Mrs. Susan slammed the poker down. “Even if we sold all your organs, you wouldn't be worth that much! And yet you’re refusing to marry into a rich family?”



Jennifer stood quietly as Susan sneered. “If your father and I hadn’t bought you back, you’d be in some mountain village birthing kids for a poor farmer. You should be grateful!”

Jennifer learnt she was adopted the day her “parents” had Sonia. From then on, she’d become nothing but a maid, until they dumped her in a village.
