"A Hundred Million!"
Mrs. Susan slammed the poker down. “Even if we sold all your organs, you wouldn't be worth that much! And yet you’re refusing to marry into a rich family?”
Jennifer stood quietly as Susan sneered. “If your father and I hadn’t bought you back, you’d be in some mountain village birthing kids for a poor farmer. You should be grateful!”
______
Jennifer learnt she was adopted the day her “parents” had Sonia. From then on, she’d become nothing but a maid, until they dumped her in a village.
Now they’d brought her back, not out of love, but to marry Sonia’s fiancé, who’d fallen into a coma and gone blind. Sonia refused. They needed a substitute. They needed to swap brides.
Jennifer was about to refuse, until she heard the name: Colton Redford.
The boy she saved from a fire when she was little. The one who had promised to marry her.
She accepted the marriage.
For a year, she gave everything to help him recover. When he finally woke up, the first thing he asked for… was a divorce.
"You’re not the one I want to spend my life with."
Crushed, Jennifer learned his heart belonged to Sonia.
Now, she must decide. Will she accept the divorce and walk away or will she fight for their marriage, despite knowing his heart belongs to someone else?
I love this book but I most confess that Colton Redford must be very foolish to ask for a divorce from Jennifer the moment he woke up from a coma. To even think she had a crush on him. poor girl. .. 😔
