"Okay, we're ready to take off!" The Amazon technician below announced that the stealth fighter was fully prepared for departure.
Liu A'dou nodded, slowly pushing the throttle. The vertical engines erupted with flames, and the stealth fighter gently lifted off. Don't ask Liu A'dou when he learned to fly a fighter jet—he'd tell you it was in Hawaii.
Soaring into the sky, Liu A'dou quickly flew toward the combat zone.
The stealth aircraft surpassed the speed of sound, and it felt amazing—this was truly a product of magic and technology. The Amazons' ability to develop war machines was no joke. It's wrong to think they only rely on primitive, basic tactics. They absorb any war tools that can benefit them. Despite their powerful bodies, their preference for bows over guns doesn't mean they are reliant on firearms.
The plane soon reached its destination. The YF-23 was still circling, and the three pilots of the downed planes were floating in the sea. Liu A'dou didn't waste time. He opened the cockpit and stepped out onto the wing.
On the supersonic fighter, his stance was as stable as standing on solid ground. The attached Ripple anchored his feet to the plane, the repelling Ripple lessening the chill of the wind, and his Microcosmos amplified his strength to counter the wind's pressure.
"Let me see just who you are!" Liu A'dou activated his Microcosmos, and his body flew out. He wasn't yet used to flying with his Microcosmos, but short distances weren't an issue. He took off—
Flying from one plane to another, Liu A'dou clenched his iron fist and punched through the YF-23's cockpit. "Old buddy, it's time to land."
Snake was startled when he saw the strange man on the glass. He attempted to roll the plane and shake Liu A'dou off, but Liu A'dou's hands were embedded into the cockpit's metal. There was no way to shake him.
Liu A'dou smiled broadly at Snake and raised one hand, smashing through the cockpit glass. He stood up, took a few steps, and grabbed Snake by the collar. "Time to land, old buddy."
"Ah—" Snake fainted from the shock.
Liu A'dou snorted coldly, snapped his seatbelt, and dragged Snake back into the autopilot-controlled stealth fighter. He then flew quickly back toward Paradise Island.
As for the U.S. Air Force Major Steven, who had been guiding the Wonder Woman out of Paradise Island, who cares? If he was lucky, he might be captured, and if he wasn't, he'd die in the sea.
The important thing now was to figure out just who this person Liu A'dou had captured was, who dared to defy orders and launch an attack. Liu A'dou had watched the whole process and knew that the attack wasn't authorized by the U.S. military; it was his own decision. But judging by his demeanor, there was definitely someone else pushing him from behind.
The U.S. side was in chaos now. Their pilot had suddenly attacked another country's fighter during a mission. This was no longer a simple diplomatic issue. The White House needed to be notified immediately to decide what to do.
On the Chinese side, the central government was also informed. This was a big deal—they had lost two fighter jets and were provocatively attacked without cause. If this wasn't handled well, their national prestige could be damaged, and how would they speak up in Asia after this? The Americans had to offer a reasonable explanation.
After Liu A'dou returned Snake to Paradise Island, he immediately noticed that the guy was foaming at the mouth, seemingly on the brink of death. Using Ripple, Liu A'dou treated him and discovered that Snake's brain had been injured.
Hippolyta, Diana, Ada Wong, and Elsa all came over, curious about why Liu A'dou had brought another man back.
"Liu, Gaia's grace already allowed you to stay here. Why did you bring another man back?" Diana questioned sternly.
"Do you have any common sense? This guy must have something wrong with him. I brought him back to question him," Liu A'dou replied.
"Pfft!" Diana stopped speaking.
Hippolyta stepped forward to help examine the unconscious pilot but suddenly gasped in shock. "This is the will of war."
"What's that?" Liu A'dou asked.
"The will of war is the power to control someone to wage war. Only the God of War has this power. But..." Hippolyta trailed off, her eyes wide in disbelief.
Liu A'dou knew why Hippolyta had been so startled, but she stopped herself from speaking. After all, the God of War had been killed by her own hands, and his body had already been buried at the foot of the mountain.
"Are you sure only the God of War can use it?" Liu A'dou wondered if anyone else could have this ability. "Or did you misinterpret it? Maybe it wasn't the will of war, perhaps it was just regular mind control."
Hippolyta shook her head. "It must be the will of war. Only it can intoxicate someone with the thrill of battle, drain their energy, and even damage their brain, turning them into nothing but a war machine. I've seen too many controlled by it. I'm certain."
Everyone's mind swirled with an unanswered question: besides the God of War, who else could possess the will of war?
Liu A'dou noticed that Hippolyta's face was worsening. She wasn't improving; in fact, it looked like she was getting worse. He suspected she wasn't telling the whole truth. "Leader, if there's something you're not saying, just say it."
The leader's face showed hesitation. She shook her head. "It's nothing." Then, she started to leave, clearly hiding something.
Diana followed her mother, knowing as her daughter that her mother must have some inside knowledge.
"Mother, please tell me, who is the one using the will of war?" Diana asked.
Hippolyta walked along the small path, crossing a stone bridge, heading toward the coast. Below, the waves crashed against the shore, just like her turbulent thoughts. She remembered events from long ago, most of which were far from pleasant. She stared at the roiling sea for a long time before finally speaking. "I fear the one using the will of war might be your brother."
Brother? Diana had never considered that she might have a brother. "Mother, what do you mean?"
"He is the child of Ares and me, his name is Trax," Hippolyta explained. "In the past, the Amazons had to mate with men to conceive children. According to our tribe's old customs, daughters would be raised within the tribe, while sons would be sent away. After I parted ways with Ares, I never saw him again, and I never expected that he was still alive."
"Mother, are you sure?" Diana doubted that her brother could still be alive, considering it was centuries ago.
"I'm certain. Only those who inherit the blood of Ares can wield the will of war," Hippolyta said with absolute certainty. "And I have a feeling that Trax might be even more evil than his father." But if necessary, Hippolyta would never hesitate to act against her own flesh and blood. "Diana, you must stop your brother before he causes any more damage. We cannot allow him to start a war."
"What should I do?"
"Go with Liu A'dou and the others to the outside world. If Trax truly wants to start a war, he will certainly cause trouble in the outside world. Find him and stop him at all costs. We cannot allow him to grow stronger through war."
Diana nodded. "I will find him, and I will stop him."
Hippolyta didn't want Liu A'dou involved in their family matters, so she told Diana to keep this a secret and investigate quietly.
