Chapter 6: The Ninth Wonder of the World

Chen Mo absentmindedly raised his head, his gaze drifting toward the window, as if he had heard some strange sound.

In reality, every guest in the restaurant had heard it—the melodious sound of a violin ensemble drifting in from a distance, gradually approaching with a graceful, lingering tone.

Then, to the astonishment of all, a stretched Lincoln car cruised steadily into view, its destination evidently the auspicious restaurant.

Chen Mo sighed softly and turned to give Ye Rong a thumbs-up. "Rong Jie, your standards are getting higher and higher. You've even managed to lure in such a high-class sucker!"

"Really? I've been on a vegetarian diet this month. I had no intention of killing anything!" Ye Rong, hearing such praise, looked perplexed, and it didn't seem like she was pretending.

The two exchanged a glance, and both could clearly see the surprise in the other's eyes—was this for real? Had some guest won a five-million-dollar lottery and decided to revisit to reflect on life? But on second thought, even with ten million, could one really afford such a limited-edition luxury car?

But this surprise was only the beginning. As the Lincoln came to a full stop, twelve BMWs appeared surrounding it, assuming a protective formation.

Moments later, dozens of burly men in sunglasses and suits swiftly exited their cars, unfurling a red carpet in front of the Lincoln door and extending it all the way to the restaurant.

Ignoring the stunned onlookers, the middle-aged female butler snapped her fingers lightly, and fifty violinists suddenly emerged, forming two lines along the red carpet and playing in unison.

Two young girls then appeared next to the Lincoln, respectfully and elegantly opening the car door with synchronized movements, clearly the result of years of training.

"Hmm... Could it be my long-lost, wealthy father suddenly showing up to recognize me?" Chen Mo mumbled, rubbing his chin. He suddenly felt he should go to the kitchen and grab an onion, just to be ready for a dramatic reunion scene.

At almost the same moment, as dozens of bodyguards in black suits bowed, a pair of long, slender, beautiful legs slowly emerged from the car.

Though the owner's face had not yet been revealed, the sight of those delicate, fair legs made all the male onlookers exchange looks and, almost in unison, swallow audibly.

"Ah, Rong Jie, I didn't know you were into lilies as well!" Chen Mo mused thoughtfully, casting an admiring glance at Ye Rong, thinking he might learn a thing or two in the future.

And at that moment, the elegant woman who had attracted countless gazes finally stepped out, supported by two attendants, her exquisite beauty unveiled under the noonday sun...

Chen Mo was momentarily stunned and couldn't help murmuring, "Boss, I must express my admiration again—how on earth did you manage to hook up with a foreign beauty too?"

Strictly speaking, the visitor clad in a silver gown wasn't exactly a foreigner in the traditional sense, but rather a mixed-race individual with both Eastern and Western heritage.

Her eyes, deep blue like the ocean, her golden hair cascading freely over her shoulders like a waterfall, her sharply defined features reminiscent of ancient Greek sculptures, her tall figure brimming with a sculpted sense of dimensionality, and her fair skin smooth as marble.

In addition, the slightly aloof yet graceful aura she exuded was unmistakable, emanating a sense of admiration and yet discouraging any attempt at familiarity.

"Hmm, she seems familiar..." After the initial silence, Ye Rong muttered, seemingly out of nowhere.

Suddenly realizing something, she slapped her forehead and pulled out a newspaper from the counter. Pointing to the photo on the front page, she said, "Look here, it says Miss Gadi from Greece is coming to invest in our city. I think this must be her… yes, it's a perfect match. Should I ask for an autograph?"

Ignoring Ye Rong's excited face, Chen Mo grabbed the newspaper and scanned it briefly.

It seemed that Miss Gadi was quite an influential figure. Apparently, she was the sole heir to a prominent Greek family, held doctoral degrees from several renowned universities, and controlled an investment company managing assets in the billions.

What made her even more noteworthy, however, was the fact that she had remained unmarried, a fact that would certainly drive men mad with desire. No wonder the paper had relegated political news to a sidebar, making her visit the headline story.

In truth, several guests had already recognized her, and the atmosphere in the restaurant had become charged with excitement.

