of powders together in careful proportions. The whole process took about ten minutes, during which the team watched in silence.
Finally, Nfirea stood, looking up at Minori.
"Minori, can you help me?"
Minori nodded eagerly. He had already considered learning the professions of Pharmacist and Alchemist, and now that the opportunity had presented itself, he didn't hesitate.
At Nfirea's direction, Minori reached into his bag and retrieved a ceramic pot he had been using as a water container.
"Pour the water in," Nfirea instructed, holding the powdered mixture carefully in both hands.
Minori opened his water bag and began to pour the water into the pot. Nfirea carefully added the powder into the water, and then, as the two watched, Nfirea gently shook the pot, his hands glowing faintly with light magic.
The liquid inside the ceramic jar slowly turned a light green, becoming a murky solution with a faint shimmer.
"This is..." Captain Dosari's voice broke the silence as his eyes widened in shock. "A recovery potion?"
Nfirea shook his head.
"No, this isn't a proper recovery potion," he said seriously. "This is just an alchemical solution with some healing properties. A true recovery potion requires a much more complicated process than this."
He continued, holding up the jar.
"This solution will deteriorate over time and become toxic. It's only useful if made and consumed on-site, immediately."
Nfirea smiled brightly and handed the jar to Captain Dosari.
"Here, Captain. Drink this. It will help with the pain and should have some healing effects."
Captain Dosari and the Rand brothers, who had been watching the process closely, exchanged looks. Despite the initial hesitation, they all looked at the jar with more interest than before, knowing that the solution might offer them some relief.
Nfirea proceeded to prepare more of the solution and handed it to Rand and Lele, who both winced in pain as they drank.
Afterward, Nfirea wiped the sweat from his brow, clearly exhausted from the effort. Making the alchemical solutions had taken more out of him than he expected.
"What's wrong, Minori?" Nfirea asked, noticing Minori's distracted expression. "Are you okay?"
Minori was lost in thought, his gaze fixed on his attribute panel.
The two skills Nfirea had just used—Pharmaceuticals and Alchemy—had triggered a response in his panel. As he watched the data unfold, he realized that he had gained new skills himself. He had spent his skill points on Pharmaceuticals and Alchemy, unlocking the potential to craft and mix alchemical solutions. The changes appeared on his attribute table.