Under the focused gaze of the crowd, Miss Gadi stepped forward with elegance, heading directly toward Ye Rong's counter.

Chen Mo sighed quietly, feeling it was probably best not to be a third wheel.

But just as he thought this, Gadi suddenly turned her gaze toward him, her lips curving into a beguiling smile. "Mo, just as we agreed, I've come to this city, waiting for you to marry me…"

"Spit!" At least six guests fell to the floor at that moment, while even more people spilled their drinks in surprise.

Ye Rong stood speechless, staring at Chen Mo in disbelief, but within moments, her shock was replaced by a strange, simmering anger.

At almost the same time, fifty violinists began to play, and somehow, flower petals began to fall from the sky, drifting down like a soft shower.

"Are you sure you've got the right person?" Chen Mo scratched his chin, a bit confused, sidestepping Ye Rong's sudden assault and glancing at the flushed face of Miss Gadi.

He tilted his head, pondering for a moment before returning to his usual calm expression. "I heard that real-life performances are all the rage these days. Maybe… Miss Gadi, we've never actually met before, have we?"

"No, we've never met," Gadi nodded with a composed expression, as if this were perfectly ordinary.

But just as Ye Rong was about to exhale, Gadi's lips curled into a subtle smirk, and she made a gesture as if dialing a phone. "But over the past five years, we've had 1,028 phone calls. I think that's a lot more memorable than a few simple meetings, don't you?"

"Bang!" More guests slipped from their seats, everyone thinking the same thing—what a joke, even phone calls could lead to wealth and love. This was truly the ninth wonder of the world.

Yet, contrary to their expectations, after a brief moment of surprise, Chen Mo didn't shake his head in denial. He simply gazed at Gadi with a thoughtful look, then gently tapped his forehead, hesitating for a moment before speaking. "Wait, are you… Helen?"

A slight smile appeared on Gadi's lips, and with a hint of bashfulness, she nodded. In that instant, the icy aura around her seemed to melt away, transforming into a warmth that was almost overwhelming.

But at that moment, as Chen Mo looked at Gadi so close before him, he suddenly felt the urge to find a hammer—not to silence her, but to smash his own confusion into pieces, all thanks to that guy!

Looking back, the whole situation was so bizarre and convoluted that it could be made into a classic romance film. The only problem was that the male lead wasn't human, but a mobile phone.

The story was roughly this: like the other three troublemaking entities, Nono, the first of its kind, had some strange habits that Chen Mo could never quite understand.

For example, it liked dialing random numbers just to chat—if the person was male, it would hang up immediately; if the person was female, it would chat for a bit; and if it was a delicate, feminine voice, the night would be spent in conversation.

Due to its demonic power, Nono never had to pay any fees, and if it wished, it could even dial directly into the White House.

And so, Chen Mo, unable to stop it, let Nono chat at will, since no one could recognize the scrambled caller ID.

However, he soon regretted it, especially when he discovered that Nono had somehow adopted his own voice and had been calling Greece for years... and this, mind you, happened six months ago. The person on the other end was none other than the woman who now went by the name Helen—Miss Gadi.

Of course, had it been that simple, there would have been no current complications.

The key issue was that Miss Gadi, seemingly living a blissful life, had been suffering from autism since she lost both her parents at a young age. She had always isolated herself, conducting her doctoral studies and defenses from home.

Who knew how Nono had managed to get this reclusive girl to start communicating with it? Perhaps it should work for the UN Peacekeeping Department.

But by the time Chen Mo discovered this, Gadi had slowly begun to emerge from her isolation, and she had fallen deeply for Nono, who had unlocked her heart...

The problem was that Nono was just a phone demon. Though it mimicked Chen Mo's behavior, it could never change the fact that it was not human. Fearing some kind of international love debt, Chen Mo forcefully ordered Nono to stop calling.

When he finally heard Nono's explanation, he nearly choked. "Well, at first, I thought it was fun, but then I figured since you didn't have a girlfriend, I'd help you out... yeah, no need to thank me!"

No need to thank him? Chen Mo had to dismantle its heart! Thankfully, after some stern orders, Nono reduced the number of calls, and Chen Mo personally called Gadi a few times, gently declining.

About two months ago, this bizarre
